Incredibly beautiful hotel, great staff and amazing drinks at the bar! We used our complimentary drink ticket and it was a beautiful space, and then headed upstairs on the rooftop for the awesome view and it was super comfortable.

A hotel with much character in the Gaslamp Quarter of Dan Diego...a fabulous roof top patio......an attached restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. An excellent location from which to visit the San Diego sites.

The elevator is original, built in 1913. There is only one elevator for Staff and guests. It broke down twice on our 1 day stay. We had to walk to our room that was on the 11th floor twice,if it wasn’t out of service it was extremely slow and had to wait 10-15 minute minimum for the elevator to arrive. This hospital is not friendly for disabled or elderly people.

The hotel is super cool if you enjoy staying in historic properties. I loved the caged elevator as it’s original to the building from 1913, but some people would not. The room i booked only had light from an interior courtyard which made the room dark. With the blinds open i could see in the neighboring rooms, but kept them closed most of the time for privacy reasons. The restaurant in the hotel and the rooftop bar are both fantastic!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days. Our room was not serviced at all for the entire stay. Beds never done, towels never replaced, tea and coffee never replenished. Worst of all the bed occupied 3/4 of the size of the room.The smallest room of any hotel stay in my life. I would never ever stay here again.

The hotel is near alot of food options. Hotel is well kept. Two things were disappointing: 1) The hotel does not have a self park option (when I booked it stated parking availablee, not valet parking). They only have valet which runs $65 a night (steep in my opinion). 2) The throw blanket in my room was filthy with some type of ketchup or sauce stains. For what I paid that was disappointing to find. I was given a $25 discount for my inconvenience.

Room was not cleaned when requested and no fresh towels. Lift out of order. No internet for duration of stay. And air conditioning did not work. Staff unhelpful. Still waiting to be compensated for having to purchase internet elsewhere. Plus unknown charge on bill. No explanation and no invoice provided

Air conditioning unit was encased in a decorative box with a screen that was filthy. Towels had holes. Hair from previous occupants was stuck to the walls and bathroom doors. Bathroom had no ventilation system except a window, but the window must have been near a kitchen because when we opened it the whole room smelled like a grease trap.

A classic and old hotel. It was clean, but very noisy at night. There are many nightclubs nearby, and the windows don't block the sound. We could barely sleep even with earplugs."

The aesthetic was cute but the room was uncomfortable , you would go from hot to cold and then back to hot in a matter of 30 minutes . The noise was horrible, you could hear every door slam shut every 15 minutes with people using the stairs, so if sleep is what you are looking for don’t stay here.

This hotel is over 100 years old, full of vintage character and style. The first room we got had no outside-facing windows—just one that opened to the inner courtyard garden. The hotel also has an old-fashioned elevator, beautiful but tricky to use. Our room looked stylish, but the AC was so loud that by 11pm we thought we wouldn’t be able to sleep at all. We called the front desk, and the staff were very helpful—they ended up upgrading us to a 1-Bedroom Suite. That room was perfect: quiet, cool, and comfortable, and we finally got a good night’s sleep. In the morning, they even offered us a free cup of coffee each (though we came as two guests, so we had to share one! Overall, the hotel definitely has its quirks, but also plenty of charm and great service.

Room was smaller than expected but still great. Service was fantastic. Room for improvement on a place to put garbage in the room or in the lobby. Valet was quite slow this weekend and we were late to our plans due to lack of valet workers. Would still recommend to friends!

We had a very cute and small king room. It definitely felt like an old hotel. The original elevators were neat but slow. It was July but the duvet seemed like a very warm winter one. There are no blackout blinds, only slatted blinds. The restaurant in the hotel was cute, not a wide menu.

While nothing was “wrong” with our stay, it wasn’t for us. Our room was clean but the bathroom was a bit musty/mildewy. If you have a roadside room, note the establishment across the street has loud music that you can hear with your windows shut until 11pm or later. The elevators, while very cool one time, take forever and with the rooftop bar as an attraction, getting a hotel is often a task. The rooms are not spacious. I didn’t like the fact that the refrigerator was not functional, it was stuff fill over super overpriced alcohol. And the candy/snack basket was silly. Who pays $5+ for a normal size kit-kat bar?? Would not stay again, even at the lower price.

I was charged an extra fee that I don’t have any clue what it is on top of the hotel stay and paid parking for 3 nights. I have no idea what this charges are for and i have paid every time i dine in at the hotel, i never touched water or snacks in room. When i called to ask, the customer rep did not explain to me and i asked to speak with the manager and i was still asking question and they hanged up on me. I did not like the customer service and were not polite enough to answer questions. The above charges were not disclosed and when i read on the Expedia, it stated its all included.

Overall good stay minus a few things. It was very noisy at night with my room near the elevator. The staff however was the best part of this property, they were attentive and checked in multiple times. Another of the downsides was randomly getting charged for using the minibar and I did not touch the minibar. I had to reach out to get this corrected.

The Palihotel San Diego is such a gem. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but they’re perfectly cozy — ideal for anyone traveling solo who loves a minimal yet thoughtfully designed space. The staff here are excellent. I received a text before I arrived asking if I had any needs upon arrival. While staying there the staff took care of any requests we had promptly. Rooms are small and the whole place is very retro. The rooftop bar is nice with great views

Lovely hotel. The decorations were beautiful and the staff was very friendly. However be prepared to hear noise till about two in the morning coming from surrounding nightclubs. It sounds like the windows are open, even though they are closed. This did not bother me, but I know some people will be very irritated by it. I would definitely stay here again.

Pali Hotel is located in Gaslamp about a 10 minute walk to Petco Park which made the location convienient. Valet parking is $60 which is too much for guests in my opinion and the room was a good size. I especially liked rhe view i had from the restroom shower window that had a view of all of downtown. With that being said, it was noisy at night which made it hard to sleep. I did find a pair of folded sicks under the bed that someone left behind and a dirty towel that was hanging from the shower curtain which indicated the room was not cleaned out thoroughly. The hotel is very clean and unique. It’s a pretty quiet hotel. I didn’t like that the hotel bar closed at 9. The rooftop access also closed at 9. The rooms are also very small so keep that in mind if you need your room n space. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights and it was a $300 deposit. They also charge $65 a night for parking. If u don’t use their parking then u pay $60 a day for the public self parking. Walking distance to clubs, bars, comedy clubs, food options. The hotel also has a restaurant which also closes at 9. Our room had snacks n drinks for sale. There is a fridge but it was full of their drinks they offer u to buy. The worst part for us was the elevator. They are very old n take very long and at checkout it’s even worse. The beds n bedding were very comfortable.

Unexpected stay in San Diego for work. Very clean, comfortable, excellent service and frendly staff. Want to come back for a longer stay. Loved the decor. Kept elevators as original design i though was great. dinner in the restaurant and the roasted chicken dinner was amazing, drink was delicious. Truly enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend.

The property is charming. The restaurant and rooftop bar are both very nice, and the burgers are amazing. The elevator adds to the overall charm of the hotel but after awhile it becomes a bit inconvenient. Most rooms seem to be generally quite small. There's just enough room for the bed. Lastly, I find $65 for valet parking extremely expensive. I understand that cities typically charge higher prices due to limited space but it just feels like too much. Overall, however, the hotel was in a good location to be near the bars and nightlife, and it did the job for a couple nights a reasonable nightly rate.

Best hotel we’ve ever stayed in….incredibly comfortable bed,great shower,big tv….easy walk to Petco park….great restaurant in the lobby,with best burgers ever on the happy hour menu…can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed it….treat yourself to this amazing,beautiful hotel
