Hyatt Place Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch

Comfortable room and affordable option in Sarasota next to I-75. Thought breakfast was impressive for this type of hotel & offered great facilities, free parking, free wifi plus modern gym and pool. Also close to malls and walkable outside dining options.

Great Hotel, deserves more than 2.5 stars. Relatively new ( 6 years old) Spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff, very good tasty and fresh breakfast with many healthy options.The pool and jacuzzi are great, and the gym functional. Take advantage of happy hour 3-6pm, and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Nathan Benderson park or staying in Sarasota.

Nice hotel with a relaxing pool area. One recommendation would be to move the ashtrays and smoking section further away from pool area. On a windy day, the smell affects the quality of the outdoor time.

Great breakfast and clean pool

From check in to check out it was a positive experience. Very nice vibe at this hotel, modern and clean, with a bar and little restaurant. The pool area was very nice with a hot tub as well. Stayed at a Hilton property the night before and the experience was night and day better at the Hyatt.

Enjoyed my stay. Clean rooms. Nice pool and hot tub. Not bad little gym. Close to interstates thst tske you to beaches. Big mall near by. Would stay again.

Staff was very friendly and pleasant. The bartender poured well, the pool was clean and stocked with towels and they kept bringing out cookies.

Everything was really outstanding. Very comfy beds and natural dawn pillows, gym, pool and jacuzzi, as well as breakfast.

Plenty of things to do around the property. Was disappointed there was no bartender on duty.

The overall condition of the hotel is par for the price and area. Check in person was fabulous, check out was unpersonable. Biggest disappointment was NO HOUSEKEEPING for a 3 night stay! Breakfast is an upcharge and just so-so

I've been to Hyatt before and had a great experience. But this time around: our room's door lock was falling apart (over a quarter of an inch of gap where you can see the inside of the door). The entrance was nice but the rugs in the hallways and by the elevators were stained and dirty. The room rug was dirty. bathroom tiles had pink bacteria(Serratia marcescens) and black mold. The bedroom pillow cases smelled used by other guests. As if they have never been changed before.

The room was fine & comfortable. However the bathroom door in our room was a sliding barn door w/ frosted glass, so while you couldn’t clearly see the person in the bathroom, you can definitely see the silhouette of the person. Not a good idea for a mom traveling w/ a teenage son, or other scenarios too that it’s not a good idea. It needs to be a complete privacy door. Also the breakfast was a joke & gross. The first morning I found 4 pieces of hair in my yogurt. It was a very limited breakfast & some mornings there wasn’t any hot food, I.e. eggs, meat, etc. Also they didn’t check the creamer for the coffee each day as the 2nd & 3rd day it was the same bottles, & they were empty. When I asked if they had more creamer the front desk was very hesitant & at first wanted to argue w/ me that there was creamer in the bottle; once he realized there wasn’t he went in the back & brought out a whole new bottle of creamer. It’s obvious they do not check these things daily. The breakfast area was not as clean as it should be as the containers holding clean silverware had food or something stuck on the sides of the inside of the containers; also the bin holding the coffee stirrers had not been cleaned for awhile as there was a lot of spilled sugar on the bottom of it & just looked dirty. The customer service was lacking as well. If you’re looking for a hotel for the complimentary breakfast I would steer clear of this one. I will not be staying here again.

The service was great and the breakfast was a great deal. My only complaint is that the fridges are very small and do not have a mini-freezer, but overall, we really liked the room and will stay there again.

Hotel was very clean and new but I was disappointed in the following: Room had half full glass of juice on counter and soap had been opened and towel used. No Microwave in room. Room was new but had a musty smell. "Business Center" is out in then lobby with zero privacy. Bathroom mirror was pushed back.because of shelf above.sink which made it hard to see while putting on makeup. Television had limited.channels and remote did not match up with actual action. Certainly would have expected better for over $200.

The AC in our room (237) didn’t work while we stayed here and it was 76°. We felt like we paid way too much to have to stay out of our room to stay cool.

Room is spacious, towels and bedding are refreshing, beds are comfortable. The breakfast has a lot variety and very good quality.

Receptionist was super nice and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Only issue was the AC unit (a bit noisy upon start)

Our only disappointment was the location of the room's proximity to the highway. We would have liked a quieter location. However, every other metric was excellent.

I didn’t like that there’s no microwave in the room and I wasn’t able to cast my phone to watch Netflix on the TV.

The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. One standout was Abigail. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable and that was greatly appreciated.

The room was extremely clean and beds were comfortable. The bartender was amazing (!!!) and went out of her way to help any and everyone who needed assistance because the front desk clerk was almost never present. Phones were ringing off the hook and guests had difficulty obtaining room keys and having other needs met. The breakfast wasn’t great and the buffet and coffee areas were filthy and there were no clean dishes. Items were not being restocked as they ran out. Have stayed here twice before but this time it missed the mark.

This is the noisiest property I have ever stayed, and I have been travelling for 40 plus years. Kids running up and down the halls. People banging on doors to be let in. There seemed to be no noise dampening built in, just echoed throughout the halls. Staff did nothing. They were young. Dont stay here if you want a restful evening or night.

It was a family trip to a soccer tournament. Room rates were crazy, but to make it worse, the operations manager, Michael, at the front desk was far from helpful and kind during check-in. The bad attitude and service made the check-in experience unpleasant, taking over an hour to resolve an issue. He wanted to charge us for a no-show despite my call to make changes, which I had proof of. Long story short, people like Michael should not be dealing with customers if the hotel wants to retain them. I’ll definitely not go back to the Hyatt at Lakewood again.

They overbooked, gave me a key to an occupied room at 11p, then told me I had to call Orbitz to find a new place but almost everything was sold out. I finally got a place but there is still a pending charge on my credit card for three nights I didn't even stay!

Tim was nice. Called my room to see if every was good. I called down to front desk just before 8pm because my room was freezing and I couldn't get the air conditioner to go up to 71. Isaiah (Isaac?) from mtce came up to get it to 71 degrees for me. Very thankful you had mtce there on a Saturday. Lady at front desk on second shift and lady bartender were very nice.

Nice location, easy access, too much highway noise.

Ample parking lot was well lit. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable. TV options - 10. The complimentary breakfast - 10. The hotel was conveniently located to Town Center (open mall).

Liked: Close to all venues. Only small negative:.Near major highway so a little noisy but not unbearable. But also being near the highway makes great access to everything.

Great place to stay while visiting Lakewood Ranch. Excellent location. Hotel and room were clean and everything was wonderful. Will stay again if I need to come back to the area

The maid service was horrible. Cups and glasses were left for days and were not replaced until we called the desk. The bathroom was barely touched. The bar/ restaurant didn’t have half of what was listed. There was no help with luggage. The kiosk for just n case items was nearly empty. The front desk was worked by the bartender and it was just generally understaffed. Highly unacceptable for a Hyatt.
