The room and location were excellent. However there is no parking in the hotel so you have to use the paid parking on the street. It’s close by but a little on the pricey side. Overall the hotel is great and comfortable.

This hotel has excellent amenities (PJ, slippers, coffee in room, good size room, king bed, mini frig). The location is within walking distance of bamboo forest, monkeys, rail station. Easy taxi ride to other sites. There are breakfast places and dinner places also within walking distance. Definitely would recommend to family and friends.

The property is located in a convenient location - less than 2 blocks away from the train station, and near the Bamboo Grove (walkable), with plenty of dining options, convenience store and laundromat nearby. The rooms were roomy, clean, with toiletries and amenities provided. Staff was great and friendly, and very helpful (they told us about the laundromat that was a block away from the hotel when we asked for laundry services). I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit Arashiyama.

Really nice stay that is quite close to the bamboo forest entrance. The owner ran the front desk and was so sweet. She left a heartfelt personalized card in our roommwith two perfect origami. The room was really great - she made us aware that there are limited views because of the location, but ymwe could still see the Arashkima forest from our balcony. Nespresso in the room (huge plus!), high quality green tea with a beautiful tea set, and great japanese amenities.

Several excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. Easy walking distance to several shrines and parks. The hotel itself is small but the rooms generous in size. Nice bathrooms. Extremely clean, quiet and with a friendly staff. Breakfast in your room (choice of Japanese or Western) was quite good. Recommend highly. Small property but packs a punch. Offered a refreshing tea upon arrival. Close to the bamboo forest, but you can the escape the hustle and bustle of the sea of tourists. Rooms and clean and tidy. And very large! Would stay there again for sure.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I liked that it was close to the bamboo forest (only a short bus ride). The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. The room was spacious, the bathroom was awesome with a tub, shower and rainfall shower head. They had various bathroom amenities and additonal things you could request. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and spoke English. Two things I didn't love. 1. The breakfast wasn't great nor worth the cost. I ordered the western breakfast. There are coffeeshops in the area, according to google. Plus a convenience store not too far (near the station, which is very close to the hotel). 2. There is no laundry facility on site. This may have been an error on hotels.com's end, but this location does not offer laundry. This is a laundromat about a block or 2 away, across the street. However, it is very small and only had a few washers, which were all taken when I arrived. I dont think I would stay here again. All the hotels I stayed in during my 2 weeks in Japan were nice and this one was the most expensive.

We love the hotel so much and highly recommend to all of you. We rent a Japanese style room with annex with high CP value. The room is very spacious especially the bathing area and the design is quite modern. The bed is comfortable and big enough for our family (2 adults and 2 kids in 2 y.o. and 4 y.o.). The room is clean and smells good with a decent wooden smell. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the JR Saga Arashiyama station and is easy to be found. The hotel is located at the residential area, so it is quite quiet but feeling safe to stay. There is a small Aeon Supermarket nearby. We tried to take a taxi back to the hotel which just cost around 600 japanese dollars and it is affordable if you don’t wanna walk to the main sightseeing spots. The staff are so nice, they greet you with big smile every time you walk across the lobby. It is highly appreciated that they offer us a room immediately without extra charge when we arrived the hotel early in the morning. We are so tired after the midnight flight with the 2 kids without a proper sleep. We are supposed to check in at 3pm but they said our room is ready when we arrive at 10:30am. We take a shower and have a good sleep before having dinner. This is an excellent hotel I ever had in Japan.

We stayed in this hotel while visiting Arashiyama and we were beyond impressed with the hotel overall. From the walking distance to the Saga Arashiyama train station, superb quality of the rooms, cleanliness, attention and friendly staff, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Loved staying here, very short walk from station (hauled my luggage through the rain). I stayed in both the room style A (2nd floor) and B(5th floor). A is my favorite layout, balcony has street view which was nice. On 5th floor B style the window do not open more than a slit (due to safety) and wasn't see through so the beautiful mountain view outside couldn't be enjoyed from the bed but balcony has the view. Friendly staff, they helped me get an item that I left in Tokyo hotel. Clean rooms and amenities. Would stay again.

The room, bathroom, AND the shower are probably the biggest of all the hotels where we’ve stayed in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Did not feel cramped whatsoever. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk to the Arashiyama bamboo forest. The location is perfect if you plan to visit the surrounding areas there

The staff offered me a cup of tea as I was checking in. The room was spacious. The shower and tub area was great and included a rainfall shower too. The bed was comfortable. The tea and water in the room. The balcony with a view of the mountains. And it was so close to the train station. I would come back for sure. I wish I could have stayed longer. GREAT place to stay.

Beautiful room with balcony overlooking the city and mountains. Location is by the bamboo forest and we thoroughly enjoyed that! The room was spacious for a Japanese hotel not to mention very comfortable. A is my favorite layout, balcony has street view which was nice. On 5th floor B style the window do not open more than a slit (due to safety) and wasn't see through so the beautiful mountain view outside couldn't be enjoyed from the bed but balcony has the view. I've never encountered more thoughtful and friendly staff in my life. Even in a country known for hospitality, the staff here shine brighter than all the rest. The room was amazing too. Walk-in shower! Lots of things to see and places to eat in walking distance. And the station is barely a block away. Id say it's worth visiting Kyoto just to stay at this hotel.

We love the hotel so much and highly recommend to all of you. We rent a Japanese style room with annex with high CP value. The room is very spacious especially the bathing area and the design is quite modern. The bed is comfortable and big enough for our family (2 adults and 2 kids in 2 y.o. and 4 y.o.). The room is clean and smells good with a decent wooden smell. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the JR Saga Arashiyama station and is easy to be found. The hotel is located at the residential area, so it is quite quiet but feeling safe to stay. There is a small Aeon Supermarket nearby. We tried to take a taxi back to the hotel which just cost around 600 japanese dollars and it is affordable if you don’t wanna walk to the main sightseeing spots. The staff are so nice, they greet you with big smile every time you walk across the lobby. It is highly appreciated that they offer us a room immediately without extra charge when we arrived the hotel early in the morning. We are so tired after the midnight flight with the 2 kids without a proper sleep. We are supposed to check in at 3pm but they said our room is ready when we arrive at 10:30am. We take a shower and have a good sleep before having dinner. This is an excellent hotel I ever had in Japan.

Everyone was beyond helpful! The staff helped with calling some places in Japan to help set up reservations. The room was spacious and had wonderful amenities. The bed was big and super comfortable. It was the best night of sleep we got while in Japan. We enjoyed walking around the town and to the bamboo forest.

The room, bathroom, AND the shower are probably the biggest of all the hotels where we’ve stayed in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Did not feel cramped whatsoever. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk to the Arashiyama bamboo forest. The location is perfect if you plan to visit the surrounding areas there

The staff offered me a cup of tea as I was checking in. The room was spacious. The shower and tub area was great and included a rainfall shower too. The bed was comfortable. The tea and water in the room. The balcony with a view of the mountains. And it was so close to the train station. I would come back for sure. I wish I could have stayed longer. GREAT place to stay.

My only complaint is that they are so rigid about early check in. The hotel is small and with a check out at 11am they is no reason they cannot accommodate early check in for those guests who need it.

Place is amazing, visiting about 3 weeks ago, and it is very spacious, very clean, and staff is very friendly and supportive. Located a 3 min walk from Arashiyama station, 10 min walk to Bambú Forest and aArashiyama touristy areas. This place it’s absolutely recommended.

Everything is within walking distance, including great restaurants, beautiful temples, the Bamboo Forest, etc…The room was large and the staff extremely accommodating, helpful, and friendly. The property is located in a convenient location - less than 2 blocks away from the train station, and near the Bamboo Grove (walkable), with plenty of dining options, convenience store and laundromat nearby. The rooms were roomy, clean, with toiletries and amenities provided. Staff was great and friendly, and very helpful (they told us about the laundromat that was a block away from the hotel when we asked for laundry services). I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit Arashiyama.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I liked that it was close to the bamboo forest (only a short bus ride). The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. The room was spacious, the bathroom was awesome with a tub, shower and rainfall shower head. They had various bathroom amenities and additonal things you could request. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and spoke English. Two things I didn't love. 1. The breakfast wasn't great nor worth the cost. I ordered the western breakfast. There are coffeeshops in the area, according to google. Plus a convenience store not too far (near the station, which is very close to the hotel). 2. There is no laundry facility on site. This may have been an error on hotels.com's end, but this location does not offer laundry. This is a laundromat about a block or 2 away, across the street. We stayed in the Japanese Western Style Annex, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Upon arriving the staff greeted us with cups of hot green tea, and were incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. They even made us a reservation at a restaurant for dinner one night, as many of the restaurants are on the smaller side and seating is limited. The room itself was fantastic, very cozy and quiet, which was much needed after 2 weeks in Osaka! Would absolutely stay here again, it was worth every penny (or yen I suppose).

This hotel has excellent amenities (PJ, slippers, coffee in room, good size room, king bed, mini frig). The location is within walking distance of bamboo forest, monkeys, rail station. Easy taxi ride to other sites. There are breakfast places and dinner places also within walking distance. Definitely would recommend to family and friends.

The bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and spoke English. Two things I didn't love. 1. The breakfast wasn't great nor worth the cost. I ordered the western breakfast. There are coffeeshops in the area, according to google. Plus a convenience store not too far (near the station, which is very close to the hotel). 2. There is no laundry facility on site. This may have been an error on hotels.com's end, but this location does not offer laundry. This is a laundromat about a block or 2 away, across the street. However, it is very small and only had a few washers, which were all taken when I arrived. I dont think I would stay here again. All the hotels I stayed in during my 2 weeks in Japan were nice and this one was the most expensive.

Great location in Arashiyama! Not so much amenities such as gym, restaurant and etc., but this is not what we needed here. Clean, comfortable, spacious room made the stay very convenient and nice. Would love to come back!
