Canyon Lakeview Resort

I like that it's close by the lake and the scenery is beautiful. I did not like that our cabin was hot diue to the central air not working and the pool was not working .

The property is being renovated; however, it does not cause clutter or disarray. The pool was clean and the kids really enjoyed it even though it is only 3 foot deep. Great path to the lake. You will have to be a little adventurous as the path is rock. Room was clean and the patio was inviting with a great view. We were able to feed and pet deer throughout the property. Cons of stay: Store isnt set up yet so you cannot quickly grab ice or sunscreen (etc). Our oven didnt work so we had to order food out instead of cooking the pizzas we had brought. Staff: We were greeted by one lady (short dark hair) that was so nice and notified us as soon as out room was ready (even though it was not check in time). She told us we could park and take advantage of the properties pool and walk ways prior to the room being ready. Then we met another lady (older light hair with accent) that was very rude. I asked about the pool as she was unlocking the door and she asked "Why are you talking at me?" "I dont want you talking to me." It was very strange and very rude. I would potentially rebook at the resort.

The deck was puzzling—picnic table ok, but the only other chairs were two old upholstered chairs that were uncomfortable & not meant for outdoors. Asked for some deck chairs, but was told they didn’t have any. Went myself to buy some. Couldn’t get outdoor fan to work. Flies and bugs were intense. The swim area was rocky, dangerous to navigate in sandals and with all the stagnant plant life, I didn’t find it at all appropriate for swimming. We headed back for pool, which had water that was so cloudy, it was opaque. Full of dead bugs. Wasps everywhere. Didn’t readily appear to be maintained. Construction happening as well, and although we didn’t see anyone working on anything, materials are laying all around the pool area. Food truck and general store not open. Never saw another guest either. Whole experience was strange & I’m so disappointed that we spent over 1k to spend two nights here!

Beautiful view! Mostly quiet for as busy as it was. They were very responsive about a late night issue. Only issues i had were the downstairs water was lukewarm at best. And the shower was barely a trickle. The hot tub jets didnt work and the paint inside the hot tub was chipping so it was everywhere. Theres no store on property like the map shows. Overall we had such an amazing time i was able to overlook the issues we had. Beautiful views as well. Super quiet. But it would be nice for everything to work for as much as i paid.

However the pool was green and had not been cleaned in a long time, also the WiFi advertised did not work in the cabins due to the strength being so low and unable to reach. I would definitely come back if the pool was actually available and the WiFi was working properly.

Loud neighborhood. Room had multiple things damaged. All the amenities seem to be under construction or closed. Feels more like an air bnb not a resort.

We came into town for a family reunion and booked 12 people in this cabin. We were disappointed to see that the "three bedroom plus sofa bed cabin" actually included two bedrooms, plus a bed in the middle of the common area, and a futon that would not fit one adult on it, much less two. But the biggest disappointment was that the pool was closed, gated off, and full of algae. We had a full pool day planned with the kids that we were not able to do. I communicated with management at least twice before our arrival and there was no notification of the closed pool. When we arrived and saw that the pool was closed, we contacted management and they had no knowledge of any problem, and said that they would contact maintenance but no a room was taken. Very poor service that ruined our plans. This place was way too expensive for what it was, although it has potential. There were also people yelling through the night. We will not be back.

The pool was wonderful. Low score due to overwhelming perfume/odor control smell. We had to open up door and widows to air out our room. The location and view is spectacular but room needs attention. Very outdated with stains around sink. New pillows and blankets needed. Towels were new and clean. A little bit more cleaning and new bedding would help greatly. We enjoyed feeding the deer. Thank you for the bag full of deer food.

Do you love stray cats? There are about a dozen stray cats that occupy this property. They will come onto the patio and beg. They seem to be nice enough but they do not want to be petted or to stay around people. They just want your food. If you are looking for a luxury stay, this is not it. If you are looking for a step over from an Econolodge this will work for you. We were traveling across the US. We just needed cheap accommodations that would fit our family. This worked for us because we did not have high expectations… you get what you pay for. Do you want towels in your bathroom? Do you want a TV to watch in bed? Do you want a level floor? Do you want bowls in the kitchen? Do you want a hair drier? Do you want clean surfaces, void of cobwebs? Do you want an adjustable air-conditioner? Do you want a key to your front door? You wont get any of those things on this property.

Property area, dirty showers, broken

This resort was a big disappointment for us. It feels like a great property that is badly in need of maintenance and fixing up things. Good: Good structure and space, by the lake.Toilet bowls were clean. Not so good: plenty of foor vinyl planks are rising up. We stubbed our toes and lost balance and almost fell. Cobwebs inside the living room and on the deck. One of the dirtiest worn out dishes we have seen in a while. If you pull on the dishwasher door with just a little bit of force, it pulls all the way out from under the cabinets. Plank right under the sink is broken and held a single nail, so it swings out and drops when you open the cabinet door underneath. It actually hurt our toes when it fell. Shower faucets are so old and water just drops out vertically, and the knobs have infinite turn, don't know when it stops, I tried for a minute and it still kept turning. You really have to hug the wall right under the shower to get any water on you. I think the experience with the amenities in the cabin doesn't match the reviews you see on websites.

The cabin that we rented was extremely dirty. The floor has not been swept for weeks. The dust was all over the place. The cabin’s deck was full of cat food and water that seemed to be there for a while. The cabin we got was missing some supplies that other cabins had like paper towels, hand sanitizers and a groom. The place was quiet and relaxing, if it wasn’t for the cleanliness of the place, this would be our to go vacation every time.

It's unique to say the lease... I was looking for more of a glamping feel, so it didn't meet my expectations. Hot Tub was unusable Wasp nest in the ceilings of the balcony Floors were chipped Freezer was nasty Downstairs bathroom had water running all night Upstairs room lights didn't work

Very dirty, the photos are not the same as it really is, it is very old and neglected, the only thing worthwhile were the cats that cheer you up and the deer that came by to say hello.

Initially walking in, we were greeted with spider webs. We had to keep pulling them off our faces and out of our hair as we walked through the living room area, bunks and bedroom. They were in between the light/fan pulls, curtains, halls and doorways. Please note, they were not new webs. They were old, hanging and dusty, which tells me they have been there a while and the room just needs a good cleaning. Two receptacles had missing plates, exposing the outlet housing and one in the bathroom that was broken with the bottom missing. We had 4 lights that wouldn't work because the bulbs were burnt. The bathroom tub had no handle to turn the water on/off and the lever to close the tub drain was missing. To use the tub, I had to use a towel to turn the water on and off and I had to makeshift a drain plug/stopper. There were no towel bars on the walls, only holes in the sheet rock where they were. The towel bars, towel ring and screws were under the bathroom sink. There were only a few plastic store hangers I assume were left by previous guest. Before we could cook anything, we had to wash the pots, pans and utensils. They were visually dirty and when you touched them, they were greasy and there were dead flies in the cabinet. The floors throughout the unit were so dirty that the bottoms of our feet were black and the carpet in the bedroom had stuff on the floor and needed to be vacuumed. While walking the grounds, there was trash everywhere. Cans and bottles left in common

Nice cabin although lights were working . No outside lights to gather . Ac wasn’t working very well. Spider webs on the ceiling meaning that it wasn’t well clean . Lack of toiletries supplies We like the are but we couldn’t enjoy the lake . It was to dirty , we had to drive to other places and pay to enter other parks to go to the lake . Sorry nice place but too expensive for what we got .

Lighting did not work properly, shower had little pressure, both shower and sink did not drain, shower tub had rust water stains. Toilet is cramped up against sink area. Plumbing is very loud in room and above. Pest control is necessary. Bed was comfortable and clean.

Just really impressed with the room size and amenities in there. I wasnt sure what to expect but it was incredible!!!

There were no lightbulbs in the lamps and no trashcan in the unit. There\'s no designated parking for this type of unit, but plenty of parking for "hotel only". Walking from any parking to the unit required either walking through wet mud or a small hop between cement slabs at least 12 inches off the ground. Thats not too difficult if you have good balance and are not carrying a suitcase. Window a/c was so loud I could not sleep. I did not stay more than 2 hours. The unit was obviously new, but was furnished with 2 old, stained, dingy stuffed chairs. Bed was comfortable, but just about 4 feet from a/c.

Very close to Canyon Lake. Nice view of the lake as well. Property and Lodge itself were clean and well maintained. The lodge is older, dated. My biggest problem was the noise level. The walls in the lodge are paper thin, you can hear TV, music, conversations of the surrounding rooms. Footsteps, cooking, toilet flushes can be heard from the upstairs room which is only separated by a thin door at the top of a winding stair case. The bedding is thin and not warm. Bathroom is small and cramped, which for a room that can sleep 6, is not adequate.

Enjoyed a one night stay at the resort. Pros - 1. Clean unit with marvelous view 2. Comfortable bed on the soft side, which I like. 3. Quiet 4. Picnic table in the kitchen area was a nice touch to the rustic feel 5. Tons of cable tv channels 6. Did not miss not having on-site reception and the check-in via text worked fine. 7. Reasonable price for a place to stay with lake a few steps away Cons - 1. Couch is uncomfortable to sit on. We did not use as a bed 2. Bedroom fan wobbles, making noise 3. Bedroom mini-blinds do not begin to block the bright light from outside. In my opinion management or someone needs to be there at night to see the problem so they will be motivated to install a dark shade or curtain over the window. We do not travel with eyeshades or use them as they are uncomfortable. But given the bright light we would have tried them. 4. Laughably sparse selection of kitchenware. When we stay longer, we will bring our own. 5. No tv in the bedroom and no bedside lamps to allow reading since no tv All in all, we recommend the resort and will stay again.

Everything about the facility and staff was an amazing experience! Staff member “Chelsea” went above and beyond to make our experience as easy and enjoyable as possible! Will definitely make this our go to stay facility moving forward.

The property itself was beautiful and perfect location next to the lake. However, we had no towels at all upon arrival and water dripping from the ceiling in the kitchen the entire stay. Maintenance was there trying to repair it for most of the time, but the property refused to give us any type of refund for the inconvenience. As nice as the location is, I would definitely not recommend anyone staying here!

Staff was absolutely amazing and answered any questions we had! Check in and check out instructions were very clear. The prices were very affordable. It was a wonderful stay! We will be back again in the future!

It was a lovely place! Very peaceful and pleasant and the service was fantastic. The restroom wall had some kid handprints on it. But I will say they upgraded my room at the last minute, so maybe someone hadn’t had a chance to check that room yet after it was cleaned. Overall, I give it five stars and would definitely visit again. I was super grateful for the upgrade so I was happy to wipe the wall down myself 😊

The resort is amazing and our customer service representative was moreso! I recommend staying here without reserve! It is a short walk to the lake and the deer will eat straight from your hands. Just an amazing getaway.

BEWARE! I booked a room to stay for 2 nights because the website boasts beautiful photos of lake front swimming and we were prepared to spend three days swimming in the lake. The lodge cabin we were in was very nice, but there is no beach or swimming due to low lake levels. Also the swimming pool was being shocked when we got there and needed to sit for 24 hours before allowing swimmers in. We opted to play volleyball, but no balls were provided. Four hours after our arrival we asked to leave and be refunded or at least be given a discount. We booked through hotels.com, who also tried the first night to reach management to give us a refund. No apologies, explanations or refund, or even amending the misleading website were given by the Lakeview Resort. The location is wonderful with wildlife and woods, but was not what we had signed up for.

This is our second trip here. There are a lot of upgrades to the property from the last time we were there. The staff is super responsive. Great weekend trip and we’ll definitely be back again.

Amazing place, lake was very low, couldn’t seem to access the water. Not really the property’s fault but when you rent a cabin right on the edge of the water access is an expectation. Beautiful sights and friendly staff, love the deer food.

Cabin stay okay. Lake area difficult to enjoy, water low and all ramps closed due to drought.

We woke up to a foggy view of Canyon Lake and two Does nibbling grass and looking for food we could throw to them with the supply of pellets on top of our fridge the hosts obviously provided. It was really quite a sight to wake up to after driving all day and showing up late at night. Then the fog slowly burned off and the view was amazing. Bed was comfy and we slept well.

I loved it! Will deff be back ! Easy access to the lake, and the resort is amazing and quiet.

AC did not work properly. They need to update their picture of the lake. The pictures displayed are old are very misleading. Lake is very low and difficult to access. If you are going for the lake this not the best place. We did enjoy watching the deer.

The resort is in a premium location, we liked very much the nature there. The kids enjoyed feeding the deer. It is also within one hour drive of some fun attractions in the area. We would recommend that they offer breakfast to the guests, which could be paid in advance. It would be very convenient

The rooms were clean and the hotel has a nice view. Pool was very bad. Couldn’t use it because it was green and needs maintenance. No many places to eat around. The hotel needs more upgrades.
