I booked the room because it had a balcony and a king bed at what I thought was a decent price. The room was gross, there was an indescribable odor, the balcony was barred up, the bed cover was stained, it was sandy under the cover, the floors were slippery, the pool looked gross, the ceiling above the bed was peeling, the elevators were dirty. All around, I will never book at this hotel again.

The pools were green, with one having “caution” tape around it. The decor was trashed, very old outdated furniture. The elevator button from the handicap parking and access to and from the pool/ beach area was broken with wires hanging out of it. No towels were in bathroom.

Overall a nice place. Staff was nice. Pools & hot tub were clean. Parking was a lil tough as it was across the road & over but not a lot of spaces.

When I first arrived I noticed this wasn’t the place I thought it was but I still have it a try…so when I checked in I ask the front desk about out/in door pool and jacuzzi she then said that they have an outdoor pool and yes, they had a Jacuzzi come to find out. They did not clean the pool at all the whole weekend we were there the Jacuzzi was out of order. The whole building looks rundown we get into the room. There’s dirty towels from the people being for us hanging in the bathroom, molded couch, the air conditioner was leaking all on the floor, the remote to the TV fell apart, and just one more thing the curtain in front of the balcony window was hanging halfway off, which we fix that and the remote before leaving. The room floors were disgusting black on shoes and socks. Will not never come back there and will be very mindful the next time.

This property has been taken over by new owners l. So I don’t know if it’s poor management from previous owners. There were no tubes for the last river and the lazy river was closed everyday but one. It was said the new owners have bought tubes and they will be in soon. The pool was almost completely drained the day before we were to leave. So we left and came home early. I will not go back!

Friendly front desk staff. They only clean the rooms once every 5 days and if you want it more frequently you have to pay a fee. The rooms were dirty there were stains on one of the comforters. The TV was broken and had to be replaced as soon as we got there. The screen door was stuck shut. There were no meals provided. The elevators stunk and were dirty. Towels had to be brought down to the front desk and then they would give you new ones. The garage had a bunch of broken equipment and trash In it. Had to go through it to access the beach or go around to end of the block. When coming back the elevator needed a code which was not provided to us so we had to walk around to the front door which felt inconvenient.

Loved how the sweets didn’t have, but one room across from each other. Had a great view of both the ocean and the boardwalk. Did not like parking across the street would’ve rather paid extra to park in parking garage underneath hotel. Wish they had a bar on site or a bar at the pool.

Staff was welcoming and helpful. The place was a little outdated and run down but overall it was an okay place to stay for the few days we were there. I do think we had some molding in the ceiling of our bedroom. Parking was not convenient. You had to park a block away and the check in parking lot wasn’t big enough for all the 4oclock check ins

we had an oceanfront room at first with two bedrooms and a pull out couch with a kitchen. when we got in our room nothing was hooked up and the fridge and oven were pulled out and the floor underneath where they sit was disgusting. Smelt like cockroach/ bug spray killer and the floors were slick with a greasy film over them. we saw baby roaches in the sink when we arrived and then several big adult roaches later on at night while we were trying to eat dinner. we got refunded and moved to a smaller non ocean front room. we were told it was a bigger room when we were moved but they informed us that it wasn’t oceanfront so that was expected, however the size of the new room was not. i’m just happy i got a full refund for the room and the staff was nice.

WORST stay of all time!! I honestly don’t understand how this place is still running. To begin with, the pictures are completely different from what it actually looks like. From the entrance to the room, I was completely disappointed. When I got into the room assigned for my stay, I couldn’t believe my own eyes. MOLD everywhere. A HORRIBLE smell. The place was completely DIRTY. I was disgusted and did not want to stay there. I tried everything to book a different place, but due to their policies, the second night would not be refunded. I was given a second key to a different room, which was way cleaner than the first one, but it still smelled. There were visible signs of water damage, and the microwave seemed like it was going to catch on fire every time we tried to heat something. At bedtime, I was shivering from the cold, and there was NO BLANKET on the bed, just sheets. The bed was completely uncomfortable, and during the two days I was forced to stay (or lose my money), I slept terribly. Downstairs, the pool area smelled terrible as well. There was a strong smell of pee, and one of the pools wasn’t working. The ONLY good thing about this place is how close it is to the beach.

Upon arrival, I discovered bugs in the room, rusted bathroom fixtures, broken furniture, and unsafe equipment with exposed wiring. What I liked was that the price was reasonable, staff were friendly and we had access to the beach from the resort. What I didn't like was there were dead roaches all over the bathroom floor, the change filter light was on on the AC unit and the bath towels were stained with brown spots. After sleeping in the room for 3 nights I ended up with a sore throat and losing my voice due to breathing air that was being filtered through the dirty filter in the AC unit. Fortunately we were only there to shower & sleep each night, we did not spend much time at all in the room due to my children playing in a softball tournament all day. Pictures online are very deceiving and make the place look nicer than it was. It was disappointing.

The place was very dirty at the switch rooms at check in due to food stuck all over the sliding door and sill. All the scenes in the ad, do not greet you at the door. Perceptionary was filthy. The worms were dirty, the pool was dirty and certainly not what it shows on the site. Would not recommend anyone staying here.

Couldn't check in to hotel until 8:45 at night due to what they said was a water line break or something. No discpunt offered and in fact was denied when requested. Room was suuuuuper dirty. Hair in bathtub, handprints on mirrors, residue on muiltple surfaces. Hotel hallways and elevators smelled like portapotties, and the door to the room barely opened (it scraped against the floor).

The first impression was not good. Dark and dingy lobby area, strong smell of Pine-Sol, one broken elevator and a terrifying ground/garage level. However, my room was fine, the bed was comfortable, their loction is good - right on the beach and walkable to some dining and entertainment.

This was a great stay for me and my family. My teen was able to sleep in the living room on the sleep sofa and have her own space. We enjoyed our privacy and being able to have meals inside thanks to the kitchenette. Had two balconies and two really soft beds in the suite. Will book again

It would’ve been better to pay all fees up front instead of being hit with $15 fee and then $100 deposit. It’s like I paid for the room twice. Other than that, it was an ok stay. The stove in the room was terrible and broken but other than that it was ok.

It is a very old and small hotel, which perhaps the location is the only good thing, there is a lot of disorder, there were a lot of people with music all night and people who were in the pool all night despite the restrictions, I honestly would not return there

This property was the worst of the ones around it. To start the trip off, I had done a book now, pay later option. Luckily I was called bc they told me that if I didn’t pay the first night by 1 (can’t check in until 4) then my reservation would be cancelled.. couldn’t even find a a manager to talk to! The hotel was humid and musty smelling. Old looking. It had a kitchen with nothing in it. no glasses, plates, cooking ware. Nothing. The door was hard to open and close. No pillows on the couch.

The front desk clerk/manager (whichever title the male represents) has the worst customers service I've endured ever in life. My husband and I were traveling back to Georgia when my husband realized that he didnt have his wallet. My husband knew the last place he possessed his wallet was at Pallette Hotel, in the bedroom, on the night stand. My husband called back to the Hotel to inform the front desk male staff that he left the wallet in the room and was sure that the wallet had fallen in between the night stand and bed. The front desk male stated he would have staff go check the room and give us a call back. It took my husband and I several times to contact the front desk hotel for an update. The front desk male was ignoring our calls because he did not want to take the time to honor our request of going to the room we stayed in to verify the wallet was there, as we knew it was. We eventually called from a different number, the front desk male answers, knew exactly who my husband was and stated "Shawn Moon, we sent staff back to the room and we didn't find your wallet". This answer did not sit well with my husband and I. We asked a family friend, who was also on vacation in Myrtle Beach, to go by the hotel and request to check the room. When our family friend arrive, the front desk male was still there, giving her the same answer. Even saying the room was occupied. Another employee heard our request, went to the room, found the wallet exactly where we told her it would be.

We waited for over 2 hours to be able to get our room because it was being cleaned. We were told many times to wait only 5 minutes and it kept on going and going. While waiting we had many guest come down and complain about how dirty their rooms were and we even witness someone come down and say they was given someone else room. Our room was clean and its was good for the price but the unprofessional staff and lack of organization was horrible would not recommend.

The room and property is dirty EVERYWHERE! The staff is not knowledgeable and rude! A staff person, charged myself and several other guests money on our cards that they didn’t have an explanation for. When we spoke to the manager she stated she doesn’t want anything to do with it and she will have the owner call us. By 6 PM.. we had no call. Talked with someone else and the owner was out of the country. We ended up getting a refund that would take 3-5 days after the vacation was over. Then I get home and have another charge on my card! I called and the staff said she didn’t know why and I should call my bank and dispute it. So I get home from vacation and have to wait for hundreds of dollars to be refunded with no explanation. I spent my whole vacation arguing and asking for my money back!

They make you clean your own rooms, the manager walked in our room without knocking while my friend was naked after taking a shower. Housekeeping the day if checkout walked in our room without knocking. The hot tub is the same temperature as the swimming pools. The paint chipped off the doors and room walls. They refused to give me a receipt at checkout. Dont bring cash to pay because i believe they are stealing it. I never been refused a receipt staying at a hotel or resort.The pictures are not what you get in person. Our tub didnt drain and maintenance was supposed to come our 1st day. Never came the 4 days we were there.

When I talked to the manager he looked at me like a deer in headlights and didn’t know how to respond was supposed to get a call back for days. The room was sufficient for our vacation. The room was updated in some areas, but needed updates in other areas. Lamp shades were dirty, and shower was difficult to use. The access to the beach/ pool from the garage was easy, however you could not utilize the elevator to return to your room without an access code that is only given to handicapped patrons that were able to use the parking garage. Overall our stay was pleasant and we would stay at the Palette again for the cost.

The hotel does not look like the pictures anymore. They do not sell serve breakfast. The kitchen is closed. It looks like it’s literally sinking in business and deteriorating the building like I would’ve thought it was shut down by the looks of the inside there was moldy and overall it was just discussing I went in the bathroom. There was mulled under the bathroom sink cabinet along the walls. It had a nasty odor.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My stay at the Palette Resort in Myrtle Beach was a complete nightmare from start to finish. The bathroom door didn’t even lock which is basic privacy and safety. The pools were absolutely filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned or maintained properly in quite some time. What really pushed me over the edge was the blatant false advertising. The listing claimed there was a bar and grill on sit there was no bar, no grill, and no explanation. Just a flat-out lie to get people to book. I didn’t feel safe having my family there, and ultimately had to leave and pay out of pocket to book another hotel last-minute. I’ve requested a refund and am still waiting, with no clear communication or resolution. Do yourself a favor: Avoid this place at all costs. Friendly front desk staff. They only clean the rooms once every 5 days and if you want it more frequently you have to pay a fee. The rooms were dirty there were stains on one of the comforters. The TV was broken and had to be replaced as soon as we got there. The screen door was stuck shut. There were no meals provided. The elevators stunk and were dirty. Towels had to be brought down to the front desk and then they would give you new ones. The garage had a bunch of broken equipment and trash In it. Had to go through it to access the beach or go around to end of the block. When coming back the elevator needed a code which was not provided to us so we had to walk around to the front door which felt inconvenient.

Do not stay here. From the lobby to hallway to room, dirty and smelly. You have to ask for dishes… plastic wear is all they have, no forks, no soap to wash dishes and they were dirty. Stove didn’t work. Toaster was missing the bottom. Sink was badly caulked. The beach shower for sand didn’t work. They have an area for breakfast or bar but nothing is there or stocked. They keep the cleaning buggies there instead. Customer service was not informative. Beach access was the only positive.

Loved how the sweets didn’t have, but one room across from each other. Had a great view of both the ocean and the boardwalk. Did not like parking across the street would’ve rather paid extra to park in parking garage underneath hotel. Wish they had a bar on site or a bar at the pool.

The resort is on the older side, but it was clean and comfortable. We loved having the kitchen, so we were able to make our own meals. You can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. The only thing that bothered me was the ad says "basic kitchen utensils" but there was none.
