Very refined and traditional inn, where the incredibly gracious host makes you feel straight at home. Breakfast is lovely, the whole hotel is spotless, and the onsen bath is a definite highlight. Very quiet neighbourhood, with all the major attractions a bus ride away. I hope to visit again soon.

This place was awesome, excellent service, you feel the tradition in the place. Breakfast was delicious, the tea ceremony was amazing. The Onsen and the room were cozy and we left rested and renovated

Our two-night stay at Ryokan Tori was the real highlight of our trip. It is located conveniently close to the Golden Temple and other historic sites. The area is pleasantly quiet, feels local, away from the crowds, and has great places to eat. The Ryokan is beautiful, lovingly furnished with antiques and with a beautiful courtyard with mossy stones, trees, and a fountain. At night we sat on our room’s covered balcony and just enjoyed the space — it was so peaceful. Most importantly, you won’t find any better hosts. Not only were we treated to a welcome tea and treat, a tea ceremony, and had daily baths prepared — we were also able to go to our hosts with any questions about the area, local restaurants, etc. They were always available and we were sad to leave so soon. We enjoyed the space, the excellent food (my ridiculous inability to eat fish was gracefully catered for), and the conversations with our hosts. We hope to return soon. If you are thinking of booking, you found a great place. 😌
