Comfort Inn Sherman - Denison Area

This hotel would have been an excellent stop-over except for one thing - the elevator was not working. The only available rooms were on the third floor (wonder why?). Otherwise, I had an excellent check-in experience at the desk and the room was fine. I was even able to park my truck in front with a trailer in tow. The location is conveniently close to the freeway, gas stations and restaurants.

The only complaint i have about the property is that the indoor pool is not open. That was the only reason we booked the place. Other than that it was a good experience.

The room was dirty. Toothpaste left in the sink. Terrible smell as soon as you get off the elevator on to the third floor. Black specks in the juice at breakfast and the coffee in the lobby. Side entrance was broken and the door didn’t close. The indoor pool was “closed for the season.” Paint peeling all over the hotel. The unit in the room was either blasting making the room cold, or not on at all, making it hot. The TV remote didn’t work. The curtains were broken and wouldn’t close completely. Several burned out lightbulbs in the room. Uneven carpet in the hallways making it dangerous for elderly or children. A place to sleep, but not a good experience.

Hot tub and pool didn’t work.

Its a hotel I've stayed at before, it's ok for the price and location to casinos around. The rooms were ok, but definitely dated. The TVs are older LCDs and the AC in my room was not the best. The restroom was good, beds were good, and the breakfast was good. The hotel overall was good, although the pool was not in working order, and was closed which we were bummed about. The gym smelled of urine, or something nauseating.

When I got there with my grandkids, the pool was out of order which was a bummer because I wanted to indoor pool so they could swim

Upon arrival we were shown a sign that the pool and hot tub didnt and has not worked in the past few months, this was the main reason we reserved this location, our room looked as though it needed construction, ceiling was hanging, the desk with coffee maker was almost split, our tv wasnt working, the worker inforned ne they were old you had to set hdmi everytime it was turned off, remote back missing..the carpet had tack strips sticking up, i sliced my foot by restroom, and the water for the shower would not turn of completely, it was a constant drip.Horribke experience, sad children.

Peeling paint in places and a pool out of service led to a run down feeling. It ALWAYS disappoints when I s arch out a hotel specifically for a pool or hot tub just to find that I can't use it once I get there! The whole bait and switch thing. Hotels should be required to put up a notice when their amenities are not available.

Very kind staff, but the property has been neglected. Not only did my four-year-old find some hoochie mama lash strips stuck to the headboard of our bed, but there was an entire section of popcorn ceiling hanging down 6” from a former leak. The first room we attempted to stay in smelled like dog pee and the second room was very musty. We were too tired to move to a third room. Also, the pool is still closed as of November 2025.

Our biggest problem. We booked the room for spring break for our grandkids mainly to have a couple of days enjoying swimming in an indoor pool. Web site said there wasnt any problems with their indoor pool, but up on check in, we were told the pool was not in operation, and would not be in operation during our stay. Sure dissapointed my grandkids. Treadmill and possibly one more piece of equipment was out of order in the exercise room. Breakfast bar was fair to good. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, Again biggest problem, was no notice on the pool closure. This was the main reason we chose this hotel. Hopefully i learned to call ahead in the future.

Only thing liked were the decent clean sheets. The floors were yuck, dander on headboard and side tables and husband was brave enough to tackle the shower, i was not given the yuck grime and black mold. It went right aling with the mold in the air conditioner, no smoke detector hooked up and a door that did shut but had gaps we guessed from being broken off the door jam as it was nailed poorly into place. We shouldve just driven the 45 mins back home instead.

Bugs in the bathroom light, sink would not drain and no aeration on the faucet so water went everywhere

The hotel was in rough shape. We stayed here for our son’s baseball tournament for 1 night and it was ROUGH! Our room had mold in the corner of the ceiling, our shower didn’t drain, and it was very musty. The pool was also out of order which was frustrating. I understand that this is an economy hotel but it felt like standards were extremely lacking and it’s concerning!

The property was decent, there were a lot of minkr details in the bathrooms that could have been better. The cleanliness in the bathroom was disgusting! There was still long brown curly hairs in the shower, which showed the shower was even cleaned! Loss of major points!

My main complaint was how dirty my room was along with toilet issues that caused it to overflow and when I called the front desk, all that could be done is them bring me a plunger so that I could fix it myself. The floors were filthy, spider webs all throughout my room, black mold inside the shower along with the bathroom counter and mirror I cleaned myself in order to use to get ready for a funeral; which is why I was there. I’ll never stay here again, sorry but I can’t in good faith write a good review on this hotel due to how bad it was. I now wish I would have booked elsewhere. Also just and an FYI, the pool and hot tub that are indoors are apparently broken! So I would definitely call before you decide to book for either of those reasons. I was and am VERY disappointed and concerned about how filthy the room was because management isn’t on top of it! My advice, pick another hotel! Also, if you’re wondering why I didn’t ask for a refund and go find another hotel, I drove all day and had booked online and had enough time to unload my car, jump in the shower, get ready and head out for another hour drive to the service. I didn’t even know the toilet had issues until later that night when I got back and was in my night clothes and went to use it to pee… Not much toilet paper was used and it wouldn’t go down and instead came up! That’s when I started looking around the bathroom and saw the mold and filth… From there I was on the phone with my husband when I saw all the rest.

Came to Sherman to stay the night for my daughter’s birthday so she and her friend could swim but when we checked in we were told the pool was closed. The room was average but the bathroom had a lot of mold on the ceiling and water roaches came out of the sink whenever the bathroom light was off

Mold spots in the shower, dead bugs in the bathroom, no toilet paper in bathroom, unfinished wall repairs, open light fixtures, ants in both beds, not vacuumed, stains all over the two chairs and thin walls to boot.

There was a cockroach in the bed. Beatle bugs of different sizes crawling on the floors walls and furniture. Crickets in the room and hallways and food service and eating areas. Upholstered chair in room was disgustingly dirty— you wouldn’t use it. The valance as falling off the window. Pool was out of order.

No Wifi service on 3rd floor and hairdryer did not work. Breakfast was limited and no coffee on our second day breakfast at 8am

The actual room was ok. A tad dirty. Looked like a coke had busted down the wall and dried. Bathroom was a tad dirty, bed was comfortable but the elevator felt rough and outside seemed very shady. We were actually concerned about outlet vehicle in the parking lot. Will not be staying here again.

A little noisy because of other guests. The room window was so dirty you couldn’t see out. A place to stay that’s about the size of it.

Pool was closed :( The person that was supposed to make breakfast on Monday morning didn't show up so the nice front desk lady actually made some breakfast so thank you to her. The faucet in the bathroom is ridiculously squeaky. Not sure what's up with that. Our room key took like 10x to work every single time. The outside key entrances to all the side doors don't work so basically anyone can just walk in - yall need to fix that. Aside from all of this the beds were really comfortable and the water got nice & hot. It wasn't bad it just needs some TLC. The location was great - next to lots of restaurants. Yall need stronger coffee LOL- Thank you

The front desk service was amazing. We got checked into our room and it was a little warm. We figured it was because of the temperature outside. We come in the next night from being out all day. The room was scorching hot and had a mildew smell to it. Thankfully the front desk worker charlie was able to get into a new room and it made all the difference in the world. The rate was fair and parking was good. The breakfast was ok and the fruit had a weird taste to it. I would stay again but only after they maybe did a remodel or something

Hotel was fine. Beds very comfortable. But the TV situation was horrible!! It would not work for all 3 nights.

Overall, hotel was good. Needs a facelift; room had a very odd smell. Bathroom caulk around tub was iffy. Shower curtain was a disaster. Door to room stuck every. single. time. Sheets were tissue paper thin. Would only stay again if had no other choice.

The staff was great, the room was nice, and location was good; however I was there for five days and EVERY time I left the room, the key lock locked me out. I had to go get my key re-keyed, but I think it was the door battery because the re-keying didn't work without its challenges. Since the elevator was having some issues, I walked to the third floor. The staff kept saying they were going to get maintenence to look at the door, but it was the holiday and I tried to be patient. There was an offer on night four to change rooms, however, I was already packed and ready to leave the next morning, so the offer was of no use. They didn't even suggest a discount for my patience.

The staff members were very kind and helpful.

Charlie checked us in and she was very sweet. Our stay was short but the breakfast was fresh and hot and the service was excellent.

Check In was easy, quick & friendly. We were only there for a short stay. The bathtub grout could use a little attention and the door needed some adjusting to be more secure. Overall, we were pleased with our stay!

Charlie was great checking us in. Very kind, courteous helpful.

Staff was excellent Belinda was so friendly and helpful wonderfully breakfast and the lady serving was also excellent I have never stayed in this hotel chain but I will be on the lookout from now on

I return to this location because of the staff .They are wonderful

Gayle at the front desk was so sweet when we checked in. She helped us so much. We were exhausted and she made sure we were super comfortable.

Front drsk check in girl was fantastic and friendly even though she had to deal with a lot of simultaneous check-ins. Quiet, Clean room. A/C worked. Hot Water worked. TV worked. Door lock & card entry worked. Bed could've been more firm, but at least it wasn't that way too soft memory foam. I slept great. Breakfast had everything you'd want, protein & sweets. They had a Nice Weight room with Actual Dumbbells! Indoor Pool and hot tub were ample sized and working. My only complaint & weird thing was my window was Spray painted white from the outside..?! So, I had no Northern view.. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again

The lady at the front desk that checked me in and out was an extremely friendly and polite employee. I would stay at this hotel again just because of the friendliness of the front desk lady (I believe her name was Charlie). However, the bathroom in our room needed to be serviced. The shower head could not be adjusted. The shower head sprayed on the wall and we tried to adjust but we couldn't get it to budge. Also, the tub did not drain which is just disgusting. The light by the door did not have a cover. I realize these are minor things which is why, because of the employee, I would stay in this hotel again. The breakfast needed to be addressed as well. There were ants crawling all over the gravy spoon. I could not believe that was happening. There were 4 Hispanic employees that stood around the food area talking and eating the breakfast but not restocking or cleaning. There were many breakfast items that needed to be restocked but I felt they wanted to chitchat rather than work.

We liked the proximity to a wedding in Gunter. Rooms were clean and quiet except for guests in hall late night. Beds were comfortable and towels better quality. Breakfast area floor could have been cleaner and items were missing when we arrived but attended to eventually

This is an older hotel but clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet with no outside noise which was a big plus. Beds comfortable and air unit quiet. Would stay here again.

The breakfast eggs looked like pancakes, just overall not good and we only choose motels that serve breakfast. This one left a lot to be desired. Won't be staying again

Pool was broken again. Also went for breakfast at 0800 and there was almost no food. The lady that was working was sitting on her phone in dining area. Went to front desk lady as cook did not speak English and asked when breakfast was over because there was literally 1 piece of bread and sausage. She went and talked with cook and they started cooking.

No regular coffee this am. Sign saying d out of regular coffee !! Breakfast was not ready …. It was 8:00 We left and stopped at McDonald’s…. Huge disappointment! The hotel was nice and clean ….. but to not have coffee !!!!!
