The hotel and rooms are gorgeous and in a great location. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was great and the room was huge, which is not a common thing among hotels in Europe... so this was a definite plus for our last night in Europe, before a long flight home the next day. Also, our room had a wall of windows with a view of the water. All in all great. The only reason I didn't give 5/5 is because the people in the room above us were extremely loud, heavy walkers, banging and slamming things down on the floor above us until about 1030pm, it resumed for the majority of the next morning. This is obviously not controllable or at the fault of the hotel - and keeping in mind that it is a very old building, where perfect sound-proofing is not possible. There was not other crazy noice issues, but the elephants above did drag the experience down a little bit.

The hotel has a nice bar in the entry area and there were a few steps to get in from the street. Staff was nice and our room was available when we arrived quite early. It was near the central station but not quite in the mix of all of the touristy areas, which made it less chaotic. It was still well within walking distance to everything.
