The property was clean and well kept. however, it was very difficult to get from the parking garage to the check in desk because there are no signs and no instructions as to where it is. the staff we dealt with was very surly and short-tempered. It was obvious that I was handicapped and walking with a cane. But nobody would make any concession to make it easier for me to check in. When I had a question rather than answered on the phone I was told I had to go all the way down to the front desk to ask my question so the manager could answer me. The escalators from the casino floor to the second floor were out of order. I had to step up 20 scares with my bad legs to get there.

The hotel is lovely, staff were good too. only problem we had was the pool was closed and we had to wait for the manager to return from a meeting as he had the ONLY key.

The hotel is not a resort by any means, there is a very basic gym and pool (don’t think swim up bar and lazy river but a regular backyard pool), the lobby area is pretty bare with minimal eating and zero shopping. However, the price is cheaper than other resort hotels in the area, and the rooms are very big. The casino on the smaller end, but feels open/well spaced. Overall it was a good hotel and would consider staying there again, just know what you are getting.

No where did it say the poolos 2 ONLY. That's very disturbing and rude. No family ahould consider this hotel. There isn't anything for teens to do. It was a waste of money.

One elevator only working entire stay. Pool closed. Limited eating on site. Breakfast option only a DD. We left site to a Mc D. One restaurant open in evening had limited staff and they were struggling to keep up and appeared frustrated. Yes half price compared to GN, but you get what you pay for. We left one day early because it was that bad. Will not be back.

Gorgeous room but it ended there. The bathroom tile was visibly tacky- almost like some took a spray gun loaded with gum. But it wouldn’t wipe up so I guess that’s there forever. Mold in the shower. Then every 40 minutes the AC unit made a loud canon like sound ALL NIGHT LONG. No sleep. Then to top it off… had to take a cold shower because there was no hot water!! Called front desk who sent maintenance; only for him to come up and say ‘yeah we are busy so give it 30 minutes and maybe you’ll have hot water, maybe’ Complained of all these things at check out only to be told ‘well I’ll take the resort fee off’ Geez, wow, so great of you. Awful stay.

It has so much potential to be great. The pitfalls we experienced were dirty room: dirty in and around the bathroom mostly- like poorly cleaned up after construction. The air conditioner was not functioning properly and made a loud sound when it would kick on. The accessibility to the hotel portion of the casino is lacking- poor signage and lengthy winding pathway to get where you need to be. Pros- staff is friendly, limited but decent food options, cute decor in the rooms.

Only bath towels in room. Had to ask every day if they had any face or hand towels. They usually did not. We were there 5 days and room was never cleaned. Nothing was replenished unless you found someone to ask, and they did not always have it. Used condom found under my sister’ s bed. Male housekeeper walked into her room unannounced while she was dressing. Trash build up in room after 5 days. Rooms were nicely decorated and large.

I had an accident 3 days prior to my stay, we called to change room to handicap room and reserve a wheelchair. We were told no problem. Upon arrival security refused to provide the wheelchair, I sat in the backseat of my car for 45 minutes waiting for a wheelchair to ride to my room. The room was switched to handicap but was not clean. After 15 minutes in my room, they were phoning for return of chair. Keep in mind I can not put any weight on my left foot. We returned the chair after a trip to bathroom and to bed. There were 3red fingernails on the carpets, 1 clean towel and 1 dirty towel. The ice maker down the hall provided enough ice for 2 small drinks at a time. We had to make several trips. I will say some of the staff was very accommodating, though the supervisors were not. This was our 4th and FINAL stop at the Horseshoe in Lake Charles.

The room was ok. What me and my husband didn’t like the room was so hot we couldn’t even sleep good at all. They put us in another room it was the same. We didn’t sleep well at all. I will not be back. A bad experience for us.

Everything was good except in the room there was a problem with the air condition. We walked in and the room was freezing, then half an hour later it seemed like the heater came on. We did mention it to the front desk and they said they would check it. After we came back from the casino the room was real cold but our clothes that was left on the sofa were wet and on the counter there was water. In the middle of the night it got hot again. In the morning we went to the front desk and told them again and that’s when they gave us a different room, after that it was a lot better.

The property was unsecured from the parking garage to the entrance of the building. There were no directions on the inside as how to get to the room and the check in was a electric check in machine that gave you your keys to your hotel and allowed you into the hotel area were the rooms were without your key. We called for pillows cases and the staff said they didn’t have any. I wears unable to connect to the WiFi and my room window looked out into a concrete storage room. I waked to the front desk and tolled them I wanted to check out immediately and wanted to be refunded for my attempted stay. The front desk clerk immediately said ok contact Expedia to get your refund and never tried to accommodate or address any concerns. The whole place was very sketchy including the front desk clerk almost like some kind of funny business is taking place at the property.

My stay was okay. I went to use the kiosk to check in since someone else was at the counter. I went through the entire process only to get a message that the kiosk was now out of order. I checked in and the person was not welcoming. I get to the room and the barn door came off track. Someone was supposed to come that evening to fix it but never came. Then my brother used the toilet and the flap and handle broke. I asked for an iron and it never came even though Chris at the front desk said it was checked off as being sent to my room. It was not what I expected and it would be nice to be compensated with at least a partial refund. Especially since we never got clean towels on our stay and again no iron.

The hotel looks very nice and clean but the service is horrible. I asked 4 different times for an iron and some coffee packets because my room was missing them. They never delivered any and also housekeeping never cleaned my room once during my weekend stay.

Pool was great. People friendly. Room was very nice and beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. Only con is it is out of the way and you need a car. Nothing is in walking distance such as parks, food, etc.

Mixed understanding of what is meant by area around property. The Horseshoe area is very well done. Easy parking, lovely landscaping, the lake on one side. However, it is surrounded by an industrial and run down area (at least what is driven through the last mile, or so, to get here). But don’t let that stop you from coming. The facility is new and well done.

No issues at all. Clean with polite staff and basically what you would expect in a Louisiana casino experience. This is not the strip in Vegas and petrochem is king in Lake Charles so factor that into the clientele and surroundings but I’ve stayed twice and would do again as it is convenient to Houston. Amazing steak at Gordon Ramsay’s and don’t miss Steamboat Bill’s over the bridge for poboys.

Great hotel; however, all the advertised restaurants except for the very expensive Gordon Ramsey’s Steakhouse and a relatively expensive (pizza and a salad $43) were non existent. I couldn’t tell if they hadn’t been opened yet or if they had been shut down. Brew Brothers still shows on the website, but I never found it.

Received an upgrade to a suite, hadn’t asked for one, but suite was fabulous. Easy machine check in, and check out on rom tv, too easy. Lost a few $ in casino but hey. Highly recommended .p Would suggest some breakfast options, at the minute is just Dunkin’ Donuts, not for everyone.

3 places to eat. One I have eaten in several times and the food is very good. This time I have health concerns that limit any fast food types. There were no healthier items available. Rooms are spacious and comfortable but I’m one who pays attention to raveling carpet and dirty baseboards and unstable toilets (it rocked when sitting down). I’ll still choose this hotel over several others in the area as it’s convenient to I-10 but quite.

Great room but that's it. Super Limited food options, you have to drive to eat? Brew Brothers is one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at. No Coffee available downstairs? Just terrible. Room though is spectacular.

Employee at the Duncan Donuts was rude and short tempered. They were supposed to open at 6:30. We asked if they were close to opening at 6:35 and the employee snapped back with "WE'RE CLOSED". Not exactly the response we were expecting.

My only complaint is if you choose to self-park, it is confusing and a very long walk with bags to your room. They would not let me roll my carryon through the casino so that made for a very long walk. I would recommend valet. Other than that, it was great. Food is excellent.
