Beautiful hotel nice stay and great restaurant. Valet was a little hit or miss, they emailed with an address for the valet. That address in Apple Maps took me to the wrong place. Also valet area was very small leaving me to circle the block at rush hour till a spot opened up, twice I had to go hunting to find the valet to drop off keys.

The room was really clean. The only thing we felt that wasn’t our entire stay was the terrace. There were a couple chicken bones on the roof of the terrace, just far enough out of reach to have to stare at anytime we sat out there. They seemed to have been there a very long time. We made light of it. The room was a little smaller than I expected with a smaller closet. Essentially not enough room in the closet to hang clothing for 2 people for the week, but manageable. I was disappointed for being a higher end hotel that they did not have a steamer. Most hotels that cost this much have ditched the old crappy iron and replaced with steamers, but I made due. Only other potential negative was the parking for larger vehicles. We were not aware prior but the KPMG building had plenty of parking and for only $25CA, so technically cheaper, just no valet service available. We had room service one night, and ate at the restaurant 3 times during our stay. Great food and wine. The evening menu, we told was limited, but really only had desserts, so we ended up getting DoorDash one night. A little mishap with the address in DoorDash, so be sure you pick the right physical address. One final thing is they don’t actually have a spa, it’s in-room massage. I was really misled on this from the website. We walked to an actual spa, RainSpa ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ Would stay again in a heartbeat. The location was perfect for everything. A 15-20 minute walk to all major destinations. Great shopping as well.

Clean, well-appointed. Lovely room with high ceilings. Sadly the gym was out of order and, had I known, I would have booked elsewhere. I would have appreciated an email from the hotel to have shared this prior to arrival. Otherwise the location is fantastic and staff was wonderful.

I had a terrible stay at this property. Not even close to what I expect from a five-star stay. When we entered our room, it was like being in a sauna and we didn't even have a phone to call downstairs so I had to use my personal cellphone. The guy who came to "help us" from the hotel said he'd fixed things and we went down for dinner. When we came back about 2 hours later, STILL HOT. We called again, another guy said the room AC was broken. But it had to have been this hot when they were cleaning in the morning... how did they not report it? He wanted us to switch room but we had to leave for our pre-scheduled show reservation. We called almost 40 minutes before we left, but someone only came 5-10 minutes before. By the time we got home from the show, it was 1am. When we turned down the bed, there was a huge lipstick stain on the inner comforter. We were just too tired and it was only a one-night stay. We called downstairs to speak to the manager in the morning. The manager tried to invalidate our concerns and we had to push to get a credit of any kind. This is a five-star hotel, they're supposed to bend over backward on service, and I've stayed in hostels that are better and cleaner. Avoid avoid avoid. I don't hold this against them, but there was also a protest happening that made us weary about leaving. So be warned if there's any kind of geopolitical situation, you could end up with a protest right outside your door.

The room was dirty. There was dirt on the walls and floors in the bathroom and living area that was not touched during the duration of our stay for 5 nights. I have pictures, if needed. The slippers provided were previously used. Was given only one drinking glass and one wine for a party of two. Hamburger served in the restaurant was cold. The replacement order was also cold. Our room was described as facing the garden. Apparently, the garden is a roof top with fake grass & plastic plants and noisy equipment. This facility is certainly not a 5 star hotel as advertised. Very disappointed but unable to shorten my stay due to Expedia.com policy.

Birks has unfortunately gone downhill in recent years. Customer service is only average - while employees are friendly, there were multiple instances where items we ordered from the concierge never made it to our room. Our room was also only moderately clean - no major issues in primary areas but there were dozens of cobwebs on the ceiling with multiple spiders. We had also booked the terrace room but unfortunately the terrace was not very clean (also had many spider webs) and lots of dust. Unfortunate given we paid more for that amenity. The elevators are also quite slow. Other than that, pros are that the hotel is centrally located and the lobby bar is quite nice. Will look at other options next time we visit.

A true gem hidden away in downtown Montreal. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to find the information for you. Check in was efficient and professional. The room was welcoming and spotless. Loved the Nespresso machine and 2 free water bottles. A gem boutique hotel. We also had dinner and breakfast at their Brasserie Henri. Vibe was very European and staff super professional.

Lors de notre arrivée, la cuvette de la toilette était sale. Nous l’avons nettoyé nous-mêmes. Nous entendions beaucoup la circulation à l’extérieur aussi. The king room had been remodeled at some point but still had the original and very inadequate closet space. In general, the room lacked storage with only an older dresser for additional storage. The bathroom remodel was awkward, the shower door only opened inwards and against the shower controls making it very difficult to turn on and adjust temperature without getting in. The shaving mirror was not firmly fixed to the wall and one of the bulbs on the illuminated mirror was out which indicates daily maintenance does not happen.The HVAC seemed to have a mind of it's own, the room kept getting overly hot and requiring manual override to cool it down again. The one time we wanted room service we were told the kitchen was closed! We would not choose to stay at this hotel again given the price point.

Room was incredibly noisy due to demonstration and proximity to noisy street and when asked for a diff room they said they didn’t have the “same category” room available so would need to charge me $100 extra ! I went to look at room. It’s was maybe a TINY bit larger but not really noticeable and there was no “garden view”. When I queried that point they said there is a tiny green patch in the area, but admitted that this was not visible from the room. Offered to discount down to $70 but still ridiculous. It was 5:30pm when we got there(room was not ready at 4 like it was supposed to be) and they said they still might be able to sell the room for that night for more $$ so could not do complementary. Additionally - the 4 “panels” of black out blinds did nothing to block the sun. What a useless design/decor.

The room we stayed at was nice but with strange layout. The bathroom was totally opened to the bedroom. The sofa bed was not suitable time sleep on. You feel the metal tubes of the frame when you lie on it. The hotel should not market this room to a family of 4. The shower had low pressure. The closet was inconvenient to use. The room thermostat was set to 21 degrees and after a few hours the temperature of the room got to 26 degrees. Sometimes you call downstairs and it takes a minute or 2 until they answer. The restaurant downstairs offers breakfasts but not tasty. Bellboys are not always available. When we left the hotel with five pieces of luggage, no one assisted us in holding the door to the outside of the building. House keeping was great as well as the drinks at the bar.

Had to move rooms , our upgrade was really not much of an upgrade but then they had to move us as our TV did not work. Once we got into our other room the TV again did not work. Wi-Fi was a huge issue. Would not stay there again.

Wonderful stay! Super comfortable spacious room. Appreciated having double sinks in the bathroom. AC worked fantastic which was a huge plus for us as it was very hot and humid outside during our stay. Enjoyed dessert in the restaurant. Overall a really lovely stay.

The staff exceeded expectations. On my last day in Montreal there was a demonstration that shut down all of the streets around the hotel. I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to get a Uber/taxi to the airport. The hotel staff arranged a car to pick me up a couple of blocks away and walked me all the way to my ride. I cannot thank them enough!

Staff was extremely courteous and could not have been more helpful with all of our needs. Rooms were extremely clean, restaurant in the lower level of the hotel were extremely courteous and service was exceptional. I would not hesitate to return to his hotel. Montreal did not disappoint us at all!

Received multiple phone calls and notes under my door, requesting me to come to the front desk and re-scan my credit card for incidentals. My card was scanned at check-in with no issue. After a subsequent phone call a day later I went downstairs to address the issue and they told me everything was fine with my card and not to worry. The next two days I received two separate notes under my door requesting me now again come back down to reception to re-scan my credit card. Additionally, the room service availability and times is difficult with limited offering. I arrived at 9:45 PM and was told the kitchen was closed. The only thing available was a salad or sandwich.

There was an issue with checking in.. Apparently someone with the same name as me had already checked in earlier that same day. I was asked to wait to the side while they “investigated”. My family and I were questioned, where am I coming from? Who are we meeting here? Whats purpose of visit ? (Let’s back track a bit, we drove over 8 hours and it was half past 10pm in the evening, we are exhausted. We just want to go get into our room) Finally after waiting on the side of the front desk while 3 men whispered and tried to find a solution. Finally one of the receptionist called me over and said “someone with your name checked in earlier, not to worry we have found another room for you” I never met anyone in my over 40 years of existence met anyone with my same exact name.. and to top it off.. did they ask for ID when checking in ? Wouldn’t there be TWO reservations in “the exact name”. I’m having a hard time believing that. I was too tired to question anything, I was concerned about my identity the entire time. I did get a few “I’m sorry” and I’m sure they were apologetic, the experience was so unique, unpleasant and the weekend to celebrate an anniversary and my wife’s birthday started off very upsetting. I wouldn’t expect an upgrade or anything of much financial value, but a hand written note left after room service would have been nice.. but NOPE.. didn’t get room service either, we had to stop someone in hallway for a towel. Wouldn’t come back at all..

WORST HOTEL MANAGEMENT! Do not stay here. This is not a 5* hotel. Sketchy area with loud creeps outside. Unable to sleep. We had an issue with our room, and despite another room being available, we were told to wait until 11:30 pm and call reception back because they didn’t want to escalate the issue to a manager and resolve the problem. In the morning, called down to have 2 towels brought to our room. 45 mins later they arrived. After we showered. Ridiculous. 45 min wait as well to get wine delivered the night before. Once we checked out, I called the manager to speak about the issue and was promised a call back 2 days ago, and it’s been radio silence. Anytime I call I get the run around or rudely disregarded. They do not fix issues or respect people’s time or money. $800 wasted on a perpetual headache caused by the bad service at this place. Stay at four seasons or Ritz.

This hotel is definitely where you want to stay when visiting downtown! It is walking distance to everything! We parked our car and never got it out till day of departure. The service from every aspect of this hotel was top notch! The terrace king room is AMAZING! Look forward to coming back again very soon!

The phone is the room did not work. Very loud music until 11 pm across the street. With the Bay being closed the area has a significant population of unhomed people. Very dirty city with a lot of construction.

Loved the room and front desk staff. Went for brunch and we were told we had to order from the breakfast menu as we were 15 min. early. By the time we got our water 15 min had passed.I ordered the granola parfait and therer was no granola in it, when I asked for the granola it came in a tiny silver cup filled with granola dust! My daughter aand I were very dissapointed. This was a special visit to see her. There are so many better spots for brunch in Montreal.
