同じビルにアミューズメント施設がたくさんあるので、夜中でも何かしら重低音が響いてる。気になる人は寝られないかも？本は、読むというより眺めるタイプの、雑誌や写真集が多い。ソファの居心地は良かった。夜更かしして、色んな雑誌と、窓の外の歌舞伎町の騒ぎをを楽しむなら良し。

本好きの家族で利用しました。 パブリックスペースはすごく居心地がよく、ずっといたかったほどです。 しかし、下記の点で非常にがっかりしました。 シャワーブース 利用される方が複数いるので、その日の汚れなどは仕方がないと思います。 しかし、折りたたみ式のドアを閉めた時にドア内側の下部にいつからかの汚れがこびりついていて、赤カビになっていました。 その場に掃除道具さえあれば、掃除してから利用したいぐらいでした。 個人ブース 私が下、家族が上を使っていました。 1点目、上に上がるハシゴの止めるネジが壊れており、はしごが固定されておらずいつ壊れるかわからなく心配でした。 2点目。私の方で貴重品を金庫に入れようと思ったのですが、壊れており閉めることができませんでした。 家族の方を使おうと思ったのですが、金庫のタイプが違うのに使い方が書いてなく、下のものと同じ使い方をしたら、アラームが止まらなくなりました。 スタッフの方に止めていただいたき、使い方も教えてもらいましたが、やはり閉めることができず、またアラームが止まらずスタッフの方を呼ぶことになってしまいました。 3度目なので、少し嫌そうなのが伝わってきました。が、人間何回も呼び出されて大変な気持ちも分かるので、早く金庫を直してあげてください。 泊まってみたかったので経験できてよかったと思いますが、次回から利用したいとは残念ながら思いませんでした。

I was really excited to stay in the 'Superior Room' from the photos however there is no door, just a curtain which people mistook for a staff area and put luggage in front of. Weirdly no actual roof which also made the area feel less private/safe. The safe was broken so would recommend bag locks too. There was also alot of noise from the other rooms on both nights we were there, which to be fair can't always be helped but it added to the discomfort we had from this experience.

As shown in photos, the capsules are amongst a book area. No real division between men’s and women’s area. Only guests are allowed into the lounge area. There’s a cafe in the front (also where you get breakfast). Decent wifi. On the 8th floor. Sheets and towel provided. Pajamas available for rent.

Unique hotel for a different experience. Love that it’s at least on a high level for a nice view of Shinjuku when looking through their big wide windows. Lots of artsy books to browse slowly while chilling & eating at the rest area. The cabin rooms are ok. Had to be extra careful not to make any knocks & bumps in there to avoid disturbing the others haha. I got a cabin which I need to climb up to. The handrail is kinda clunky with an exposed screw at the top. The ladder to climb up could be upgraded to a wider step for easy secure stepping for my foot. If you are not fit, make sure to request for a bottom bunk. Climbing up & down is a mini workout 😅 Morning breakfast is nice. For my 1st day, the lady who served me was nice & respectful. On 2nd day, the guy who served me was kinda moody & not that welcoming but the cereal he made for me is thankfully good 😊

The main shared area of the hostel is very stylish, with various interesting books to read, and is fully air conditioned. There is 24 hour service so even in the middle of the night someone will be at the counter- there is also a cafe that’s run next to the check-in area, but even if you’re staying at the hostel you’ll need to pay for cafe items. You can get a change of sheets and towel daily if you want. You get a small electronic lock box in your capsule. The bedding is honestly very thin and not very comfortable, but the atmosphere, convenient location, and value make it worth it

室内のいたる所に本が沢山あるのが他のホテルにはない良い感じだと思いました。

Positives: --Most beautiful lounge of any hostel I've stayed at --Great views of Shinjuku Neutral: --Front desk service was alright, if at times stand offish. --cleanliness (especially of bathrooms) was so so Negatives: --AC was not great and unlike capsule hotels there are no vents in the bunks, leading to what was a hot and stuffy night. I didn't use any blanket and I was still too hot. --Mattress was uncomfortable. --There are no lockers. Granted I've never had anything of mine stolen in Japan but it would be nice to have the peace of mind, plus lockers are standard in hostels anyway. I'm glad I stayed here for a night but I probably wouldn't rebook. Many capsule hotels I've stayed in are cheaper, have better amenities, cleanliness, and working AC.

Our stay at Book and Bed was ok, it was quieter than I thought it would be and I did sleep well. The pod itself was really hot. The staff who checked us in were really nice. It is a different experience, however it could do with a scrub and vacuum. There was thick clumps of dust in the corners of the sleeping pod and the shower could have done with a really deep clean. The sinks on the backs of the toilet had grimy marks in them. The lady who checked us out was quite blunt and a bit dismissive.

The place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. There’s dust everywhere. Dust underneath the bed is piled up, its itchy and makes u sneeze all the time. The books are dusty too, imagine breathing dust with book smell. Its a bit noisy too, u can hear all movements from top or next beds. It’s centrally located so getting around is not an issue. This place should be amazing only if it can be a little cleaner.

Rooms were dusty and cleanness was minimal. Improvements should be made for their facilities, such as the toilets and shower rooms.

Staff was friendly, amenities were available but bathrooms weren't as clean as I expected. Enjoyed the room/bed, everything else was nice and hostel was in really great area.

For the price is was a great value. However the bathrooms are very dirty. The benches by the windows are disgustingly dirty. The whole place needs a good cleaning.

まず、ベッド周りが非常に汚いです。4隅4辺にびっしり綿ゴミ、埃だらけ。掃除に掃除機を遣わずコロコロで済ましているため夜中、咳が止まらなくなりました。ベッドにも前の人の髪の毛が。値段が結構したのにベッドシーツ、ふとん、枕カバーは自分で。そして朝にぜんぶ剥がしてシーツ置き場に持っていかないといけません。ゴミ箱が洗面所にしかなく、いつもゴミがあふれています。荷物置き場がなく、ほぼバックパッカーが利用しているので足元はトランクやデイパックで一杯。お風呂も清潔感ゼロ。前の人の髪の毛がシャワールームにも脱衣所にもたくさん。そこにもコロコロがあって自分で掃除してくださいとありますが、前のひとがしていかなければアウトの汚さ。そして暑い。ベッドシーツ周りに冷房、扇風機が無いので室内全体に冷房があってもカーテンを占めるとか途端に暑く眠れませんでした。肝心の本ですが見栄え重視で、チョイスも今ひとつ、数もそんなに多くなく、とてもライブラリといった感じはありません。

I found the mattress quite comfortable, and although the compartment was small I was able to move around inside comfortably. Noise does travel easily between adjacent compartments for those easily disturbed. I fear that on one heavy-drinking night I may have been the snoring disturbance, so bear this in mind. Showers were great. Staff were highly professional with a great level of English and I loved the breakfast sandwiches. It felt a lot quieter than most European hostels but it feels like a different crowd. I didn't take advantage of the book aspect but there seemed to be a very reasonable Emglish language selection in addition to Japanese.

Really cool place, loved the vibe. Beds relatively comfy and quiet. Easy access from Shinjuku station and in a great area for food, shopping and activities/sightseeing. Capsules get really hot as they aren’t air conditioned but that’s really the only thing I would fault.

The only real problem is the matt is too thin. I slept on it for 5 nights and my thighs were so sore it bothered me to walk. Other than the Matt everything was fair to good especially for the price.

Great place to be at the heart of Shinjuku. However issues with air circulation in the pods make it difficult to sleep if you appreciate a cold room and flowing air. Would recommend otherwise

Ingen ventilation i boendebåset annars helt okej hostel. Väldigt bra läge.

Allmänt trevligt ställe. Bra och lugn stämning i de gemensamma utrymmena och kapslarna var rymliga. Vandrarhemmets läge var mitt i centrum. Där fanns vad man behövde på vandrarhemmet. Negativt var temperaturen i kapslarna. Där fanns inget sätt att förändra temperaturen mer än att dra för gardinen eller inte. Därav var det väldigt varmt på kvällen och väldigt kallt på morgonen.

This was a unique stay. Loved the book vibe. Wanted to try the capsule hotel option. It isa a hostel so lots of beds, people can come and go whenever so there could be a fair bit of noise if you are a light sleeper.

At first I thought the pods I slept in would be too hot and stuffy. It was a bit of that, but it wasnt bad when you actually lay down and enjoy the space. The space is so unique and there is nothing like it in existence so it was a fun and unique memory for me. They have a corner room if you prefer sleeping with your partner and it looks stunning if you can get it.

Il design è carino ma la pulizia sotto lo standard giapponese. Il personale un po' particolare: qualcuno carino e disponibile altri invece imbronciati e quasi infastiditi dalla presenza delle persone, non ci si sente proprio accolti. Gli spazi per dormire andrebbero puliti meglio. C'è poco spazio per riporre le valigie e sistemare le proprie cose

I am 52 and my son is 21 and we both enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, each bed was private and the entire place was clean. We didn't ever have an issue getting in a shower or toilet, even with it being fully booked. It was close to the station and plenty around it for fun, convenience, or food. We would definitely stay there again.

If you like being surrounded by books, you'll love it. They also serve coffee and you can sit looking out into the city. It was strange being in a Japanese run accomodation where no one speaks to each other and the staff doesn't speak to people.I felt like the staff was scared to speak to people cause they are scared of speaking English. But once the one staff member knew I could understand Japanese he spoke to me. I wish they could learn basic English since their main clients are foreigners. My second night, I found that I had not been given a towel as well as no new linen. Like NONE at all. I had to sleep with a comforter and pillow with no covers and no sheets. It was so uncomfortable. Wish they had a stack of fresh linen in case of such cases. I finished late before coming back and everyone was obviously sleeping. Lucky for me when I woke up, there was a lady sorting new towels so I could get one. Also, I felt a little unsafe in the surrounding streets cause there are a lot of streetwalkers at night and early in the morning, it seemed like they were doing their last hour. I felt like I had to watch that I don't become a human trafficking victim. But if you avoid the night time outside...it is a good place to stay.

The hostel is near several restaurants and the main train station.

The location was very hard to find , even with google maps. It was in a very rough area , trash, prostitution, drugs, alcohol, very sketchy area… once you go up, they do help you check in & everything , the view is nice & the place is cool. It would be a 4/5 BUT it is dirty, foul smells, and the bathrooms & almost every area needs a DEEP clean. Also the mattress is paper thin, so my body would be very sore. Now for the price I paid ($101) for 5 nights , not too shabby.

Loved the vibe, great spot to stay. It is in the red light district so be warned of people soliciting outside.

共有スペースの本に囲まれた落ち着いた空間が良かった。 一方で、部屋に関しては髪の毛やホコリが目立っていた。シーツは、敷布団に被せるには、下に挟み込める余裕がもう少しあると良い。朝食は美味しく、ゆったりとカフェスペースで過ごせた。

Love the Book and Bed concept, staff warm, welcoming and efficient, for a hostel the bed cubbies are quiet and private with solid walls and double curtain, separate men and women bathroom and shower stalls thoroughly cleaned daily, easy luggage storage, cafe had nice offerings, nice places to read, work and windows to look out. Great location near Shinjuku station. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning!

First time staying in a hostel and first time staying in a hotel with a capsule like concept. Very cool spot. Great ambience in the common areas. Great staff. Really great food in the cafe. You also can’t beat the price in that area of Shinjuku. You’re in walking distance to a million great things. The only drawback is obviously the space for sleeping and storing your stuff. It’s small and there’s not a lot of room for your luggage. The shared bathroom was pretty clean for the most part, but it’s still a shared bathroom. For the price and for the experience and for location, I definitely recommend. You aren’t going to be the most comfy you’ve ever been, but that’s ok!
