Incorrect information provided by hotel related to parking despite us checking ahead of time. Front desk also pushing hard to sell breakfast deal using holiday as an excuse saying nearby shops and restaurants will be close all day which was not true.

The first room we were given was noisy and the bathroom was not suitable. We did get moved after a lot of effort and enjoyed a happier two days. We ere surprised at how early the bar closed and how busy the breakfast service was.

Parking is drama, we drove ourselves to the property. The hotel faces a side street which is now closed and you have to try and find somewhere nearby to park. The concierge then directs you to an adjacent multi storey car park where you park. Then take lift down to the foyer of building. There is connecting door from that foyer to the hotel lobby. To exit the car park you need a gate code. In short it’s pain in the arse. The hotel itself was ok. Staff very helpful, property condition was a little tired. Room sound proofing very good. It’s in the ideal location with cable car opposite and lots of shops and food options.

Nice room and pretty hotel once you find it!!! There is no entrance by car from the street… You have to park in a garage and then find spots designated for the hotel and then take elevators, but that is not described anywhere in the reservation information

A fantastic hotel in the heart of the city - so convenient for parking, walking and catching the bus. The room was really peaceful, the blackout curtains amazing, and the bed and bedding were so comfortable - we both had our best sleep in years! Great in-room dining, a good gym (just needs another bike), excellent wifi, lovely decor, brilliant shower… The service was superb: warm and welcoming on arrival, and friendly and efficient on departure. We didn’t have an outlook from our room, (so no access to the wonderful Welly sunshine) but we got a great deal on the price through Expedia, which made the weekend incredibly good value. All up, a great stay!

Room smelt of mould, and you could see mould behind the vanity and in the shower. Really sad as the hotel itself is a lovely old building. I stay here all the time, but it is not what it was pre-COVID.

A luxurious feel, beautifully appointed in a central, easy acess part of Wellington. The room was very quiet, good security and all of the staff friendly, helpful and smiling! Everything was immaculate and I have no hesitation in recommending the Doubletree Hilton.

Plastic straw wrappers on the floor upon arrival shows cleaning not done. Tv was broken and needed to be repaired. In room coffee and tea choice and quantity was dismal. Homeless outside front enterance of building. Bed on wheels, so when you lean on the backboard you fall down the gap. Poor sound cancelling in room.

Loved that I had control of the room temperature. I am in menopause and was so happy to be able to have air conditioning. Also, for being centrally located it became lovely and quiet at night (not sure about on a Saturday night thought). Was a very large, comfy room and the staff were wonderful.

The room had everything we needed and was clean. The hotel restaurant was very good and the staff were pleasant. The only complaint was the noise. Outside the window it sounded like loud construction all night long. Very disturbing. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and thought it was an excellent location, and close to the car ferry dock to leave for the South Island in the AM.

Poor air conditioning. Room remained at 23°C despite setting controls to Cool to 18°C. Was moved to another room but that made no difference. I was explained that the room was actually at 14°C but display was showing incorrectly as 23°C!!! Who are they kidding? Hot days, stuffy nights, no good sleep, ridiculous excuses!

Our family stay at DoubleTree Wellington on 5th July 2025 was one of our worst hotel experiences. At check-in, the Duty Manager insisted our booking didn’t include breakfast, despite it being clearly listed in the Expedia reservation. We had to return to the front desk multiple times before another staff member finally confirmed breakfast was included—no follow-up from the original staff. That night, we endured drunken disturbances on Level 6 until after 6am. Multiple calls to the front desk went unanswered, despite being 24hrs front desk; only the emergency line responded at 5am. Sleep was nearly impossible. The room also had minor maintenance issues. Very disappointing overall. Never again.

Experienced rudeness from Daniella the Senior Manager at the front desk. She would not honor the discount for the breakfast even though the night staff said it would be ok to decide in the morning. We arrived late and were exhausted to make the decision. The other front desk staff were extremely polite and helpful.

I enjoy staying at this hotel. Unfortunately our stay this time around was spoilt by the misinformation we received regarding parking, resulting in me having to pay 2x the amount that is offered by the hotel. I called the hotel, they said they would send me an email apologising with an offer for the next time we stay. I haven't heard from them since. Disappointing to say the least.

The location was exceptional. I cant think of an area around the city that would be more central to everything. Room was large and beds were very comfortable. Excellent bathroom space. Great selection of coffee shops and restaurants around the hotel. Museums and water just steps away. I would return in a heart beat. Thank you Wellington!

The Hotel was within walking distance of everything we needed for our stay. We also had a Meal in the Hotel Restaurant and I can honestly the Eye Fillet steak was one of the best I have had. We will definitely be staying again.

Overall a very pleasant, conveniently located and decent hotel. Modern, comfortable rooms. Hotel is well run and very friendly front office staff. Breakfast had a good selection of food, fruit and drinks. Only criticism is cleanliness of the restaurant at breakfast service, glasses that were provided were dirty with juice residue (and not just a little bit) and overall appearance of the breakfast room and staff just didn't feel up to standard.

Great place to stay in central wellington, with a italian good restaurant onsite with yummy food. Breakfast was good also. Staff were excellent, only thing to watch is the carpark is on the other side of the building and need to check in before you can enter also extra charge. but overall excellent stay and would again

Staff were welcoming when we arrived just before 10 p.m. We were hungry but unfortunately everything was closed in the area. We were able to order from a short room service menu. Food was acceptable. Complimentary snacks and water in the room a nice surprise. For breakfast we ordered a la carte and food was excellent and reasonably priced. The room was spacious and very nice. The only real negative was being situated close to the housekeeping suite and I was awakened around 7 a.m. by their conversations. So if you are a light sleeper asked to be put in a room far away from that location.

Very happy with our choice. Nice to get that warm cookie on arrival and some welcome extras in the Room. Very close to the TSB Stadium where we were attending WOW. Right in town and close to the Waterfront. Beautiful old building, well maintained with attractive Art Deco decor. Didn't realise the full breakfast was included in the nightly rate which was a bonus and we were impressed with the selection each morning. Helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.
