It was definitely an experience. I enjoyed my stay overall. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, I felt safe, it was easy check in. The owner was very friendly. My only issue was the parking. It was horrendous. And you have to bring everything you own in with you because it’s street parking and well ya know it’s Portland. So I had to lug all my stuff many blocks and up a few flights of stairs.

Very difficult parking if you are bringing a car. We often had to walk 4 blocks to the hotel. It's run like a hotel so it is a bit run down and you will share a restroom. Nice hosts and a great location.

such a lovely place hosted by the friendliest fella!! very quaint and cozy for such a centralized location in downtown portland—walkable to lots of great food spots. the only downside is the parking. it was an absolute pain trying to find street parking on a bustling saturday night, even with a permit we couldn’t find a spot. nevertheless, Tim was still very responsive and patient with us and helped us out a lot! i appreciate his hospitality very much and cannot recommend this place enough.

Had a great stay here. They were super accommodating and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were all pretty spotless. So nice to have a kitchen available, as well!

I had an amazing time at the Portland International Guest House. The room was so clean. The shared bathrooms were immaculate. With 3, I never had to wait to use one. All of the items available for breakfast were from Trader Joe’s and were a nice way to start the day. Thomas and Stephen were the absolute best hosts. Love this place because it feels like a home away from home. Unique concept of accommodations for guests - bed and breakfast without a real breakfast but with the convenience of a few breakfast items and kitchen/dining space for preparing a simple meal. Clean and cosy with well explained rules.

The room was quite nice in a very walkable area. The shared bathroom was never an issue because there aren’t that many rooms and even if one was being used there was always another open. Check in was easy and the owners I met briefly were very nice

I had such a nice stay. The bathrooms and kitchen were shared, but I didn't see anyone else during my stay. The location is excellent. Portable AC was appreciated since my room was on the top floor. Tim clearly has put in a lot of effort to make clear signage so all spaces could be clean and comfy for all guests.

My son and I really loved staying at this place and are going back again in a few days when we pass through Portland again. It was super clean. Our room was large. The kitchen / common area worked great for us. The person working was readily available by phone, really helpful, but not in our way at all. It's a beautiful old home in a really lovely urban residential area. We loved walking in the nearby huge park. We highly recommend this place, and it was worth the parking issues that are present due to the urban location.

I wasn’t able to get a parking permit in time but had no issues finding a street spot during the week. Room two is where I stayed. Clear instructions for check in/check out. It’s very basic (exactly what you expect for the price/description) and clean. Never had to wait for a bathroom and felt it was perfect for me (a place to sleep/shower) on a solo trip. Thank you!

The outside of the hotel/ home is beautiful, I love and appreciate well kept historic homes and the neighborhood. I stayed in room #4, which is cozy and big enough for me to move around and lay/ sleep in both of the beds. The decorations are well thought out and added to the ambiance to this great home/ hotel. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone and will rebook when I'm in Portland again.

Proper downtown is less than a mile away, public transit options are NUMEROUS (and well organized due to the city's focus), Trader Joe's and Fred Meyer's are walkable, and the nightlife options are incredible. The hosts for the shared living space are incredibly friendly and prompt on their communication. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I had more business in the city.

Absolutely lovely stay. Tim greeted us at check-in; he was kind and happy to help! I loved that they had recycle and compost bins in the kitchen. Our stay was easy breezy, and I can't wait to come back!

This was the perfect place for someone new to the area. Our host gave excellent direction for all details, including parking (which could be extremely daunting without their expertise), places to visit, and house rules. The space was lovely, situated in a beautiful neighborhood with lots of food and shopping options nearby. And the bed was absolutely fantastic. It was perfectly comfortable after a busy day of hiking and taking in the sights!

Great place to stay! I went by myself and felt it a safe and area to walk around, go out for eating and explore. The rooms are very comfortable. The property was very cute and conveniently located, we walked to both of the area's large hiking trail networks and all through the arboretum, and then could walk right back out the entrance a few blocks away.

The property is in a perfect location in a very fun area of Portland. Proper downtown is less than a mile away, public transit options are NUMEROUS (and well organized due to the city's focus), Trader Joe's and Fred Meyer's are walkable, and the nightlife options are incredible. The hosts for the shared living space are incredibly friendly and prompt on their communication. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I had more business in the city.

I selected this property for the closeness to Providence Park, but it was so central for downtown. The access to trader joes was amazing. And there’s so many transit options right there. The staff were always friends and it was always clean. I knew if I needed anything I’d be able to reach out. My new go to spot for Portland.

Great neighborhood! Safe, walkable, close to a lot of great places. (Including Trader Joe’s next door, but also tons of restaurants, shops, and Washington Park.) I wasn’t able to get a parking permit in time but had no issues finding a street spot during the week. Room two is where I stayed. Clear instructions for check in/check out. It’s very basic (exactly what you expect for the price/description) and clean. Never had to wait for a bathroom and felt it was perfect for me (a place to sleep/shower) on a solo trip. Thank you!

Super clean, organized, comfy place. As it is an older wooden building, the floors/stairs are very creaky, and our door would only close properly if we lifted it up, otherwise the wind from an open window would blow it open (or maybe ghosts?? mysterious), however you can get around this by locking the door. The breakfast options weren't great - plain cheerios or plain corn flakes, there was also apple & cinnamon oatmeal - but I did appreciate the different milk options. The unsweetened vanilla almond milk was nice. I wouldn't walk around the area in the evening/at night as there were plenty of shady characters - at one point we saw a lady very blatantly peeking into vehicles, so definitely lock your cars and bring belongings inside. However, there were so many cute restaurants/cafes/shops/pubs within walking distance, and walking around during the day was really nice.

The host Tim was very friendly and very informative. He responded very quickly to any questions. Comfortable beds. House was immaculate and charming. Breakfast was veru basic but included in the cost. Parking is difficult like any large city.

First time staying in Portland and this is a great option! Good location close to lots of fun places. The guesthouse was clean and quiet. Had access to a shared fridge, toaster and microwave. Will make a point to stay here again next time I find myself in the area.

I had an amazing time at the Portland International Guest House. The room was so clean. The shared bathrooms were immaculate. With 3, I never had to wait to use one. All of the items available for breakfast were from Trader Joe’s and were a nice way to start the day. Thomas and Stephen were the absolute best hosts. They shared ideas for things to do and places to eat. I travel solo every summer and this was the best house I have stayed at. Thank you for your hospitality! Love you guys and the fun city!

Love this place because it feels like a home away from home. Unique concept of accommodations for guests - bed and breakfast without a real breakfast but with the convenience of a few breakfast items and kitchen/dining space for preparing a simple meal. Clean and cosy with well explained rules.

I was able to buy food at near-by Trader Joe's for the evening. There were breakfast options at the Guesthouse, but I bought some extra food. It was so nice that there were dishes and silverware to use. Comfortable sitting in the kitchenette. The bedroom was spacious and bed very comfortable. There was a good quality space heater to use if needed. Very quiet location though it is in a popular part of Portland. Notes of other interesting and good quality restaurants, stores, and site-seeing options close-by. It's a much nicer vibe than staying in a hotel.
