Second stay there, still excellent. Shared kitchen & coworking space on the last floor (please, be respectful & respect the rules). Cute amd comfortable pods for sleeping. Clean showers and toilets.

Truly fun and comfortable place to stay in Kyoto! Appreciated the quiet hours, comfortable capsule beds, and clean environment in all spaces. The lounge area was a great place to gather before and after each day and enjoy some downtime and food. Really appreciated the self-service kitchen area. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Best hostel I have ever stayed in. Free espresso drinks, kitchen, work areas and 1 hour nightly free beer. Great staff too

Situated right on a main strip, there is no shortage of food or shopping options. Community spaces were functional. I would bother buying the breakfast next time, given the cost and the amount of options outside. Coffee machine could be improved. Very weak! Washing machine and dryer worked well and the shower was lovely. My pod was almost completely quiet at night. I appreciated everyone sticking to the rules. These capsules are bigger than most. I appreciated being able to stand up. Luggage is stored directly under the bed and there is a small safe for valuables. I never felt unsafe, but there’s only a scroll down curtain between your space and everyone else. I stayed for 2 nights and just scrolled down the curtains to leave… but it’s not a “lock up”. Free beer between 5:30 and 6:30 was a nice touch and people did mingle. I’m 50 and felt out of place. Yes I am generation X and the place was clearly full of millennials.. hence the name … I had a work call at 10pm, with African and Canada time zones and was able to use a private booth for the call.. which I appreciated. They have a rate for digital nomads for 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month etc… so there was a “work room”, a meeting room plus 3 private booths for calls.

Not your standard pod hotel in Japan! Big bed, great communal facilities, private showers, free beer at happy hour, great location. Highly recommend.

Perfect for solo travelers coming to Kyoto. Great location, great accommodation. Occasional noise from folks getting in late, but that’s to be expected. Easy access, clean showers, nice coworking space in the lobby.

Great place to stay as a capsule hotel. The spaces to sleep are large and you can control the lights, fan and recliner bed from an iPod on the wall. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. The common area is large and welcoming and has a lot of places to chill out. The phone booths were very helpful as well. Overall the place is very modern and has a great atmosphere. The hotel is right next to the Teramachi strip malls and is overall in a great location for public transport and exploration. I would definitely book here again

This property is easily reachable from the Kyoto Station by bus. Less than a 15 minute ride. It is within walking distance of the Nikishi Market. There is a women’s only floor available and can only be accessed with room key. The bed was wonderful. It was able to raise and lower by remote control. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were amazing! There is a kitchen area where you could prepare food. The breakfast was not really worth the price of the ticket. There was yogurt and juice and some breakfast breads. They also served soup for breakfast. There were NO proteins..eggs, bacon sausage. And no fresh fruit. There is a wonderful bakery& cafe within 4 blocks. Definitely worth the walk. Overall, I was very pleased and would stay here again.

Brilliant location. Very comfortable bed and was very quiet and so had a perfect nights sleep. The bathroom was spotless and had everything you needed. Did my washing, whilst relaxing in the bath! A great sociable workspace if needed. Loved it and so highly recommend you stay here.

Polite staff; clean; luggage storage. Good location on a very busy street packed with restaurants etc and a supermarket over the road. There’s an hour of Free Beer every night - it was pretty bad lager, think Fosters or something, but can’t complain. I liked the privacy of the individual cubicles and the way the beds could be controlled between flat and sitting up; I had a problem with my controller at one point but it was quickly sorted out by the staff. The cubicle was a little hot at night even with its fan on (which was quite loud). The showers were very good and clean but the toilet cubicles were tiny. I also didn’t like the fact the toilets were unisex; call me old fashioned but I don’t particularly like having to try to defecate as quietly as possible in a completely silent lavatory while there’s an attractive girl putting her makeup on immediately outside the door. The lifts in this place drive me crazy: reception/kitchen is on the 8th floor - I was staying on the 7th floor - and the lifts were soooo slow and would sometime drop me at a random floor in the other direction I wanted to go. For some reason, guests were not allowed access to the stairway so Every time I went up to the kitchen I would have to use those damn lifts rather than just using the stairs as a normal person would and should. Overall not a bad place to stay but I would personally not stay there again

Warm, professional staff and spotless facilities. The location is perfect for exploring Kyoto’s famous sites. My second stay here—and I’ll gladly return again. Thank you again to the staff for making our stay a pleasant one.

Staff were lovely and the hotel was so clean and comfortable. Location was central to a lot of shopping and dining options. Would absolutely stay here again. If you're considering a capsule/hostel stay in Japan, I'd highly recommend this one.

The curtains looks dirty. Orthers are good.

The sleeping floor was quiet and the bathrooms were clean and nice. It’s a good walkable area too.

This place is great. A small complaint. Someone should be loading the body wash more often. Finding it empty .... ughhh It was quiet. I love the "bed alarm" system. A great space!

Really enjoyed my time as a solo traveler many people here were very social and I ended up making so many friends even thought I was only there for two days. The bed was comfortable and for a capsule hotel it was great !

Wasn’t sure what to expect from this place prior to booking it as I booked a little late. Great location. Washroom/showers are all shared but very clean and well maintained. I did find the humidity a little low but other than that, no complaints. I had concerns when I first looked inside my capsule that the bed would not be large enough, but I’m 6’0 and had plenty of room when I was sleeping. Last but not least, do take advantage of the free beer hour. It’ll give you a good chance to unwind after a long day and mingle with the other guests.

The cinematic, theatre-pod was over-rated. I could not even get my projector to work, despite help. Another person showed me theirs and it's displayed against the privacy screen/blind for the pod. This moves and isn't straight so you get a very distorted image. You have to play videos from your personal device, which I was not prepared for. I thought there would be a film or TV selection, aircraft-style. The check in process was the most impersonal check-in experience I have ever experienced. My passport was demanded when I asked to drop off my backpack ahead of check in. My bag was picked up by a non-load bearing strap after asking for it to be picked up elsewhere. Later, I was welcomed warmly but the check-in process was relayed in a robot style with a well-versed monologue being shared by a disinterested receptionist. You also have to watch a video lasting several minutes, whilst others wait awkwardly behind you. I had breakfast added to my stay and this was the most surprising aspect of my stay. Keen to leave for a particular train, I handed my tray back to a counter where staff were washing up and thanked them. I was instructed to wash, dry and put away all the crockery, glasses and utensils myself. I have never experienced a place where you have a meal and then expected to clean up after yourself. Otherwise, the best thing was that shower facilities were on the same level as the single-sex bedroom and included a deep bath in one cubicle. The larger bed was comfortable.

The setup technology is next level, with iPods controlling lights and bed. The location is very good too, right next to the Nishiki market, major shopping areas and the Gion district.

Like a capsule hotel for high maintenance people— the beds were so comfortable and were controlled by an iPod for switching between flat bed and sofa form affording maximizing the pod space & comfortability.

This was my first "Capsule" hotel, and overall it was pretty great. being 6\'2" I appreciated the "capsule" had a full size bed, in pod storage, both under the bed and a shelf, along with app/iPod capsule controls! I also found that the bed being adjustable to almost a couch/recliner, made the capsule more functional. All that being said The communal area was great, clean and full of amenities and an excellent space for meeting and chatting with other travelers. Accommodation floors were generally clean and well maintained, which clear rules and notices about quiet hours. I would recommend utilizing the earplugs that are offered if you are a light sleeper as the sounds of other units opening closing/luggage being accessed and re-packed and snoring may disrupt you. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Being able to store luggage before check in and after checkout, along with access to bikes for rent was really great!

Was the best capsule hotel I stayed at in the 7-8 I stayed in throughout Japan! Love the beds very comfortable and great alarm system for waking up quietly!

Generally clean and well equipped, but has the most aggressive check out policy I’ve ever seen - it’s at 10am, and by 10:10 they have someone pushing you out and charging late check out fees. The social area is well equipped if you are working, but not designed for travelling. Feels like you’re hanging out in a WeWork.

Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here again.

Kept up all night by people coming in and out of the room. People were throwing up loudly and going in an out of the bathroom to throw up all throughout the night. Reception did not care and made us pay for the second night even though we checked out after the first night for this reason.

丸亀製麺が好きで、京都市役所駅の近くにありますし、 三条駅に近いので、大阪と京都の往復は、便利です。

It is the most conviniently placed hostel so close to shopping and other facilities, can be very social during beer hour but quiet in the rooms in your looking for solitude. The staff were super helpful and helped me deliver my luggage to the next hotel as well. 10/10 stay. Would stay again :)

The staff are very helpful. If you need to book restaurants via phone, the reception will help do this if you can't speak Japanese.

Great hostel would absolutely book again in the future close to the nishiki market makes shopping and finding good dining spot easy. The staff was excellent all spoke english all very kind. The beds were comfy, the people were cool, and the free beer was great.

Great location! Block away from the river which was so beautiful and peaceful especially first thing in the morning, close lots of shopping and restaurants, as well as the Gion district. The bed was so comfy and adjustable!

The staff was friendly, once you set foot on the property you can feel the great vibe that it has, the location is great, it offers easy access to the bus and is not too far from the subway station, the rooms are so modern with the iPod as a remote to control the electricity and the bed; to make it even more amazing I would add a button to control the courtain. The free coffee station and the hour for free beer were an amazing plus. The hotel is next to a Main Street with a very walkable area close to restaurants and shopping.

It is likely that you might hear another person snoring or making noise throughout the night, but if you are prepared to put up with it or invest in ear plug, then this is the place; it's very clean and great facility. Perfect location. The hotel is bang in the middle of all the attractions, and lots of great food locations nearby. Great light breakfast - also free refillable. You get a free beer in the evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The pod is very comfortable and you have your own fan if it is too hot. The bed is very adjustable and you can adjust the bed to your own preference. I would defintely stay there again. If you wants lot of privacy then this is not quite right for you.

Was apprehensive about staying in a capsule hotel, The Millennial changed this. I loved the ipod managed units especially the bed to sofa function, projector and the individual fans. Guests were very respectful and quiet at night so slept well. From checking in to out, staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. Free tea and coffee, beer and snacks in the evening, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful communal areas, books and other thoughtful little details all contributed to a wonderful stay in Kyoto. Also, the location is perfect for visiting the sights and shopping. Like many before me, I've fallen in love with Japan and its people.

The pod was very comfortable and had an air vent coming in which was great. I dont recommend the breakfast as it only had a couple of small pastries to choose from or yogurt or soup.

I loved my stay at The Millennials! The pods, bathrooms and common areas were all very clean. I met a lot of cool people there and the beer happy hour definitely is great for connecting with others. I don't know if I would get the breakfast again. It's only soup, buns, juice and yogurt. I'm dairy free so could only have the soup and buns with juice. It was good, just very small and minimal. It's more worth it to just go to one of the many restaurants nearby. They let you keep your bags before check in or after checkout which is useful. I would definitely stay again!
