InterContinental Santiago by IHG

this hotel is not what you could expect when booking an interconti. everything is scrached, broken, dirty. black mold in showers, non working devices, carpet where you‘d like to put your bare feet on. the whole hotel is a desaster and needs to be restored completely.

It was good, as expected of the Intercontinental

We recently stayed at Intercontinental in Buenas Aires and it was spectacular, 5 star. Expecting a somewhat similar stay, but Santiago has not been maintained with dirty carpets, chipped paint and marble, torn shears, wallpaper ripped, a bed of dirt where plants once were in the lobby, etc. It needs updating or management that cares. Very disappointed!

On arrival, we were informed that the room was not yet available. In the end we finally got into it after 5pm. The first night's sleep was fitful due to the AC not operating properly. Despite servicing the next morning, the same problem occurred the second night. In the middle of that night we were offered a temporary room to sleep in and then finally relocated to another for the third and final. night. Front line staff were sympathetic but not empowered to fix the problem. Otherwise, should note some staff that were helpful: Valentina in the business lounge, the travel concierge and the gym attendant. The business lounge refreshments both morning and evening are nicely done but the rooms in that tower are not as current as the new tower. Breakfast service in the new/main tower is uneven as is the quality. Nice quiet pool on the top of the main tower (- just above the gym). Hotel is located nearby a very large mall and a variety of restaurants though distant from the historical downtown.
