Super friendly and easy check-in. It's hard to find a low-cost room with a bigger family, but their 3 bed room is extremely affordable. AC blows cold and shower has hot water, park right outside your door with secure keypad entry. Easy to find right on the highway. Very clean and quiet.

This Inn was spacious, clean and comfortable. It is an old hotel that has owned and maintained this property for 40 Years. The bed gave us a good nights sleep. No doors slamming and very quiet. We stayed here because it was pet friendly. We would stay here again if in the area. Thank you to our hosts who do a great job of maintaining this older hotel.

Extremely friendly staff. Very clean room. Parking in front of door makes it very easy to unload and load. Electronic lock makes it very easy to check out. This was my second time staying here, and I would definitely do it again if passing through this area.

The Golden Inn is a great motel! Super friendly and welcoming owner checked me in, gave suggestion on a great place to grab dinner, room was huge with 3 beds, very clean, smelled fresh, owner had provided extra towels for our party of 4 and our 2 fur babies who had a great place to walk after a 15 hr drive in the car, you park right in front of your door, all are a plus! We will definitely be back!

Great old school motel. A lot of original fixtures which we loved. Though old the place was spotless. The owners were super friendly and helpful. The only thing we would suggest is outside garbage can. They are pet friendly but when we walked our pup and cleaned up after there was no garbage can to place the poop bag. Could use new carpets. They were clean but worn. I would recommend this place.

The Golden Inn is a wonderful motel. There’s nothing fancy or cutting edge, but it’s clean, comfortable and incredibly well cared for. The owners are wonderful and cleanly take great pride in the establishment. The grounds are beautiful with hummingbird feeders and flowers, and the farm stand across the road has great coffee and doughnuts! I’ll go out of my way to come back.

The lady checking us in was great! She was friendly, informative & very welcoming. There was an odor in the room which was probably just because the AC hadn’t been turned on. But they didn’t know exactly when we would arrive so that was ok. That odor disappeared after running the AC. The bed was very comfortable, as was the temperature and function of the AC. We slept well! My concern is that the floors in the bathroom needed a thorough cleaning. Just around the perimeter, and about 2” from the wall, out onto the tile, very dusty under and along the baseboard heater. All other areas seemed very clean! This hotel could be charming but many structural repairs are needed. The caulking around the windows is cracked. Much disrepair. There is what could be a lovely front yard area with a wonderful fountain, but it appears to have been out of commission for some time, and the area not kept up. It seems the owners are trying, but so much is needed.

Big ordeal with ordering through website got there and couldn’t charge wife’s card that held and reserved the room got there from out of town and wife couldn’t pay for room over phone or internet. The husband and wife duo who run this place are welcoming and helpful. Checkin is straightforward and quick. The room is old-school and clean and comfortable. Firm bed, warm blankets, and a heater and a/c that you have full control of. There’s a tv with free Hulu and you can log in to your own accounts if you want. It was quiet and cozy. If you ever thought you’d enjoy staying at the Schitt’s Creek Hotel, you’ll love this. No sass from the staff though :) A nifty thing I’d never seen before that seemed economical and good for the environment: the shampoo/conditioner was in little ketchup-like packets. I loved that I wasn’t leaving a half-empty plastic bottle behind!

It was a nice old time inn. The room was spacious, TV had a lot of channels, there was a grass patch to take the dog out. The bathroom was a bit outdated but shower was hot and had good water pressure. Very good value for money.

Really clean; very organized, well laid out, large room, great communication with front-desk - good got keycode ahead of time, and immediately got into room. Great for an overnight stay. Only downside was mattress wasn't too comfortable - felt springs throughout.

Lovely vintage style motel in a quiet location, but close enough to 70 for easy access. It was just like the kind of places I stayed in as a child on family road trips! Very clean and well kept. Lea Ann was thoughtful, with great communication. If ever back in the area, I would choose to stay here again in a heartbeat!

Our stay at the Golden motel in New Paris, in Ohio just on the border from Illinois. It was a very nice motel, dated, but the room was very nice. The atmosphere was peaceful, far enough away from the freeway to not hear traffic and with a nice green area in front, much to our dog Kompis’ delight. There were window boxes with flowers and hummingbird feeders placed around about next to flowers. Lea Ann was very helpful with personal messages and check-in instructions by text. Good stay.

This was our second stay and the property was clean and the room is quiet. It’s nothing fancy but it’s clean, comfortable and the owner is very helpful and friendly. It’s only a short drive from I-70 and no traffic like staying at a chain hotel near the highway.

This was a nice place to stay the night. It’s an old facility, but the room was clean and comfortable. Quiet area just off I-70, but close to restaurants and retail. Today’s Harvest is a cute shop across the street with fresh donuts, homemade goodies and gifts. Friendly staff and affordable.

It is a wonderful old Time motel which is in excellent condition. It is locally owned and is very convenient to interstate 70 and too many restaurants nearby.

My boyfriend and I were traveling across country from South Dakota to back East and needed a safe place to stay. We found this hidden gem while searching our route we were taking. It’s just off highway 70 and on highway 40. It was such a peaceful clean hotel. The owners were super sweet. The room was very clean. We were traveling with our 10 year old cat and up to this point she was hiding. It was so peaceful, she actually slept in bed with us. Across the street is a farm market with very tasty donuts. Just up the road in town we had an excellent dinner at the Red Front Inn. There’s also a dollar general nearby. We loved this quaint town and all the people in it were very nice. We even saw a few Amish horse and buggies. We walked the side of the property to an area with trees and a stream. We really enjoyed our stay here and if we are ever passing through again, we would not hesitate to stay here. We would choose this small motel over a big chain any day. It was wonderful waking up to birds singing and not noisy neighbors. Thanks for making our long journey more enjoyable. Oh and they have a binder in the room that tells some really cool history about the area as well as about the motel. I give them 5 stars! We couldn’t have had a better stay. I’m including a picture of the sunset we sat out front and watched.

The Golden Inn is a wonderful motel. There’s nothing fancy or cutting edge, but it’s clean, comfortable and incredibly well cared for. The owners are wonderful and cleanly take great pride in the establishment. The grounds are beautiful with hummingbird feeders and flowers, and the farm stand across the road has great coffee and doughnuts! I’ll go out of my way to come back.

Very retro. The kind of place I used to stay with my folks growing up. Most of the amenities you'd expect in higher priced lodgings. No coffee or tea or breakfast included, but considering the extremely low price, you can afford to buy your own breakfast and coffee. Family owned and staff. Typical very friendly Midwest folks.

We are driving around the US, and this was a cozy one night stop along the road. It is what you expect from a nice roadside motel: clean, comfortable and with fantastic service from the owner. She recommended the farmer's market across the road, and New Paris has a couple of affordable antique shops if you want to pass some time. Would stay again!

If you are looking for a modern place with tons of amenities - keep driving. BUT if you are wanting an immaculately clean room with a huge yard for your puppies, book it! Vintage charm and a proprietor who goes beyond to make certain your stay is comfortable. For a light bite, there is a donut shop across the road. More heartier breakfast can be had at nearby Iron Skillet or Cracker Barrel. When in the area, I won’t stay anywhere else.

This was my fourth time staying there! Lea Ann at the desk is friendly and remembered me from my previous stays there. If you are looking for a simple roadside motel from days gone by, which has been well-maintained and managed, this is it. Just remember to bring food, snacks and coffee with you! Very quiet and comfortable room, convenient location right off I70.

Super time bathroom and shower stall was a joke. No electrical outlets except in bathroom, no coffee in room OR office. TP was like tissue paper..had to use 3 times as much. Office closes very early, have to call for code. Very disappointed.

This was a nice place to stay the night. It’s an old facility, but the room was clean and comfortable. Quiet area just off I-70, but close to restaurants and retail. Today’s Harvest is a cute shop across the street with fresh donuts, homemade goodies and gifts. Friendly staff and affordable.

The place is run by an older couple who know what they are doing and do it really well. If I could have given them 6 stars I would have. Hint- go to the Iron Skillet just down the road for a really good breakfast

This was a great place to spend the night while traveling through. We had a room with three full sized beds, which was perfect for our family. There was even a privacy wall separating one bed. Everything was clean, and there were plenty of towels. We were pulling a trailer, so the parking loop was perfect and made things very easy. The property was beautiful and had great space for a picnic and for the kids to run around. There was a farmer's market across the road with ice cream and fresh homemade donuts. Dominos in Richmond delivers. A great place in a great location at an excellent price!

Perfect place for a night or two. Absolutely adorable pull in pull out motel, CLEAN! The bed was super comfy, as well as the sheets and blankets. No fuss about the dogs, and at a 15 fee for their stay, plenty of green grass space to let them use the restroom, I’d easily stay again.
