Comfort Inn & Suites Midway - Tallahassee West

Hitel was average location not so good restaurants around very limited no places around to go dinner, housekeeping service not so good i ask for towels, shampoo and pickup trash in the morning and when i comeback in the afternoon there was no towels,no shampoo and trash still in the room so no service was made in my room, pool area very dirty specially the bathrooms and no towels were provided because they didn't have clean towels at the pool, breakfast was ok and finally i was waiting more than 10 min at the counter to do the check out because the person in charge was smoking a cigarette and i had to wait for that reason

First room: stunk horribly musty wet. Next room was still somewhat musty, no hot water after a long day of driving. Couldn’t change the temp of the room at all. Possible mold on ceiling, water damage, lamp shade had dirt mark all over it, toilet not secure, long hairs in several spots on the floor in the bathroom. At 11:10 pm the fire alarm was tripped, then at 2:20 am someone was calling our room. The people above us were stomping their feet all hours of the night. Then we wake up and don’t even want to try the hot water so we get ready to leave and the elevator is now broke and we are on the second floor. WiFi also did not work

The power went out and they did t have any kind of backup system in place. So no power and NO a/c for the whole night.

breakfast was good…matress not very comfortable…fitness center not good…treadmill not working and no recumbent bike…but staff was genuinely friendly….for our purposes of coming to see FSU football game it was fine

Room smelled like a farm/fertilizer and I could not see where the pool or fitness room was.

Pretty decent highway hotel overall. Room was quiet and clean. Pool needed some attention. Very friendly staff and good standard breakfast.

Dirty bloody bed sheets with stain, black mold all over the bathroom, Bathroom ceiling was leaking around the doorway with mold all over it, hair all over the bathroom shower, shower would not drain. Hotel pool is outside not connected to the hotel with no lock on the gate. I found used bars of soap in the pool area, Pool area stunk, wasn't clean water. I refused to swim due to the smell of the water, plus no privacy from the parking lot. Breakfast wasn't overly bad but rude workers. Outside parking had lots of security cameras, it was really odd but again the pool area had bars of used soap.

Perhaps the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. We had to wait for 10 minutes to get any hot water for shower. I’ve never seen anything like this before. Our room was humid and uncomfortable because the type of A/C they use. It sends humidity back in the room instead of outside. We will never go back there again or recommend to anyone!!

They do not have a pool. It’s closed. I paid for suite with jetted tub but got stinky room no tub. Front desk was awful! Asked for refund only wanted a pool. Didn’t get refund!

The hotel is in need of a total renovation. Our room had a hole in the bathroom floor tiles, a water leak around the tub had caused visible mold growth, there was a cigarette burn hole in the bedding, multiple poorly patched holes in the walls, and was generally dirty (pink growth in toilet, blue circles on tub that appeared to be from a shaving cream can, etc). I have small children and didn’t feel comfortable letting them stay there, so we immediately checked out and went somewhere else which was much cleaner and updated. I will say the staff were easy to work with and refunded us our room. But I was honestly shocked at the condition of this hotel.

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The bathroom had visible mold in the caulking around the tub, which was unacceptable. The tub faucet would not fully shut off, so water was constantly running. The TV was also broken, with a cracked screen and an image that kept freezing, making it impossible to watch. Cleanliness was a major issue throughout the room. There was dirt in the desk chair, under the desk, under the edge of the bed, and in multiple places where the vacuum clearly hadn’t reached. It gave the impression that the room had not been properly cleaned at all. On top of that, the receptionist seemed inconvenienced by my checking in, which was not a welcoming experience. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, broken amenities, and poor service made this stay very unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel.

Staff ok. Breakfast good. Room smelled like mold radiating from the bathroom. Mold and rust from top of the tub to the floor by the tub apparently caused by water running out of the shower. Very dissatisfied.

There was a roach and spider in our bed room on the last day in the morning before checking out. Our room before we got moved was having water issues where the shower head was spraying into the ceiling uncontrollably. Once moved we experienced yet more water issues with water going through the door frame and pooling in the corner of the door frame. When trying to check out, the front desk lady was on her personal phone and greeted us with “what do you want?” We called the Choice hotels customer service line to file a complaint with the hotel and are still waiting to hear back from the hotel a week later.

Do NOT stay here. First room smelled like mildew. Toilet would not flush, and I was given a broken plunger to fix it. When that didn’t work, J was given a second plunger. Also didn’t work. Was moved to another room that smelled like covered-up smoke (even though it was a smoke-free room). Showers in both rooms were old and stained. Buttons on the AC and heating unit in the second room didn’t work, so we couldn’t adjust the temperature. Breakfast was average. Coffee tasted terrible. Staff didn’t seem that interested in assisting. Stay somewhere else if you can.

Only stayed one night of my two night reservation, and only because it was too late to go anywhere else. Room was dirty, stains on floors, bed, and walls. Smelled extremely moldy and mold on the AC unit. We got sick and our clothes smelled like mold. No shampoo or conditioner in the bottles in the shower. TV only had three channels working and all others said direct tv is negotiating the rights. Front desk person told me I would have to go through Expedia to get a refund for the night because I booked with a third party they couldn’t help me,but honestly it was worth the money to just get out. Guy in front of me having similar issues. Found a Holiday Inn that was clean and so much better down the road. Disappointed because we have had good luck with Comfort Inn and Suites across the country.

The room smelled strongly of mildew the entire time. My son with asthma said he was having a hard time breathing. The shower was clogged with standing water even though the drain was open. There was even an old bar of soap still in there, showing that no cleaning had been done on the shower area.

Our stay here was very disappointing. Room had terrible odor, smelled like mold. Definitely will not stay at this hotel again. The bed was not comfortable at all. Entire hotel really has a bad smell, The tub did not drain, water just filled up while taking a shower, gross. The tub faucet was leaking, we had to listen to it dripping all night. Exhaust fan in bathroom did not work at all. Mentioned to the front desk, we had no exhaust fan. Called down to front desk about the fan, they said maintenance would come up to look at it, they never came.

My first room wouldn’t get cold but they easily switched me to a better room. Grateful for that.

This hotel was ok. The walls are thin and you can hear every movement above you. Next time I would only get a top floor room. I stayed 2 nights and moved to another hotel because every morning I was awaken by the neighbors hair dryer……..😢

Nice room but I was given the 1st room by lobby in it was very noisy.

We got the room with the hot tub in it. The room was very spacious. Plenty of room for 5. Its the biggest hotel room i had been in. The downside was its was very dirty. The whole second floor smelt like mold. The room was very dirty. You could tell the room was old and havent been cleaned well in a very long time. The hot tub in the room was extremely dirty. My husband and kids got in it and when they got out there was a ring of orange and dirt when the water drained. Very disgusting. We came for the snow and i would probably stay a short stay here again just hopefully with a cleaner room. The beds werent bad they were more comfortable than the last hotel i had stayed in.

Breakfast was inconsistent but there was scrambled eggs and link sausage (some days better than others) yogurt, cereal and ability to make waffles. Coffee dispenser not always refilled timely - needed to use decaf to top off cup. A good place to stay overall for a comfortable night’s sleep.

A nice hot breakfast with a variety of items was available. Had to change rooms because the A/C was not working in the room. Luckily the room next door was available so it was an easy switch.

Overall, it was good. Breakfast was well-balanced. The rooms needed better soundproofing to avoid noise from neighboring rooms. They also needed some airflow to remove the old building smell, and a few plumbing fixes were required.

I’ve stayed at this hotel in the past, but it’s shocking how much it has deteriorated over the last two years. My most recent overnight visit was nothing short of a disaster from start to finish. To begin with, the door locks in some of the rooms are either jammed or not tightly secured, making it difficult to enter or exit without a struggle. This alone raises serious safety concerns. The housekeeping situation was appalling. It’s clear that whoever is currently responsible for cleaning the rooms is either poorly trained or not trained at all. My first room was immediately rejected after I discovered garbage in the shower drain and hair on the supposedly clean sheets. Absolutely unacceptable. I requested to be moved to a second room, hoping for better conditions only to be met with more of the same. This level of neglect is disgusting and shows a complete disregard for guest comfort and hygiene. Adding to the frustration, the front desk experience was equally unprofessional. The male staff member on duty was wearing earplugs while sitting at the desk, completely unaware of guests needing assistance. I had to call out to him seven times before he even noticed I was there. This kind of inattentiveness at the front desk is not just poor service it's unacceptable. Overall, this stay was a complete failure. I am formally requesting a refund, as this experience fell far below even the most basic expectations for an overnight stay. What used to be a decent hotel has now become

Stayed due to a hurricane was coming. Excellent customer service and cleanliness. The only thing I would recommend is to getting new toilets (chair height size)...Everything else was clean, smelled real clean and fresh...Will stay again in the future

My check-in experience was wonderful. Trevon Phillips was there greeting me after a very long drive. He represents Comfort Inn and Suites in a professional, friendly and comfortable way! I hope he sees my review. I had one bad experience and it happens just about everywhere you go. I saw a bug before I was leaving and that caused me alarm. It wasn’t a bed bug or this review would be totally different. I think the main point I'm trying to convey is, Trevon Phillips's greeting being wonderful and that means a lot to a tired traveller! He knows the hotel very well and made sure I knew exactly where my room was and that there would be absolutely no noise from the Interstate close to the hotel. It was quiet and peaceful. Please give him kudos!!!!

We did not eat breakfast. The staff was very friendly. Best part about the stay. Cleaning could be better. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning was ok.

The young man at the desk was so nice and helpful.

I love the smooth check in, no deposit, just gave receptionist my name & I received my keys . Breakfast needs some working on. I understand the powder eggs, but it tasted overcooked. & waffle mix tasted spoiled.

We were the very last check in, just before midnight. We were treated with a smile and respect. Just as if we were there at a “normal” time and were special guests. She was great!

convenient to tallahassee

Convenient location to stadium.

On the outskirts of Tallahassee. Easy highway access. The immediate area is close to truck stops no major stores. Clean, quiet and good deal for the price. I would definitely stay there again.

The only downside was there wasn’t many places for tired travelers to eat but it is convenient to I 10.

The gentleman who checked me in was so nice! The property was clean. My only complaints was the door to the room having a couple of inches of space at the bottom it’s a great place to make a stop on a road trip.

WiFi was very slow. Couldn’t stream. Only restaurant in area was Dennys. Very comfortable hotel and clean.

This hotel was conveniently located off of I-10 and a short distance away from the busy city of Tallahassee. The walls of this hotel seem a bit thin as you can hear full on conversations from adjacent rooms. If you are on a short trip, or just need a place to rest while on the way to a destination, this fits the bill. Cleanliness level was acceptable. Toiletries such as shampoo and lotion were in dispensers, but were empty. Bed linens were clean, but could use replacing. Other than that, everything else was pretty good.

The room had the accommodations we needed for a good rice. That is about the best I can say. The hotel overall was dingy and neither clean nor tidy. The breakfast service was a good sight worse than McDonald's. We had to forgo coffee because someone had spilt cleaner in the coffee urns.

I've never been in a hotel that was so, so quiet. Especially as it was sold out. Breakfast was good, plenty of food available, coffee was replenished in a timely manor. Room was clean, bed linens were fresh, hot water on demand, ample toiletries. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a nice stay. Room was spacious and had a king size bed. I chose a room with a jacuzzi tub. It looked inviting; however, the jacuzzi tub was not clean. The tub in the bathroom was fine, but not the jacuzzi itself, which I paid extra for. I planned on telling the front desk at checkout, but no one was around when we were leaving, and I waited at least 5 minutes. The free breakfast was good, especially the waffles. There was a decent selection of food, including eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, and make your own waffles. I would stay there again, but I wouldn't pay extra for the jacuzzi room again.

Very nice hotel and staff. If they could possibly put in a handhold on the shower/tub combo. It’s difficult for seniors to enter a tub shower safely Oh those eggs are really really BAD. I think they may be powdered or premade and warmed. Just don’t serve them if they’re that bad. Eggs have to be fresh

Breakfast was terrible, eggs and sausage was almost inedible. Front desk staff on check in was not friendly nor helpful. She spoke so softly I could not hear her.

Everything was great besides the breakfast eggs, somehow the eggs tasted like cardboard and the new sausages were mixed in with old dried ones. Other than that everything was great and perfect.

The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was great.

This hotel is long in the tooth. Very dusty and dank. Skip the breakfast it’s terrible.
