The hotel is showing its age. They were working on painting so perhaps they are sprucing it up. My room was fine and clean, but there were two garbage bags in the hallway that didn't get moved overnight. It was fine for what I needed - a short, over-night stay near the airport. Would not have wanted to vacation there. The exercise room had several pieces of equipment that were not plugged in.

I was told locals aren't allowed to rent at this property. And the pool was closed with no warning. I was still allowed to check bit was quickly pushed aside for a customer i suppose was an "out of towner"

Very clean, safe, and affordable and what few staff I encountered were incredibly friendly - for these reasons I would return. However, they seemed to be low on staff, no one was actively managing breakfast so they were constantly running out of items. Pool was very cold and hot tub was not as hot as most with few jets.

The staff was great and cleanliness as well. However, the elevators worked only half the time, the pool was out of order, our door only latched some of the time. It seemed that maintenance was greatly needed.

My husband and I do occasional date nights and decided to give Home to Suites a try this time. The main things we wanted were the pool and spa. When we arrived we were told both were down, but we could use a pool on another property. They would not issue a discount stating that their website notified customers that the pool and spa were down for maintenance. The problem with that is that we used Expedia to book the hotel. Expedia did not mention that they were down for maintenance. When we went to the other property to use the pool, they didn't have a spa. We contacted the hotel manager after the stay. He was very kind and offered a full refund. Had that been the end of it, I would have given the hotel 4 stars. Unfortunately, we never received the refund. I had called the manager 3 more times, I was told he wasn't in the office. When I attempted to leave a voicemail, his mailbox was full. I sent him 2 emails and he never responded. I finally got in touch with the assistant manager who told me that she would approve the refund, but I needed to contact Expedia. The original person I spoke to said that he would contact them and my refund would be issued within 10 business days. I was never made aware that I could contact Expedia to have it refunded. Anyway, it has been resolved, but now the hotel will be getting 2 stars because of the run around I was given. It took 3 weeks to get this resolved.

The rooms were perfect. The kitchen area was superb! The staff were also very nice. The pool was filthy with gobs of hair both in the water and round the pool on the floor. Door locks were not working and so doors were left open to the outside.

The walls are thin, you can hear everything in other rooms. The breakfast was not good. The pool and hot tub were under maintenance while we were there. We were offered to use a "sister" hotel's pool, but no hot tub use. The pool was the worst indoor pool I've ever used. You couldn't even stand in the room without your eyes burning from the amount of chlorine they used. They then charged my card $47 two days later for unknown charges. Definitely a ripoff. I would never stay there again.

We specifically reserved a room with a tub so our toddler could have a bath. When we checked in there were none available. We only found out the pool was closed upon attempting to go to it. Even though the pool has been closed for several weeks we received no notification of this. If we had we would have chosen another hotel since it was a necessity for our family. The breakfast provided was inedible. The state of the actual room was horrendous. The faucet is not connected properly to the sink. It lifts completely every time you use it. The grout of the shower was disintegrating, making a mess whenever the shower was used. The curtain in the room did not open either. We found a lighter under the bed, a serious safety concern with a toddler.

Horrible. Room was not clean (paperclip and snack trash from previous guest was still on the floor so was obvious it hadn’t been vacuumed), bed was sloppily made, shampoo and body was bottles in the shower were empty. It’s a pet friendly hotel but one of the staff was extremely rude and gave me a hard time about my dog being in the lobby. This place is a joke.

We checked in late and parking was full were told we can't park in restaurant lot but then told we could (which made us nervous about getting towed). Night check in was new and not very helpful - but morning person was much more supportive and helpful. Room overall was cleanish but areas were really dirty (shower entrance, dishwasher exterior, etc.) so made us feel like overall cleanliness was lacking - even my husband said it seemed a little gross (and he isn't picky). We did check in late and tried to switch rooms to give the hotel a second chance but none were available so we decided to check out early. I provided feedback directly to Hilton and they emailed and acknowledged the issues with the shower and said they were addressing - so really appreciated the quick feedback. The location was really close to restaurants and the mall and the pool area looked pretty nice - but our next trip to Roanoke we will be staying someplace else.

The fact that they are doing construction on the 5th floor but fail to tell guests that who are staying on the 4th floor isnt right at all. We were woken up at 8am from construction work. It was so loud it sounded like they were coming through the floor. The walls are paper thin as is so it was not ideal as we like to sleep in while on vacation. We were moved twice, Lezonne was really helpful and accommodating, she was the ONLY good thing about that hotel. Her customer service skills are top notch! She tried her best to find us a room that wouldn't disturb us at 8am, which I appreciate a lot! Also there were spots in our room that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Very dusty and dirty. I do have pictures. We will absolutely never stay here again. Bottom tier hotel for sure, quite unfortunate.

Unfortunately, this was the worst place I have ever stayed. The air quality in the room was horrible even with the air running constantly. The room smelled like stale smoke and generally ancient grime. Think old bowling alley. There were very concerning stains on the carpet and desk chair. As I was leaving I noticed a couple of ants around the couch. The tub drain didn’t work well so I was taking a shower in standing water. It looked like there had been a leak in the bathroom ceiling that had been poorly repaired. I was up and ready to leave first thing in the morning. I mentioned this list to the counter staff as I left. The staff member was very professional and sweet, wrote down the list and said they would share it with maintenance. They went to see if there was anything that could be done about the regular room rate without prompting, but being prepaid added challenges there. I told her no worries on that, but nobody should be paying to stay in that room. I don’t know if the other rooms are better or worse, but I would absolutely never stay here again.

Check in clerk wasn’t very professional and took a personal call in the middle of talking to us, also charged us for the room even though we paid through Expedia. Everyone makes mistakes, but did not really feel welcomed or appreciated. Room was dirty and literally falling apart (faucet handle comes right off when turning on the water). Daughters feet were basically black walking around barefoot for a couple of minutes, never experienced that in a hotel room before. The room seemed nice however there were no chairs which seemed really strange with so much counter space, so we had to eat food standing up unless we wanted to eat on the couch or bed. The hallways were extremely hot, it was in the 80s during our stay and the halls seemed even hotter than outside. Our room door also didn’t latch unless you really pulled or pushed it close hard. The hall floor on the fourth floor was uneven almost like the subfloor was expanding or separating. Last thing was there was a constant smell of what I assume was marijuana lingering around the building whenever I went outside. I don’t like saying so many negative things but didn’t expect all of these issues with a Hilton property especially when this one had overall good reviews. The clerk that checked us out was very helpful though and addressed our concern with the double charge.

Sadly, we were at the hotel for five days. Upon arrival, their website was down and not able to obtain room keys. We were escorted by a kind man to our room. Our room immediately triggered our allergies with obvious mold. An active leak was noted upon rain and front desk was disinterested. Breakfast was substandard. Neighbors were noisy and smoking weed in their room. Will not be back, sadly.

I liked the hotel overall. I did have some minor issues. The shower head connection squirted water at connection site and the cords for the window shade were broken so I was unable to raise or lower the window shade. Also, on the ground floor, the floor surface transition from the rug to tiled flooring was raised with a lip. I tripped and fell on the floor when my sneaker shoetip caught the lip.

The room was huge and comfortable. It was wonderful that the kitchenette had dishes and utensils in it. The previous place we stayed did not. I liked that a curtain separated the bedroom from the sitting area.

Nice hotel and comfortable room. The air conditioning made a high pitch whining noise app might that made it near impossible to sleep. That was my biggest issue, but being able to get a good night's sleep is pretty important at a hotel.

We booked king room with tub ( gad just finished 156 mile biking trip and really wanted to soak in tub). When I asked front desk for different room they said none were available with tub on a Wednesday night.We were given gandicapped room with shower that flooded te enture bathroom floor when you took a shower. No tea or lotion in room. Carpet very worn and blinds with holes in them. No curtain to cover hole.

We checked in late and parking was full were told we can't park in restaurant lot but then told we could (which made us nervous about getting towed). Night check in was new and not very helpful - but morning person was much more supportive and helpful. Room overall was cleanish but areas were really dirty (shower entrance, dishwasher exterior, etc.) so made us feel like overall cleanliness was lacking - even my husband said it seemed a little gross (and he isn't picky). We did check in late and tried to switch rooms to give the hotel a second chance but none were available so we decided to check out early. I provided feedback directly to Hilton and they emailed and acknowledged the issues with the shower and said they were addressing - so really appreciated the quick feedback. The location was really close to restaurants and the mall and the pool area looked pretty nice - but our next trip to Roanoke we will be staying someplace else.

We had just arrived from Philadelphia and we were tired and a little out of sorts. Our receptionist, Esmeralda Johnson was extremely pleasant and helpful. She took care of all of our requests in a cheerful manner. We could not have asked for a better greeting. The room was nice and clean. It was an excellent stay.

My husband and I do occasional date nights and decided to give Home to Suites a try this time. The main things we wanted were the pool and spa. When we arrived we were told both were down, but we could use a pool on another property. They would not issue a discount stating that their website notified customers that the pool and spa were down for maintenance. The problem with that is that we used Expedia to book the hotel. Expedia did not mention that they were down for maintenance. When we went to the other property to use the pool, they didn't have a spa. We contacted the hotel manager after the stay. He was very kind and offered a full refund. Had that been the end of it, I would have given the hotel 4 stars. Unfortunately, we never received the refund. I had called the manager 3 more times, I was told he wasn't in the office. When I attempted to leave a voicemail, his mailbox was full. I sent him 2 emails and he never responded. I finally got in touch with the assistant manager who told me that she would approve the refund, but I needed to contact Expedia. The original person I spoke to said that he would contact them and my refund would be issued within 10 business days. I was never made aware that I could contact Expedia to have it refunded. Anyway, it has been resolved, but now the hotel will be getting 2 stars because of the run around I was given. It took 3 weeks to get this resolved.

The customer service is top tier. The night shift staff five stars for sure. We were greeted with a smile and even had treats for the kids. Overall the stay was amazing and hotel was very accommodating.

Upon arrival the two women at the desk seemed aggitated and disgruntled. Not a good initial look! The sink was stopped up and the TV was not working - I had to fix both, I was given the run around about a late checkout.

I loved how big the room felt here and it is so nice to have the kitchen in your room, even if I only used the fridge and sink. The staff here is really nice and the location is great. Lots of places to eat across the street and right down the road from Starbucks and the airport. I'm sure I'll be back.

Lovely hotel overall! Very friendly and helpful staff. My husband and I were traveling with our 2 and 4 year olds. My dad also was traveling with us and they were able to give us adjoining rooms. We also brought our cat. They have a $50 non-refundable pet fee, but I'm just thankful they are accommodating to pets. This was our first time traveling with a pet so we are glad it went so well. Breakfast was wonderful. There were so many options from make your own waffles to yummy bacon, eggs, cereal, juice, coffee, bread, muffins, and more. The only disappointment was that the pool and jacuzzi were closed for our stay. The exercise room looked very nice. The hotel is conveniently located near many restaurants and shopping. We love Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen down the road. Everything was quite clean from the lobby to the rooms. My dad's room did have a very loose faucet in the bathroom (room 224). I also found a white dental pick on the floor by our bed in room 222. Other than those 2 little things our rooms were very nice and smelled fresh. The air kept the rooms nice and cool. The bedding smelled fresh and clean. There was extra bedding in the cabinet for the couch that turned into a bed that was convenient and we utilized for my youngest daughter. The suite rooms we had with the kitchenette had a dishwasher, sink, dishes, silverware, toaster, fridge, and other cooking instruments. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. Would stay here again!

Hotel was in good location and the room was fine. The issue we had was at Breakfast on both days. They kept running out of things. There were no cereal bowls. They ran out of Coffee. We had to wait a long time to get those. The service person was not polite or friendly. A number of customers were upset. On the other hand, the receptionists were very polite and helpful.

I liked the room but the tv didn’t work. We had to sign in our personal account to watch anything.Thr food wasn’t great. There was no seasoning on things the waffles had no taste, and the eggs were over cooked. Now about the reservation thru Expedia was handled terribly. They called me at 10pm the night before my arrival and moved us to a different hotel. Then I was told that I wouldn’t be charged when in fact I was charged for both motels.now I am waiting for results. They are quick to charge me but you have to wait for your refund 72 hours.

Very clean, safe, and affordable and what few staff I encountered were incredibly friendly - for these reasons I would return. However, they seemed to be low on staff, no one was actively managing breakfast so they were constantly running out of items. Pool was very cold and hot tub was not as hot as most with few jets.

Room conditions were good and staff was very good. Lots of pet noises and animals allowed in the dining area. Breakfast was basic and inadequate. Had very little taste and just not appealing at all. Quite a shame because I think I will look for other accomodations next time in spite of the good location and overall good comfort.

Free Breakfast was awful! If you are not going to have at least toast and coffee DON'T Advertise that you will! The hours were supposed to be thru 10 am . By 7:30 am there was no orange juice. No butter for toast and no cereal in all three containers. There was no fruit at all and the eggs looked to be plastic. If you are not going to serve a minimal breakfast don't advertise it. If I had known I would have picked a different hotel or went out to breakfast.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice now, and just like my first visit, my experience was great. The staff was very accommodating, and my room was extremely clean and comfortable. The only downside during this stay was that the continental breakfast was not really available on Tuesday morning. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and have no complaints. I would definitely stay here again!
