Homewood Suites by Hilton Philadelphia-City Avenue

The room was nice and clean. WiFi didn't work and front desk wasn't able to resolve the issue. Parking is a bit difficult, either on street parking or a somewhat sketchy lot around the corner but it was free.

Accessing to the pool and gym area was not possible due to key didn’t work and the hotel gave me a third one to try, which I never used neither.

Huge hole in the lobby ceiling with water dripping into a bucket below so that’s the first thing you see when you go to check in. No parking garage or lot connected to property. Had to pay $13 to walk down the block to a lot that was open with no attendant. Literally anyone off the street could have parked there for free so why are guests paying to park there? Room smelled like food, thankfully they switched us to another room. The next room’s lights didn’t work nor did the TV, so had to have the engineer come and trip the breaker. Ice machine didn’t work on my floor or any floor. The staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be but overall very disappointed as an Honors member.

There’s no attached parking, so you have to park 100-200 feet away in a lot. People were smoking pot on the street. The shower constantly dripped water onto the shower drain keeping us up at night. Twice, I found the door left ajar, even after they supposedly “fixed” it not closing properly. The hotel shares the same address as the Hilton, which caused confusion—both times I ordered food delivery, it was sent to the Hilton instead of the Homewood Suites by Hilton. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The parking lot was down the block from the hotel. My husband is handicapped so we had to wait for a street parking.

Hall to connect hotel to pool closed. Who wants to walk outside in cold? Breakfast options Very limited for price

Easy check in and out. Very friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Only downside was the pool water was very cold. Would definitely stay again.

There is no on site parking you have to park down the street and open lot and it’s $12.99 a day. It was a fan over top of the bed inside my room that was full of dust and dirt. They had to knock some of the dust and dirt off so that I wouldn’t have any other fall on my head while I was sleeping there was only one elevator working so you had to wait until maintenance got done with their move the furniture in order to receive that white elevator

I booked the reservation there because they had a pool. The pool water was dirty there was no chlorine to kill the bacteria. The room was very nice that they definitely need to do better about the pool.

The room was not very clean and there was a noise in the room due to a broken part in the toilet. There were also knats in the room in the shower, around the sink and on the bed spread.

I experienced such poor service & an unsatisfactory stay this past weekend.To begin we had to wait 45 minutes to check in because ROOMS were not ready.The room was no cleaned well,crumbs and skittles on the floors.Once we got settled we realized we had NO PHONE. We let the front desk know and they informed us there was NOTHING for them to do even though that’s a safety issue,they offered Hilton Points. WHY would sell that room to anyone? The room itself was old and outdated.There was 1 hook in the bathroom for a Suite that sleeps 4,why? The attempt to make it updated is a door to the bathroom that doesn’t block out light or sound that slides like a Barn Door. 2 roaches made an appearance in the kitchen & bathroom.The water pressure in the bathroom sink was a trickle. I didn’t have a phone to complain and my room was already paid for so at this point, we were STUCK. Front desk did not give myself and other patrons a decent or honest reason as to WHY a 45 minute wait was necessary. She was polite but very dismissive.Things happen, short staff happens but give us the courtesy and respect to be HONEST! This particular establishment dropped the ball numerous ways.We stayed 2 nights and to add insult the injury during Sunday check out they had a Plastic juice container with a hand written not saying “Room Keys”. I was in awe of the unprofessionalism.This was beyond disappointing and pray I’ll never have this experience at ANY establishment.

Our room was awesome, it even had a small kitchen complete with refrigerator, cook top, dishwasher, dishes, pots and pans! The bed was so comfortable and the staff we met were all friendly. The whole place was very clean, and the breakfast was great! Didn’t get a chance to check out the pool. Definitely will come back!

There were bed bugs in the room

The room wasn’t very clean. There was caked dust everywhere, and mold and mildew in the shower area. Toilet bowl was cracked. Lighting throughout was sub par

Definite odor in the building and was not clean!

Furniture in lobby looked old, worn and stained. Elevators were dirty, all scratched up, puddles of water on the floor, smelled and one had the control panel loose. Almost every door and wall has scratches and paint chips where the luggage racks or cleaning carts have been ran into them. Mold in our shower. Worn and stained toilet seats. The hallways smelled and were not air conditioned properly. All drapes were extremely wrinkled. Every single worker we encountered was extremely nice and attentive though

The staff was very pleasant...i was just disappointed by the mold and hard water on rim on bottom of shower. The bathroom is an important place. I come from hilton background. And i hope that housekeeping can become a little more mindful of places like that in which need to be cleaned.

There was a problem getting into my room and I had to wait in the hall about 20-30 minutes and go back down to the desk several times to get assistance. The carpeting needs updating, the bathroom had stains on the shower bench and wallpaper stripped off in areas. Staff were kind and well meaning but the repairman was sent to the wrong room. They did have recycling. Kitchen area needs updating.

The hotel was just okay. Pros: The Stuido was spacious, the linens were clean, the mattress was soft, the kitchen area was good for stove top cooking . Cons: The room smelled a little musty, the couch looked like it needed to be shampooed, there was no real lighting in the room (no overhead lights or lamps) Stay if the price is right. If it’s more than you budget go with a different option .

Rooms were very comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. Great staff.

This is not what I expect from a Homewood Suites. The breakfast was very limited in options, the fitness room was poorly equipped, the building was dated, the wifi was intermittent, and the satellite reception was inconsistent. The tv reception would cut in and out due to an exposed cable connection on the back of the tv. There is a social snack on Wednesday evenings that was not advertised by the staff and was not typical of what is expected at Homewood Suites. I stay at many Homewood Suites and this is by far the worse I've ever stayed at.

The room that I was in 401, did not have a phone, no lighting, and tv channels did not work. The front office had an excuse, tv the cable company, no phone due to the jacks, the lightning the engineers. Did not offer me no new room, or lamps, anything.

The first room had no air conditioning and the fan was so dirty and dusty. We had to change rooms. The hallway and main lobby had no air conditioning. Front desk clerks were also hot and did not have air conditioning. The Hilton down the street was very cool and had wonderful air conditioning. I wished I booked there instead.

The front desk staff were super pleasant and helpful. The room was nice and big. My showerhead leaked so I ended up having to put a towel over the drain to keep it from tinging through the night. It’s a relatively dark space and my “ living room” light flickered off and died. Loved the size of the fridge and microwave and dishwasher.

I had to stay at the Homewood Suites city Avenue Philadelphia due to a plumbing emergency at my home. The staff could not be more accommodating! Often going above and beyond what was expected. It’s a convenient, clean, comfortable hotel that connects to the Hilton with additional amenities there.

I’m not able to tell you about our stay because we didn’t even get that far. I booked the nicest room that was available for my family because we were coming to see a Phillies game. Check in is at 4pm. We arrived at 4pm. At check in we were told that our room wasn’t ready but should be in a few mins and someone would call us. There were others waiting in the lobby for rooms also. We went to check out the pool with the kids. Came back down to the lobby at 4:30. My 17 month old was starting to loose it. I went up to the desk again. To ask when they thought the room would be ready. The girl at the desk said she texted the cleaners but hasn’t heard back. I asked what was going to be done to compensate for the late check in. She said she would have to ask the Manager. The Mangers shows up a few mins later and said the hotel was fully booked yesterday and guest checked out late, that’s why rooms were not ready. He also said there was only a few of our room type in the hotel. I asked when the room would be ready and they still wouldn’t say. He said soon and he was going to go and check it out. Buy this point it’s 4:45 and they still didn’t know when the room would be ready. There was several other guests who didn’t have rooms yet either. The Manager didn’t apologize or offer anything for the hassle. I asked to cancel our stay and return my money. We choose to drive home instead. The experience was so unprofessional. They were just bsing me and making excuses for a poorly run hotel.

Friday staff was welcoming. Saturday-Monday staff could have been more pleasant. Called the front desk several times from the room and cell phone and no one answered.

I had a 2 night stay in a king suite studio. The room was clean, and a simple breakfast buffet. First time in the area and the front desk attendant, TJ, was very friendly and helpful with any questions I had about the area and services. Thank you TJ and Kayla.

We felt that the facility was understaffed. This was evident by some structural deficiencies. For example, the automatic door at the entrance was not working, making it difficult to bring in a luggage cart or for a person in a wheelchair to enter. Also, there was no shower curtain in our bathroom so the floor flooded when we took a shower. Having said that, the staff that was present was excellent, just too few of them. For example, TJ at the front desk was especially helpful.

My 8 yr old son ended up getting a stomach virus and the staff was very helpful. They got us some food from the breakfast buffet for him to eat in the evening for him.

Brandon and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Always available to help. Would stay again!

Our stay here was great. It was super hot outside and I was a little nervous because in the hallways the air conditioning seemed like it wasn’t working well but our room was very cool and comfortable. This location worked for us because we were seeing a show at the Mann but be aware, it’s not close to Center City at all. If you have a car, the parking lot is safe and secure and just a very short walk to the hotel if you don’t wish to Valet. I only had coffee but breakfast was included and seemed to have a variety of typical items. Planning to come again next month for another show!

Good area

I like that it was very convenient to citizenballpark,and the Philadelphia zoo-alsoFairmont Park.

Very efficient and friendly staff. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Well maintained grounds. Parking was easy and hotel was in a good location for walking shopping and dining. Unfortunately, this time, the food and coffe at the hotel's inclusive breakfast was not that great. This was the third time I've stayed in a suite at this hotel. Overall experience was very good.

A really nice well maintained joint. Super nice and friendly staff. Brandon at the front desk was great, everyone I met on the team there is great. I was there for a concert at The Mann Center and this was 1 mile away will stay again next time I go to a show @ The Mann

Quite but a bit isolated area. 15-20 mins drive to city Center.

Staff was excellent, polite and very accommodating. Area felt safe and was convenient for our purposes. Breakfast was fine, good for this type of property. Property was clean and room was spacious and comfortable. I would stay here again if in the area.

I chose this hotel to stay at for a conference that took place at the convention center in downtown Philly. My stay here was absolutely amazing. The room was great and comfortable, the staff was super friendly, If there are no events happening at the hotel, then there is plenty of on street parking, otherwise they do have a parking lot down the street very close to the hotel for $20 during my stay. They served hot breakfast every day and there is something magical about their eggs, because it tasted fantastic. I would totally stay here again. Plus they are located right next to target, which was extremely convenient since the hotel rooms have a kitchen.

Affordable, staff were extremely helpful, great area for food and shopping, convenient for families

The room carpet and windows need to be cleaned. I had black nats flying around in my room. The heating system was kind and I could not regulate my room temperature. The breakfast was awful. The oatmeal wasn’t hot and the fruit was frozen.

Better than expected for such a reasonable price. Room was a little grubby but nothing too bad. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is free if you can find a spot on the street, $25 a night in the lot across the street. Bed was comfy and breakfast was pretty good.

No soap in the bathroom. The lotion was about out, the toilet seat was loose and could have been fixed with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. The breakfast offering was poorly managed and poorly laid out. The last thing is they ran out of coffee twice in about 15 min. Perhaps if the person that was working for the hotel in the breakfast room would have put her book down and tended to the breakfast room it would have been better. I’ll never stay there again and go back to Holiday Inn Express. They are constantly really good.

Convenient and breakfast has improved!

Two bedroom/two bath suite with kitchen was spacious, clean and comfortable. Small issue in the room when we arrived was quickly fixed by the efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast was adequate but coffee and food could have been hotter. Would also have liked more choices. Adequate on street free parking. Would stay there again.

Staff was very spot on with greetings and timely execution of checking guest in and out with professional personality. The morning breakfast held a variety and the staff kept the area stocked and tidy.

Staff was courteous. Great location. Restaurants nearby. We were disappointed with breakfast. Food that should have been hot was cold. Food that should have been cold was warm. Fruit was not fresh. Food was not replenished as often as it should have been. Maintenance should have taken place, in our room, prior to our arrival. The toilet tissue holder was loose, the commode was not stable. The sleeper sofa in the room smelled like urine. Parking was too far away from the hotel and there was a cost to park. We were lucky enough to find an opening to park on the street. It was quite a distance to walk to the hotel. This stay missed the mark for us. Management maintenance, and housekeeping can do better than what is being offered. It's a great location, and a great hotel. It just needs a lot of TLC.
