Love salt water pool

My husband, my toddler and I stayed for a long weekend at Tolok. Absolutely recommend. I was a little nervous bc I hadn’t heard much about it, but this boutique hotel exceeded my expectations. The honeymoon suite was fabulous. Nicely appointed and had its own little balcony. The salt water pool was clean and beautiful. The nights were quiet, the staff was kind, and the restaurant was convenient and well priced for breakfast. Loved our stay. 10/10

Vraiment un bel emplacement! Tranquille, bon petit resto sur place. Le personnel attentionné! Nous avons eu un enjeu au départ sur le fait que c’était un forfait déjeuner inclus, mais Hôtel.com et le Bahia Tolok ont réglé ça rapidement. Location sur place du kart de golf un atout!! Près de tout!! Nous avions la chambre penthouse et nous avions une section privée avec piscine sur le toit à nous seuls incluant un balcon immense!! On recommande très fortement! Et en plus, un membre du personnel nous a fait 2 lifts lorsque nous n’avions pas le kart de golf, incluant notre changement d’hôtel à Isla Mujeres! Fantastique!!!

Well maintained and beautiful property. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the condo came with a nice balcony that overlooked the water. Gorgeous sunset views every night. The pool is really nice!! We all loved the hammocks hanging from the trees, great nooks for reading and relaxing. Next door is Skulls restaurant - great place, we recommend the fish and chips, so fresh!

We weren’t sure what to expect of Bahia Tolok but we were very pleasantly surprised. It was VERY clean and the staff were all so nice. It is very walkable to many locations, which we loved. If you weren’t up for walking it may not be the number one choice. Only complaints: the restaurant is closed so getting good coffee is a bit of a hike and the pillows were pretty hard.

The property is well maintained and beautiful however, it does not have all of the amenities advertised. They advertise having a restaurant and bar and even show pictures on their website of the food that they serve. However, there is not a bar or restaurant on site. Both have been shut down and are non existent. This left a very sour note with us as we booked this hotel especially since they advertised both. We spoke to the manager about our concern and she said “oh, sorry for the inconvenience “ and nothing more. We explained to her that we booked this place because of the amenities advertised and she shrugged us off. We were very disappointed. And to top things off, we had stayed at another hotel the week before staying here and 2 days before the start of our reservations at Bahia Toluk, we visited this hotel and gave our deposit and this same manager confirmed with us when we questioned why the restaurant wasn’t open at the time of visit, that it is open daily from 8am to 3pm and said that the bar was open the same hours. We laughed at the time and questioned why the bar opened so early. In fact, she was lying to us as she wanted to secure the cost of half of our stay. To say the least, we will never stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay at Bahia Tolok. It’s a quick cab ride to the North, and walkable (15 min) to the main grocery store. Our room was cleaned daily. It did face the road, so it was a little noisy during commuting times. Keep in mind that if you get an ocean facing room, you’ll most likely get full afternoon sun (ok for some, but not others). The staff was super helpful and friendly! The sand area is ok, there is no “beach”. There are a couple comfortable hammocks but because it’s a marina, it’s not really swimmable. Saying that there are so many beach clubs and also free beaches to go to, we didn’t find it was that detrimental to our experience on the Island. The pool is great for a quick dip, but it is on the smaller side. I (husband) found the pool nice and refreshing, my wife found it a little on the cold side. We only went to the restaurant for coffee and found it a little expensive. There are so many amazing restaurants on the island, that we didn’t have time to check out Bahia’s food. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. If you’re Canadian and booking through Expedia, we ended up having to wire transfer a deposit from our bank. Ensure you pay in pesos. If you transfer in USD, you’ll lose twice on the exchange. That goes for the whole island, just bring pesos with you, the best exchange was ordering pesos before we left from RBC. Getting extra cash - we didn’t bring enough -from the HSBC ATM was crazy.

My 2 kids and i stayed for 8 days in the penthouse and loved it. Staff was great, always ready to help you out. The location (middle of the island) is ideal if you rent a golf cart and want to zoom around between Playa Norte and the calmer south side of Isla. The pools are fun for kids of all ages (one in the penthouse if you rent that room, one downstairs for everyone). The vibes of this smaller boutique hotel are much cozier than some of the big hotels we visited throughout our stay (some were truly depressing). All in all, yes it's a bit pricey, but so is everything on the island. I would definitely recommend this place to friends!

Bed was very soft and comfy! The pool is not heated, so we got in the ocean instead! Hammocks were very relaxing. Sunset was beautiful! The restaurant is not open at all, so that was disappointing. Would stay at this quaint boutique hotel again!

We recently had a group of 7 that stayed in 4 different room types on the property! All were clean, beautifully decorated and exceeded our expectations. Staff were courteous and helpful! The restaurant on site had excellent food and service as well. Although there isnt a sandy beach out front it still met all of.our needs! Will certainly stay here again!

Excellent customer serivce, nice location, confortable bed, the shower had nice pressure. I will definitely recomend the hotel to family and friends.

Overall, I do not recommend Bahia Tolok. The staff was nice but the owner has not met basic necessities for livable conditions. He threw some subpar rooms together and called it a hotel. Please take the time to read all reviews 1- The bathroom was filled with E.coli! The poop trash can, toilet, and entire bathroom got soaked during each shower. They do not mop the floors. They ran out of towels for 3 days during our stay. The bathroom was lined with black mold due to the poor ventilation and no fan. 2- None of the rooms have working wifi. 3-The pool had food lining the bottom. Old chips and fish sandwiches. They didn’t clean it at all during our stay. 4- The rooms are filthy! Dust everywhere. Dirty floors and the not maintained. 5- The AC was subpar. It blew hot air. 6- Intermittent power loss. They do not have a backup generator to accommodate power outages during the night. 7- The manager is impossible to reach. The manager is not located in isla mujeres so when things go wrong they throw their staff under the bus and hide behind a phone. The staff spent hours trying to call the managers. The mangers scream policy when they know the property is not anything like what they advertise. The irony of this poorly kept property is the beautiful owner suite located above all the hostel rooms. The owner living like a king off a poorly kept property. I feel bad for the staff! Even if you are in a pinch do not stay here! You will regret it!

Apesar do hotel dizer que tem estacionamento, mais de uma pessoa nos pediu para deixarmos o carro na rua, pois o que seria o estacionamento para hóspedes é usado para parar os carrinho de golf de uma empresa. Disse que não ia andar 300 metros com minha filha no colo pois o hotel mencionava que tinha estacionamento. O recepcionista me disse que não poderia deixar o carro no hotel, então sugeri que poderia mudar de hotel e me devolvessem a outra diária. Ele concordou, quando desci com toda minha bagagem ele disse que não devolveria meu dinheiro. Eu já havia feito outra reserva enquanto arrumava as minhas coisas. Pedi nota fiscal e me negaram, disseram que só no fim de cada mês e deveria pedir por e-mail! A limpeza realmente era pessima e a equipe muito mal treinada

Bahia Tolok is a lovely, quiet little spot. The staff are amazing and the pool and restaurant area are small but very relaxing. Our room was clean and well maintained.

I booked a room with a small private pool, i arrived friday and found it dirty, I requested at front desk to get it cleaned, I waited all night, I went back again to front desk around 9pm to follow-up, she said that they spoke with the "pool cleaning guy" and that he would be in first thing in the morning, I followed-up Saturday morning, followed-up again at noon, then again around 7pm, and still nothing, and all i got was apologies, I asked for the manager, "apparently he travel to every weekend" so the place runs itself with ZERO accountability.

The property is conveniently located about a 20-minute walk from North Beach and slightly less to Chedraui and the ballpark. We rarely needed a taxi, as walking was more convenient with several attractions in the area. However, given the price, I feel I paid more than it was worth and would likely choose a different place next time. I found myself having to ask daily for things that were initially promised, such as cleaning, fresh drinking water, and towels. Unfortunately, these services were inconsistent, and on some days, even after asking, replacements still weren’t provided

I did not really enjoy this stay. Check in was super stressful coming off traveling and 2 hours of sleep. First I had to pay upon arrival (wish they had allowed me to pay via Expedia ahead of time). My bank locked my card and they charge in CAD varied between the 2 terminals they had. My card was not working on one terminal and the charges were supposed to be $2214.00 CAD. When I used their other terminal minutes later the charges went up to $2370.00 CAD. The room was outdated and dirty. I found hair in my bed and under the bed was utterly disgusting. I was hoping to get a kettle in my room (it was an apartment style room) but they told me to use the coffee maker. There was no free breakfast. I asked the restaurant for hot water and they said I had to bring my own water to boil. All in just not worth the price whatsoever. I did go to a different hotel after this and it was a fraction of the price and significantly cleaner and better overall.

When we got to the hotel, we were given a room that had water dripping down the walls. When we asked for a new room, they gave it to us, but tried to charge us the upgrade when we checked out. In the new room, the shower did not drain correctly and the toilet did not flush. also, the hairdryer did not work. The bathroom mirror was broken and the bed was hard and the pillows terrible. We also wanted to rent a golf cart from them to use for 24 hours we wanted the golf cart at 4:30 pm and wanted to return it at 4:30 PM the next day. However, the young girl at the front desk told us that we had to have it from the moment of check in. We argued about this for 30 minutes. It was ridiculous. The resort pictures look nothing like the actual hotel and if I could give this hotel, zero stars, I would. do not book this.

Beautiful boutique hotel and lovely sunset and surrounding areas. Apartment was handy but a few starting essentials would be nice.

We loved the suite, the Terrace room oceanview. Enjoyed sitting on private patio in morning and evening. Staff were awesome . King size bed was decently comfortable but pillows are too lumpy. However this maybe a personal opinion. Overall really liked this boutique hotel. Location kinda mid island where walking is definitely possible, which is a plus for us.

Cute hotel but not on a beach. Some sand in a courtyard with hammock seats and outdoor restaurant seating. Basic room - bed was comfortable. We had room facing road and heard traffic noise. Staff not particularly friendly. Was expensive for what you get. 15 minute walk into town. I would stay closer to North Beach next time.

Penthouse was incredible!

Great place to stay. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Close enough to downtown to walk but far enough away from the noise. Staff was excellent.

We absolutely loved our stay here! They were incredible at helping us arrange for transport to and from the airport to the ferry and from the ferry to their hotel and they had golf cart rental right there for us as well. We will most definitely be back again and highly recommend this hotel! The staff Were amazing and the facilities were beautiful and clean.

We felt very safe the entire stay, the staff and owners are so nice and helpful with anything we needed, the room was very comfortable - plenty of room and the air conditioner worked great! Best shower pressure ever single day and we always had plenty of hot water. Definitely recommend! We will stay here again.

First, Jesus was giving us the best service and advice for the entirety of our stay! It was five stars from beginning to end- recommendations, accommodations, cleanliness, kindness… this is the best hotel in the area we’ve stayed in and will return! Not to mention the beautiful decor and theme

Worst experience I had on Mexico in all the years. No one at the Frond Desk. Did not clean the room twice even as we asked to clean in the morning. Took a cash deposit for incidentals and would not return it because we check out at 12:30 instead of 12. Charged for 2 people even though there was only one guest.

Bad first impression with the hotel manager. She changed our price at the hotel for the stay. She changed the shuttle price 3xs then charged me again on the way out. The shuttle company was trying charge us as well. There was a big miscommunication. We definitely will be back to Isla Mujeres but definitely not to this hotel. The apartment description don’t match photos. I don’t like to review. But we just did not really feel the welcome from the two women working the reception it was more like we were annoying them. I’m pretty sure they felt the same way we did. The bad first impression and attitude from them sparked this bad energy. I’ve had much better experiences in other hotels on the island. I must say that Brandon the hotel restaurant manager was super cool. Every morning I had coffee and he was super respectful and very helpful along with his assistant. The cleaning lady is great and the night security guy are awesome as well

Beautiful little hideaway, we were on the island for 10 nights and stayed stayed 8 we will be back! Great location, close to N beach but not in all the hustle, fun bars next door, beautiful sunsets!!

The rooms and place were nice and clean… But the location to go to beach(playa north) a little bit to far …taxi $100 to $150 pesos to downtown o the beach each way … And you have to go its must the best restaurant are in downtown and Playa Norte it’s the best beach in the world

I love that the property is totally walkable to North Beach and el centro. There are many great dining options nearby. Staff is friendly. Full size refrigerators and options for cooking in your room. Also, the beds are very comfortable. Will definitely return. Of note, this is more of a harbor location and you won’t be swimming in the water, but we knew that upfront.

Location good for us as a bit removed from town/port area so quieter and more scenic. Pool and outside areas pleasant and clean. Nice to have restaurant onsite with good service and music. Not all menu items available probably due to limited demand or availability. Biggest negative was lack of hot water for showers.

Une vingtaine de minutes de marche vers l’épicerie et une vingtaine aussi vers le centre ville et la plage. Endroit propre et calme.

The views are remarkable. The staff are all very friendly and the restaurant serves not only a great meal but a wonderful experience!

I spent my whole trip at super expensive hotels that let me down this room was cheap and it was my absolute favorite I would 109% stay here again. The ONLY reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is the restaurant. Me and my girlfriend got eggs bacon and potatoes both the exact same thing. Food looked great tasted great. Then they brought the bill. The hotel restaurant completely screwed us the bill was 1200 pesos without tip. I was totally oissed I felt like they ruined everything literally breakfast cost me $20 less than what my room there cost. Total ripoff just ruined the entire vibe

We enjoyed the hotel, however given the fact we paid close to 300.00 cdn per night, we felt it was considerably overpriced for what you got. We specifically paid extra for the suite with a kitchen so we could cook meals however that was next to impossible as the kitchen had bare minimum supplies, which were in poor condition. There was no dinner available at the hotel and the breakfast and lunch were extremely overpriced, as were the drinks. We did enjoy the quietness of the property. Fortunately there were not many guests there when we were there, otherwise it would have been an issue for lounge chairs around the pool as there were only 5.

Pros: The room was very nice and tastefully designed! The salt water pool was very relaxing. We had an amazing fish dinner at the restaurant that is adjoining and the waiter was fantastic! The dock was beautiful and we were able to see lots of ocean life. Cons: One of the front desk workers was not the kindest - seemed put off when we asked for anything. The free breakfast is a choice of eggs with sausage, pancakes or a fruit plate - it was definitely not enough to fill a belly but was still nice. Would be nice to offer more breakfast options. The view is nice but note that the water has heavy vegetation and so the crystal clear waters that you see for Isla Mujeres will not translate the same in the bay.
