Really friendly at check in and throughout. Free parking a bonus. Room was great for what we needed with good facilities. Loved the fact there was a bar downstairs - very convenient for a nightcap. Not noisy at all. Room very hot (weather was extreme) and only one window to open but there was a fan. Would definitely stay again when in the area,

Nice family pub. It can be a bit noisy during pub open hours but my family were very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. The bar below sells nice selection of beers and the play area kept our daughter busy so we could relax.

Rooms are above a pub and Tuesday is quiz night so there is background noise but once it closes its all quiet after. Room could do with a proper desk to sit at or work at.

We arrived early to the property, Needed to get changed to attend our Grandson's Birthday party. The room was not ready but staff offered the Office to get changed or we could use the room were staying, but it had not been cleaned yet. We explained we only needed to get changed and didn't require a shower or anything else, One of the staff went up to the room to make sure it was resonable. We got changed left our bags in the room, the room was light and airy and very tidy, we had a drink in the bar and return that evening and ate outside from the Barbecue menu. The whole experience was great and will be going back, and would like to say a special thank you to Rogan & Dan. We have been coming to Bristol for around fifteen years and usually stay in the city but this was a lot better experience. Thank you Crafty Cow.

Was a very comfortable stay, Ideal for our purpose of visiting family in Ashley Down. We enjoyed the tea and coffee making facility, and there was a pretty comprehensive pub food menu, but we didn't have time to try anything. Its a bit up from the main strip of Gloucester Road, but handy for Southmead Hospital and plenty of buses into town. we slept well apart from the odd siren and contrary to the Hotels.com description, lovely clean towels and bedding were provided. The only thing I wasn't so keen on coming from the red half of Bristol were some framed Bristol Rovers programmes and posters in our room, but was all very tasteful and respectful to the buildings history as it was once a Gashead stronghold.

Staff were excellent. The pub is lovely. Accommodation very basic, little bit dated and dirty.

About average for a pub. Lot of noise from outside and street. No double glazing. Lots of condensation on the windos. Separate bathroom, down the corridor. Shower a bit weak. No light over sink. V difficult to shave. £45 should be the max price. Not vfm at all.

The staff were all very friendly and the bar and food served was great. I honestly wished I had read the reviews before booking AND I HOPE YOU DO TOO! The room is very basic and dated. The shower is in my opinion dangerous with the risk of scalding highly likely. The noise from the bar in the room is very evident, but I understand that this is a small independent business and needs the revenue from both as a seasoned traveller I expect this and understand that it will end at some point (closing time) it could be made clear in the description that this will happen. My room was next door to a room which the occupant had a couple of dogs. I telephoned the bar downstairs to complain about the noise from this room at 10:45 and was told it would be dealt with. Unfortunately every 90 mins or so the howling and barking began again. After the bar was closed tbere is no one on site to speak to I was told there was a number on the key which I could report problems but this was so faint I couldnt read it. Overall the nosie within the room was unbearable from the bar, dogs in next room and banging of doors throughout the night. I can honestly say this was my worst experience of a UK hotel stay and would advise against staying. There wasnt anyone at the property when i left so I did email them advising them of my dissatisfaction.

Everyone very friendly and helpful. Hotel is situated near the hospital which was great as we didn’t have to rush to get there in the morning. Would definitely stay again, beer garden very well thought out.

This place is a pub with rooms and my feeling is that the rooms are generally rented by working men on short stays. Not couples in their 70s like me and my husband. For example there was a clothes rail but no coat hangers. And no hair dryer but plenty of USB points. The bed was large and very comfortable. The main plus of the Crafty Cow was the staff. They were all lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Especially the brilliant Graham who did source me a hairdryer. I’m a smoker so the large beer garden with a covered area was a big plus. The food was fabulous and on a Friday evening it was very busy. They don’t do breakfast but there are various choices about 15 minutes walk away. Also a shop 5 minutes away. We stayed there because it was near friends we were visiting and would definitely stay there again if in the area. Another plus is that residents get 10% off all food and drink purchased there. What’s not to like!

Ideal stopover location for football at the Memorial Ground....and the beer was good!

Great bar and staff and the food was really nice but the room was a bit dated (not a problem) and it was quiz night so it was a lot noisier than expected even above a pub, I don’t think they should rent rooms out on this night unless of course you are interested in quizzing
