My wife, our 8-month-old daughter, our dog, and I stayed at Alfred Sommier for two nights. This was the second time my wife and I stayed here, and I have to say—it was even better this time. The hotel is located close to Galeries Lafayette, L’Opéra Garnier, and Rue Royale, making it perfect for anyone who loves to stroll and explore Paris. This time, we arrived by car and were offered parking, which was very convenient. Since we were traveling with our daughter and dog, we opted for a deluxe room. Just like the rest of the hotel, the room was beautifully decorated in keeping with the overall style of the building, while blending modern comfort with contemporary design. The staff were professional and friendly—from our initial phone contact to check-in, housekeeping, and breakfast service. Our dog was welcome everywhere in the hotel, and there was no extra charge, which was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast is wonderful. Personally, I prefer quality over quantity, and at Alfred Sommier, you get both. There are plenty of options, but above all, everything is of the highest quality. I’ve tried many croissants, but I’ve yet to find one better than the one served at this hotel. We are very happy with our stay and will definitely return—and we’ll be recommending your lovely hotel to friends and family visiting Paris.

Being near the Madeline is a great location. The rooms are small, some very small for a high price. The inner courtyard allows light in the rooms but can be loud with cars, rolling suitcases, groups and motorcycles if you stay on a lower floor. The gym is small. It is a former house which provides some charm but it operates more like a house, than a hotel. Some front desk staff could be more helpful and knowledgeable.

This was my second stay at Alfred Sommier. Some highlights included friendly reception Victoria, spacious room, location of property being in walkable distance to most sights. Some drawbacks included poor concierge team who were not very helpful with making reservations, unfriendly breakfast room staff. The hotel also hosted conferences during our stay and as a result of their small space were not able to accommodate hotel guests for a drink or snack in the bar area.

We had a triple premium suite. The layout of the suite was quite small due to the second bedroom. The wall to wall carpet was stained. However, the beds were very comfortable, and the swing open double windows with a view of the property was a nice perk. The bathroom was updated and clean with a generously sized soaking tub, and double sink. The linens and towels were clean and of good quality. Housekeeping did a wonderful job. The breakfast buffet was a lovely and convenient option. The staff member who appeared the be of Asian descent at the buffet was very attentive and kind. The gym was extremely minimal. The property itself was beautiful.

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful old building but have all the amenities that you need to feel at home. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant with a lovely terrasse. Room was spacious and lovely and great bedding. Location is great in the middle of everything but in a quiet street. Can't wait to go back

Save your money and stay somewhere else. This hotel didn’t feel like a 5 star hotel, it felt like a 3 star hotel. I have been to Paris 5 times and this was the worst hotel I have stayed at. The rooms are extremely outdated. The hallways had very old carpets with stains all over them. The service is very slow and not very welcoming. Our room smelled extremely bad. We told the staff that we were dissatisfied with our room because the sink was clogged and overall it was very outdated and they were nice enough to move us into another terrace room. The room was equally as bad as the other one. Bathroom had a very terrible smell, the housekeeping was awful. They didn’t clean the room at all. They only changed the towels and they put the old used spoons back instead of replacing them with clean ones. I don’t recommend this hotel at all and I will never stay here again.

We advised the Hotel that we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and the Hotel did not acknowledge. Our room was very nice and comfortable but the hallways were terrible. The carpets were old and dirty. The common areas are not well kept. Marble is dull and looks dirty. Entrance is dark, unkept and unwelcoming. Definitely is not a 5 star hotel and is barely a 4 star at best. One day, we were out all day and our room was not cleaned when we returned at 15:00z

The Hotel Alfred Sommier is lovely. My five year -old daughter and I stayed for four nights—housekeeping is excellent, the staff is attentive (they repaired a leak in our shower swiftly and without issue!), and the beds are comfy. As it is an old building, some things could use refreshing here or there, and the breakfast is rather simple but all in all, it was delightful.

Overall our stay at this hotel was good except that housekeeping keeps on missing something in the room, if not the shower gel, it’s the small towel or milk for coffee or the complimentary drinks. We have to call almost everyday to bring the missing item(s). Also the hall is a bit noisy. The hotel is well located.

It's a very nice hotel. The only problem was with the service. Several times towels were missing after the room was made up, water wasn't replaced, and coffee wasn't replaced. We had to call the front desk several times for these items. Breakfast service was not very attentive. We had to go look for the waiter repeatedly to get coffee and refills of coffee. One server was unpleasant and unfriendly and acted like we were bothering him. The coffee machine wasn't functioning properly. The front desk said they would send someone. After an hour and a half I went to the front desk to ask again for assistance. They were surprised no one had come yet. I waited another half hour before someone finally came to the room. This sort of thing is really not acceptable in a hotel that charges these prices.

This was our 3rd time staying at Alfred Sommier and it was gorgeous as usual. We had booked a terrace room this time and were not thrilled with the size, bathroom or balcony, so we upgraded to the junior suite. Worth every penny! What a gorgeous room! Location is excellent, close walking distance to both Madeline and Concord metro stations as well as Printemps and Galleries Lafayette. Tons of great places to eat nearby as well. This is our home away from home in Paris and we look forward to our next stay.

The service wasn’t that friendly, the junior suite we got wasn’t as pretty as pictured and the WiFi is terribly slow. I couldn’t even load YouTube short videos or instagram reels. It was basically enough to check email. I would not recommend the breakfast service; it was very understaffed, pretty limited spread and just not worth the money. For the pros, it was an amazing location, the suite was clean and nice with a narrow terrace. The bed was comfortable. The overall hotel aesthetic was nice but it did not feel homey because the service was so cold (adequate but definitely don’t expect smiles or warmth). To me, this was a 4 star experience but I expected 5 stars so a little disappointed but our stay was fine. I probably would not return though.

Was given the handicap room because it was fashion week so that was unexpected. The room had stained carpet, an open shower (no tub) with no door or divider for obvious reasons but had two flimsy curtains that clung to you as you bathed. Water went everywhere in the bathroom which you could see the water damage on the door and mold building on the wall tile caulking. The bed was very comfortable, the property was pretty and quiet, breakfast was very nice and the staff was lovely.

Being near the Madeline is a great location. The rooms are small, some very small for a high price. The inner courtyard allows light in the rooms but can be loud with cars, rolling suitcases, groups and motorcycles if you stay on a lower floor. The gym is small. It is a former house which provides some charm but it operates more like a house, than a hotel. Some front desk staff could be more helpful and knowledgeable.

My wife and I went to Paris to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary and stayed at Hotel Alfred Sommier. The hotel is located central on a smaller, less busy street. The aesthetics of the hotel is lovely. The perfectly restored 19th century interior with a modern touch, makes this hotel the perfect setting for a Parisian getaway. We stayed in a superior room and it was unfortunately quite small and narrow. We asked for the possibility of upgrading the room, but unfortunately this wasn’t possible due to no available deluxe rooms. The storage space was limited and the placement of the wardrobe made it very difficult to use the integrated mirror. If it wasn’t for the high ceilings and lovely windows the room would feel even smaller. The glass wall in the shower was far too short and there was no door, which resulted in water spraying everywhere. The basin was very deep and there wasn’t a makeup mirror, which made it very hard to get up close to the mirror for both shaving and for my wife to do her makeup. Every morning we had breakfast at the hotel and it was very nice, especially the baguettes, the butter, selection of cheese and the yoghurt. The staff were very friendly and helpful, both upon early arrival and letting us store our luggage after checkout. We will definitely come back, but next time we will book the deluxe room instead.

Dissapointing experience considering this is a 5* hotel. First night we arrived and checked in. Staff were friendly but unfortunately the internet in our room was not working. Because it was late (10pm) we were advised to come back in the morning which was fine. That night my nights sleep was awful. The room was noisy and all i could hear all night was the people.in the room above. They were not partially noisy. But just due to the age of the building i could hear every step on the floor above as well as just normal conversation. Then in the morning we went to open the curtains and they didnt open due to a fault with the cords. Anyway we asvised reception of the issue with the internet (again) and also the curtains not opening before we left for the day. Arriving back late, we went to our room to find that the internet still was not working and likewise the curtains had now been opened, but would not close as they were still broken. Eventuality reception gave us a new room and at 1am we were walking through the hotel transferring all of our belongings. Overall, beautiful hotel in a great location, and the staff were freindly but i was expecting a lot more from this hotel and ultimately was left very dissapointed considering the cost. Maybe we just unlucky.

The service wasn’t that friendly, the junior suite we got wasn’t as pretty as pictured and the WiFi is terribly slow. I couldn’t even load YouTube short videos or instagram reels. It was basically enough to check email. I would not recommend the breakfast service; it was very understaffed, pretty limited spread and just not worth the money. For the pros, it was an amazing location, the suite was clean and nice with a narrow terrace. The bed was comfortable. The overall hotel aesthetic was nice but it did not feel homey because the service was so cold (adequate but definitely don’t expect smiles or warmth). To me, this was a 4 star experience but I expected 5 stars so a little disappointed but our stay was fine. I probably would not return though.

The hotel is located close to Galeries Lafayette, L’Opéra Garnier, and Rue Royale, making it perfect for anyone who loves to stroll and explore Paris. This time, we arrived by car and were offered parking, which was very convenient. Since we were traveling with our daughter and dog, we opted for a deluxe room. Just like the rest of the hotel, the room was beautifully decorated in keeping with the overall style of the building, while blending modern comfort with contemporary design. The staff were professional and friendly—from our initial phone contact to check-in, housekeeping, and breakfast service. Our dog was welcome everywhere in the hotel, and there was no extra charge, which was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast is wonderful. Personally, I prefer quality over quantity, and at Alfred Sommier, you get both. There are plenty of options, but above all, everything is of the highest quality. Suitably unimpressed. The value for money just isn’t quite there. We arrived tired from our flight at 2230 in the evening. Despite advising our arriving time, there was no staff at reception for over 30 minutes (Etienne). Our room (room no.1) was terrible! It was in a building separate from the main hotel. It was ground floor with no privacy, freezing cold with the heating not working! The room was next to the reception toilets and beneath a hard wood set of stairs, so it was noisy. The following morning, the scrambled eggs were underdone and cold. At this stage I demanded that my room be changed, as I didn’t feel like what we had reflected the €480 per night price. Etienne informed me that when we came back from our day out, we’d have a new room with our belongings transferred (we explicitly spent time repacking for this to happen). When I’d returned from our day out, I learned that Etienne had not handed this over and had to request the new room again. The new lady receptionist was excellent and our new room met our expectations. Day two breakfast was also much better. The Conciege, Victor and the gentlemen on the bell service and door were excellent. Etienne should be given more training. The location was lovely. I’d probably try somewhere else on my next visit.

My go to hotel in Paris. I love getting to know staff where I like to frequent and it always feels like a home away from home. Highly recommend the junior suites or above for comfort -- I happen to like a lot of space. The concierge is extremely helpful and love working with her.

Bellman not there on arrival. Construction jack hammer during the day. No iron in room. Went to bar no one there than guy comes to cover and wasn’t familiar with bar. They did give us early checkin. Property was nice. At breakfast was overpriced and ok.

When booking the hotel I chose the option to include breakfast. One would think, since booking a room with a king bed, that breakfast for two would be included however I was charged for a second breakfast upon checking out. Not the experience I envisioned while checking out!

I loved the location and traditional architecture and internal courtyard Rooms are too small, staff is friendly but amateurish. Lots of used room service trays stay in common parts for too long. Staff use same lifts as guests with big trolleys Street side is noisy with some construction early. Housekeeping forgets water and tissue paper refilling.

The property and rooms are not luxury by usa standards. Rooms are small, no sofa and minimal closet space. We stayed 5 days in early April and AC was not operating in the hotel. Garden area was spartan with no flowering plants. Dining room is small and has minimal natural light. Breakfast is 35 euro per person.

El hotel en si está buen situado, pero los servicios son mejorables. Y el restaurante es un desastre de proporciones épicas. 1- Habitaciones pequeñas. Aunque limpias. Cama correcta. Nada memorable. He dormido en camas de 4* mejores. 2- El aparcamiento es público, no está en el hotel, si lo está el aparcacoches tienes que ir tú y el parking es enrevesado. He dormido en camas de 4* mejores. 2- El aparcamiento es público, no está en el hotel, si lo está el aparcacoches tienes que ir tú y el parking es enrevesado. AC doesn’t really work and at this price point I expected more. When I asked for help with the AC front desk asked if I tried opening the window. Room was basic and pretty outdated. Won’t stay here again at these prices.
