Nomads Hotel

This was very convenient location, able to walk to restaurants, shops and pier. Parking was a bit of a challenge, and the room was under the restaurant so a bit noisy at night. Would stay here again for sure!

It's a Small Surfer Villa-Style 7-Room Hotel with an end of the hall entrance to Rooftop Soul-Seafood Restaurant. Each room is surfer-style, customized & modernized with remote heating/fan/air conditioning. Apple, Netflix & Regular TV. The lady, Julie at the office was very nice & gives you her cell phone for any help you need. It's a little gem in downtown San Clemente and from my little garden patio, I could see the Pacific Ocean. The California Route 101 Room that I stayed at is right below the kitchen so I could hear the restaurant's kitchen dishwasher & bus boy dish roller above me, but they closed at 10:00PM. Also, 24-parking is free at the restaurant if you sleep in late like I do.

The hotel and restaurant is absolutely fantastic! Parking is typical San Clemente parking. We will definitely be staying here every time we visit.

It's currently past 11 pm and the Nomads restaurant/Canteen above me which closed over an hour ago is still producing ridiculous levels of noise. Who has a functioning restaurant kitchen operating over a room with absolutely no noise abatement? Fortunately I only need to get up at 4 am tomorrow so no big deal that I can't sleep in a hotel that I specifically rented for the night to sleep in......... such garbage.

We love the vibe of Nomads. Very unique place and the upstairs cafe and canteen are wonderful. We always stay here during our visits to San Clemente.

The Nomad was very nice, clean and comfortable. The only negative thing was the noise above the room was a little excessive from the restaurant.

Love this location. Arrival was very well organized and easy. Off street parking was available right in front of the hotel and in the rear by the Nomads Canteen. We ate at the Canteen and the food was delicious! You can walk or take a short uber ride to most everything in town. Will definitely return.

The location is very nice. Close to all the shops and restaurants. Unfortunately, our bed sheets had stains on them and my girlfriend found lipstick on a drinking glass. Also, there was no safe and nowhere to put or hang our clothes.

The first room was clean and nicely arranged but my son had to move to another room and that room was very dirty with old food on the floor and mattress area.

Nomads Hotel is in the heart of San Clemente and walkable to many restaurants and shops. Conveniently located and room was clean. The California room has a comfortable bed and a nice patio. Rooms can be noisy since they are under the Nomads Canteen. Provided ear plugs were used.

Unfortunately this was one of the most miserable check-ins of my life back in July when I stayed at this beautiful hotel. I use a flip phone, with no internet, and nothing on the website said that would be a problem.. So early the day of my arrival, like say 3am before I left home,, I checked my emails to see if my hotel needed anything from me like to call again to confirm; all good. I got there around 3pm and I guess management eventually got to see a stressful security video of me looking like an idiot, banging on their locked front door and eventually breaking into tears, crying and yelling through the door for help, over the course of 30 minutes. I was calling the office number from the website over and over, 30 times, and left 10 voicemails. I asked the bar around the back how to check-in or reach staff, they were kind but ultimately gave me the same phone#. I had to drive to a Starbucks and use their wi-fi with my laptop to try to email the hotel, and I found it... 1:55pm they had sent an email explaining the contactless check-in and codes. Nothing on expedia or their website said you had to check your email within a couple of hours of check-in to be able to get in at all, and there would be 0 staff to call if you couldn't. I don't want to trash them too hard.. it was reasonably priced for SC and beautiful and colorful and convenient. Oh, I did find someone's old leftovers in the freezer, but I would still stay again now that i know the secret to getting in :(

We loved our stay here. Everything about it was just what we needed. Great location, restaurant onsite, clean, and overall just a very lovely experience. Will be coming back :)

Simple, easy spacious room. It was exactly what we needed for a one night trip. A little bit of noise in the morning from the restaurant above, but other than that, it was overall good experience.

Room was under a restaurant/bar. Extremely noisy. Had 3 steps to go to the toilet. Dangerous at night for 70’s couple

Rooms were nice and neat. Beds are comfortable. Decor is very nice. Location is right in downtown San Clemente. rooms are below a kitchen that is open between noon and 10 pm. room can be loud during this time.

Room was really nice, bed was very comfortable. Just a few little nuisances, the toilet ran water continuously, the shower seat was missing, the shower handheld was missing the adjustment knob. But overall, the room was good value.

Customer service is great. The room was very tiny and it was strange having the toilet the sink and the shower altogether like literally you could shower, and somebody could sit on the toilet and get wet from that shower. It was all together very strange.

Pros- great location. Cons- below the bar so loud late and loud early. Our room was ridiculously tinny with shower , toilet, and sink all in one little cove. Dangerous stairs 3 steps from side of bed

The room was just too small, no cups, and difficult to maneuver. Great location and very cute place on the good side.

So cool. We checked in. All rooms are unique. Our friend's room was really cool. But, our room was perfect for the two of us. Big comfy bed. Nice balcony with 2 chairs and a table. walk in shower. Roomy bathroom. hang up closet. easy access, safe, secure. We even had a surfboard rack in the room.

"Clash!....screeeeeeeeeech... thump, thump, thump, CLANG! Clack-clack-clack....BOOM!!!!" This is what it sounds like when you stay in the Boat Room located just under the restaurant, but my husband and I loved it. They have ear plugs and the sounds of thunder and rain freely available to mask the hub-bub. We were cracking up. The room was small and it reminded me of accommodation I've had in Copenhagen and Paris (minimalistic to save space): very small, with a bed and a bathroom that doubles as the shower. The room was clean and the decor was cool. I've stayed at Nomad before in one of the bigger, front rooms. That room was quieter and more spacious. If you're uptight, entitled, or like to complain, I wouldn't stay in the Boat Room. But, it works if you're not precious. It's nice to be able to stay in a room in San Clemente without breaking the bank. The surrounding area is amazing and glorious. The food at the restaurant at the hotel is A-Maz-Ing!!! They gave us a free drink each, which was really cool. Plus, I apparently get a hat for leaving this review. Time will tell. Thanks, Nomad staff! We had a great time.

Our particular room was a little noisy at night (ac unit) but everything was excellent.

Well on the being I was angry because they sent an email and text message asking me to do a check in, I said what's is going on do I am doing a boarding ticket to fly or what. But in the end wow is way easy because you just do your check in and they sent you your pin # for the property entry and the pin # for the room. Wow it skip the line to do a check in.

As a solo traveler I enjoyed the Nomad Cantina attached to the hotel. The food is excellent and people are friendly. I enjoyed unwinding and met some nice fellow travelers. My room was clean and comfortable. I travel with good earplugs so being next to the street wasn’t a problem. Great AC. Loved the coffee! A quick drive or a long walk to the beach. Joseph manned the office. Great customer service. Text communication was excellent and up to date. Thank you for a great stay! Julie Seattle

Great location but confusing check in details as we and other guests were trying to access a key safe when we didn’t need to. However emergency number was available to contact for correct instructions. Parking is also very limited.

Botique hotel with very cool and unique rooms. Awesome Cantina with delicous food and drinks. You can rent surfboards, wetsuits and get surfing instruction too. E-bikes are also available. Way better then Corp America hotel chains. Owner goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is pleasant!

Fun, brightly colored and spacious room (We stayed in the Bali Room). It was perfect for our family of 4. Conveniently located within walking distance to several restaurants. The Nomad Cantina right above was also really fun, and had excellent food, great beer selection, and fun, vibrant atmosphere and decor, and the staff were friendly. Surf friendly. We did not take advantage of the SURF CAMP, but with San Onofre State Beach and Trestles nearby, I bet it would be awesome.

The room was so cute. I did not know when booking the place only had 8 rooms. Very intimate and great food upstairs. Convenient contact-less check-in.
