Red Planet Manila Binondo

Rooms are very small but amenities are okay. It has a 7-11 downstairs so for water, extra snack or a light meal you don't have to go very far. The hotel lobby is located at the 4th floor and it has a water station (dispense both hot and cold) at the lobby as well. It broke down several times while we were there, must be due to its high usage! I booked 2 rooms, one room's aircon was freezing, the other room didn't work at all and my son didn't complain to the second last day of our 1-week stay there. Apart from that, everything in the room are very well put together, it even has a mini bar and a safe for keeping your important docs. Our 2 rooms were right next to the lobby and so we could hear the cleaning crews getting in and out. The Filipinos are naturally very happy and easy going so we don't mind their giggling while working away. The doorman downstairs are very friendly and they always greet us with a great smile.

I would give 5 stars if not for the following: 1) Pillow is too soft 2) Shampoo dispenser cover is broken 3) Remote control is not working due to battery issue. I have to go the reception at L4 to report it and get someone to fix it as there is no intercom or phone in the room.

Amazing stay! It was my first solo visit to Manila and I really enjoyed red planet Binondo as it was really clean, looks new and comfortable. Except for shower detergent and toilet roll, you have to prepare your own amenities like toothbrush toothpaste face tissue etc. There’s a 7-11 right beside the hotel so it is extremely convenient to buy anything needed. They provide only 1 key card, and no in-room phone available. Lock, small fridge and water boiler are available. Multiple plugs available and it’s functioning. TV wise you can connect to screen sharing for Android, doesn’t work for my iPhone. Walk 7-8mins to the nearest Binondo Church and Ongpin Street which offers many good food, walk 5mins to Anytime Fitness. Walk 7-8mins to 1919 Grand Cafe or the nearest Starbucks. Very friendly & great service bell boy, helped to carry my luggage eventhough it was just a small cabin baggage. Check in is at Level 4 lobby, plus efficient front office personnel and very helpful when I asked questions about nearby vicinity. Able to store luggage with them too, and they will provide a number card to collect your luggage back. Also need to provide a check out paper to the bell boy upon leaving the hotel (I guess for safety purposes) Binondo area: this red planet Binondo is right by a slight busy street but aint too noisy. You will see some beggars with babies/kids by the street. Just be on alert will do. Made the right choice to stay here, I would return! Thanks for the good stay!

I stay here whenever I am in Manila. Only thing I was disappointed in was 2 days without TV because the hotel had problems.

I have stayed here multiple times with zero complaints. Never again will I stay here. ROACHES LIKE A SLUM. I complained and was told they would treat. Not sure if they did but roaches didn't go away. Every time I have stayed there has been TV outages and this time the same. Employees in the past were great but this time many grumpy employees. Our last full day we hung sign on door early morning to clean our room. They never did. In fact it seemed we were the only ones left on floor 5. Perhaps Floor 5 was fully roach infested. My Fiancee and I were appalled at this entire week trip.

Room size was small, but adequate. Employees are all courteous and polite. Clean room and facilities. Very affordable rates. They don’t provide toiletries like toothbrush/toothpaste. Aside from one minor issue which was quickly resolved (AC was not blowing cold air, so they moved us to a different room), I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Well located in the Chinatown district, convenience store right at the entrance. Clean rooms, but humidity smell in common aisles to get to your room

Clean, quiet hotel. Fresh water freely available. Shower good. Staff friendly and courteous. Would stay again.

No tv or cable for 6 days we stayed there, one of the towel had fresh blood on it. Some AC outlet not working.

Room was clean. Staff was nice. Rooms are small but efficient. Bring a streaming stick because there is no cable on tv. It worked for what we needed. Glad we had a rental car so we did not have to go out after dark on street. 7 11 was nice to have.

Nice room at floor 9, silent air cooler, no fan, chair, small refrigerator, very good ventilation, some street noise.

The building was newer we liked. No tv in operation we disliked

The hotel overall is nice except that the tv were unavailable to use but there’s a youtube option since it’s a smart tv. Would go back to this hotel the staff are so nice and helpful.

Perfect room for what we needed at the right price. 7 11 on first floor very nice but glad we had a car because I do not think I would go walking after dark. But would stay again. Wish they had a facecloth in bathroom and there is no cable tv.

I arrived at 4 AM and the staff were available and very helpful. In fact, they were very helpful throughout my stay which I extended. I will need to be in Binondo again in mid May and I'm about to book another stay.

We selected this hotel for the location and it absolutely provided for a basic, but good experience. We had to request a room change and this was handled well. We were quite happy with our stay. All the basics are covered and the cable tv options were a nice touch.

Not terrible but not great. Area around hotel is definitely lacking options for food. Homeless children sleeping on the sidewalk right outside of hotel. Check out was more difficult than it should have been.

The costumer service is poor. I had a family emergency and coudnt come on the first day. I even called earlier to cancel it and I had to call everyone and did not get a refund for that day. Poorly managed. I won't book at this hotel again

Property was well maintained and very secure, security 24/7 almost on every entry point, staff was outstanding, above and beyond, next visit I will return to the same property, !!!!!

staff were good it is just that, we experienced room door not opening three times bec cards given were not validated. had to go to reception twice and asked a manager to chk the card once bec manager at the same floor suggestion: staff issuing the ecard should make sure that cards are working - hard for the guest to go back to reception every he goes back to room

Larry and Beatrice are great front desk staff. Moved our room when we complained of heavy cig smoke

Very good location in Manila’s Chinatown. I was there to take care of Philippine visa issues and the Bureau of Immigration is walking distance. Rooms are a bit on the small side and amenities are a bit sparse but the price and location more than make up for that.

Great hotel and great service from the staff. Location is unlike for tourists due Chinatown is very close and the noise can be even loud after 10 PM. Besides that, I did enjoy my stay. Clean rooms and facility.

Walking distance to the heart of Chinatown and a few minutes ride by tricycle to Fort Santiago

Walked outside and confronted by 4 beggars. Not impressed. Most electrical circuits don’t work. Tv was turned off between last stay and ours. Horrible location. Full of noise. Bed was comfortable but design was very basic. Won’t stay here again

Staff were friendly and helpful. Area around the hotel is loud and dirty. I would not recommend to walk around outside the hotel. It felt very unsafe.

The hotel is nice for being in such a rough area, and they have guards and security features in place to make it safe for guests

Red planet is very super clean Rooms and fresh linens. Nice bathroom and shower. Its small but very affordable and walkable to the china sm mall. We will come back again for sure.. from the USA 🇺🇸 ♥️

Excellent location, clean, great hotel staffs… plenty of delicious affordable chinese restaurants… near affordable shopping malls.. no probs with public transpo.. ill will stay again in this hotel.

I have a wonderful experience with this hotel. I stayed as part of the mandatory hotel quarantine for all arrivees from abroad. I feel safe and secure knowing there are police outpost inside the building itself. It's a bit far from the airport but its worthed. Their room were updated to a modern type. There are much nearby convenience store or fast food restaurant but they have an excellent foods that that you can order thru room service. The staff are very polite and helpful.
