Palihotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter

Great Location

Such a cute French themed place with a little cafe built in.

Clean room good location

This hotel does not live up to the Palihouse brand. First, you have to request cleaning service. We requested it for the second day and they didn't provide it. On the third day it wasn't done until about 4pm. Secondly, the noise is crazy - street noise, clubs, sirens. There is zero soundproofing. In addition, only one of the very old elevators works. People take the stairs for efficiency and this results in continual fire doors slamming - every time that happens it literally sounds like someone kicked your door. Rooms are tiny and the bathroom sink is outside of the bathroom. It all feels very crammed. I would also expect a Pali hotel to be in a nice neighborhood, but the Gaslamp is extremely seedy (drug addicts on every corner). That's more on me for not doing my research though. The decor is very charming and you can tell they are trying to preserve the history of the building - the rooftop is cute but drinks come pre-mixed. Overall, would not recommend staying here (or in the Gaslamp in general).
