The villa was amazing and very spacious. There’s a shuttle to take you down to the main lobby when staying at the top of the mountain . The shuttle service can take you many places for free . There’s golf cart services as well that will take you around the resort.

We visited Montecristo this year for our family vacation. Best decision ever!!!!! The layout of the property is unique along with fantastic ocean and mountain views. We loved the privacy at the Villa and the personal hot tub and pool. Several options of going out to dine or order suite service for food, drinks, etc. in the comfort of the Villa! There is nothing to dislike at this resort, but the property is so large you have to call for a ride to really get around the resort. If there is anything not to like it would be the intro from the sales dept., upon checking in to take a timeshare tour. Over all it’s a 10/10, book and enjoy, we sure did!

App is not as user friendly and information is not up to date but the staff of the hotel is very helpful and willing to help. The shuttle is great and reliable and usually gets there sooner , which is good but if you want more flexibility -- I recommend a car rental.

The property appeared to have staff shortages and the pool amenities were more than max capacity accross all of the Pueblo Bonito properties we visited. The Sunset Property closed pools for weddings and special events on the weekend we stayed. Be prepared to be inconvenienced by having to ride on a golf cart or in a van to get anywhere on the property(s). It is on a side of a mountain literally. Overall staff is very friendly and helpful...but frenzied due to the shear volumes of people they were caring for. Our 3 bd villa was cleaned 2 of the seven days we stayed and when we notified the front desk we were told by the front desk mgr, cleaning was not included it the expedia package only for the timeshare owners. Crazy comment...how were we suppose the get towels? Our package was over $5,000. If your looking for a "resort" experience this is not the property for you.

This was our second time staying in the villas at Montecristo. The resort is beautiful and has much to offer. Dining options are great and shuttle transportation is prompt and drivers are courteous. The villas are spacious and the private pool and hot tub are top on our priority since pools in the resort are crowded. The villa was clean, but the floors needed to be mopped. The villas could also use some updating and TLC. Overall, great place and I would return.

We stayed for girls trip 6/20-6/24. We used to love staying at Monte Cristo yearly until this year. We had a terrible experience. Our villa was supposed to be ocean view which it was not. Our Villa faced all dead bushes with no landscaping. We found cockroaches in the master bedroom and by the front door. Lower bedroom had no hot water. We had no phone service the day before we were leaving. We addressed all these concerns when we arrived to Alejandro Guzman, the guest service experience manager. Several times I asked for a supervisor or general manager and was told each time that there was no one on site. I sent two emails since we have arrived home to Alejandro and he has never once replied. Needless to say this will be the last time we ever stay at this Pueblo Bonito Monte Cristo. We asked for a different room or a credit and was told they only had one other room open, on the 3rd day of our trip that was no better. I reached out over a month before we arrived to see if we could get the same villa we had in the past, there was no response to that. I have sent so many friends/family to this place in the past Would like this email to be escalated to someone who cares. Cheryl Sommer

The property is old and not well maintain, we had a rauch in teh bedroom flying around, the water they use to water the landscaping is not clean and smells like sewage. The villa was in really bad conditions, the BBQ was extremely dirty, the pool had thousands of tiles missing. The service at the front desk is very unfriendly and they just don't smile at all. The restaurants Are extremely busy, you have to make lines of 45 minutes to get food that takes other 30 minutes to be served and with bad attitude. Overall is a 6 for me. I will never be back there!

The rooms were clean . We loved having our own pool and spa. The views from the back deck are fabulous. The distance to the restaurants is a bit daunting. The room service worked ok but you have to work ahead since it took 35-40 minutes. The internet never worked while we were there.

The property itself was clean, upkept and pretty. However, our villa, was old and needs a definite upgrade. I am not one to complain or do a review on anything, but I spent a lot of money and expect a place w the times. Chunks of floor gone, patched walls, every faucet in every bathroom, old w lime around and on them. Dryer didn’t work, no laundry soap. Sorry but I feel if the owners of this particular villa should be told

Supplies like toilet paper were scarce, kitchen utensils were few and in very bad shape. We were told a person would come in the middle of our stay to do some cleaning, but nobody came to help with the cleaning. In general, whenever we asked anything about the property to the main office, they said that because this was a rental, they could do nothing. It was not clean in Expedia when we booked the property that this was a rental property. The lack of communication from the rental company make things more difficult than necessary, this was a disappointing experience given the price we paid for the property.

Montecristo is a great place within the quivira territory. Nice houses with lots of space. However we needed several things fixed during our stay. AC didn’t work properly, grill had to be checked up 3 times, electric stove didn’t work, microwave was broken. This isn’t the standard you would expect for a high daily rate

The ocean view was absolutely stunning!!! I also loved the large space that they offered. The shuttle service was very prompt. I loved the staff over at the market they were all so fun and friendly

We have stayed 2 times this year (2023), January and June. Area - The MC area of the community is nice. It is Not Walkable. There are 2 phases to the villa , 1 is the original phase (older) units and phase 2 - newer. If you are wanting a golf cart to move around in - these are only allowed on the lower sections of either phases. Without a golf cart, you will need to wait for the transportation shuttle vans to move you around. These are not always the quickest. Alway verify and check in to make sure you have a ride back from where ever you go. Shuttles go to specific spots and do not automatically come back to your drop off unless you tell them. Villas - the newer villas are situated in a quieter location. Phase 1 on the lower area has the continuous noise of vans and truck struggling to make it up the hills. AC - the bedroom AC seem to not get as cool as the AC in the main living area. (Happened in both villas). Pool is warmed year round…this is great in the winter and fall but in June it is like a hot tub. Staff - once at the community the staff is great, attentive and pleasing. Trying to communicate via Expedia or directly via concierge email is a bit harder. Sales Staff - Sales group is at check in and will hound you to take the sales tour but are not overly pushy. Market - Great concept and food is good. Wish they would have a small sundry shop in the market. There is a small deli / shop in the Sunset beach resort for smaller items

We visited Montecristo this year for our family vacation. Best decision ever!!!!! The layout of the property is unique along with fantastic ocean and mountain views. We loved the privacy at the Villa and the personal hot tub and pool. Several options of going out to dine or order suite service for food, drinks, etc. in the comfort of the villa! There is nothing to dislike at this resort, I would say the property is so large you have to call for a ride to really get around the resort. If there is anything not to like it would be the intro from the sales dept., upon checking in to take a timeshare tour. Overall, it’s a 10/10 book and enjoy, we sure did!

I stayed in Monte Christo twice during my stay. The first one was great. The second one we had baby roaches in the house. The air conditioning in the main bedroom was broken. We called in twice, and they never came to fix it. This was a horrible experience that we paid a lot of money for and they did nothing about it.

Property is clean and beautiful! The staff are great! Karen Diaz made sure we were taken care of the whole time. She was very quick to respond to our needs. Shuttle services and drivers were timely and very polite. Room service was also punctual! Our whole experience was great from start to finish! Will definitely recommend and visit again!

The property appeared to have staff shortages and the pool amenities were more than max capacity accross all of the Pueblo Bonito properties we visited. The Sunset Property closed pools for weddings and special events on the weekend we stayed. Be prepared to be inconvenienced by having to ride on a golf cart or in a van to get anywhere on the property(s). It is on a side of a mountain literally. Overall staff is very friendly and helpful...but frenzied due to the shear volumes of people they were caring for. Our 3 bd villa was cleaned 2 of the seven days we stayed and when we notified the front desk we were told by the front desk mgr, cleaning was not included it the expedia package only for the timeshare owners. Crazy comment...how were we suppose the get towels? Our package was over $5,000. If your looking for a "resort" experience this is not the property for you.

We stayed for girls trip 6/20-6/24. We used to love staying at Monte Cristo yearly until this year. We had a terrible experience. Our villa was supposed to be ocean view which it was not. Our Villa faced all dead bushes with no landscaping. We found cockroaches in the master bedroom and by the front door. Lower bedroom had no hot water. We had no phone service the day before we were leaving. We addressed all these concerns when we arrived to Alejandro Guzman, the guest service experience manager. Several times I asked for a supervisor or general manager and was told each time that there was no one on site. I sent two emails since we have arrived home to Alejandro and he has never once replied. Needless to say this will be the last time we ever stay at this Pueblo Bonito Monte Cristo. We asked for a different room or a credit and was told they only had one other room open, on the 3rd day of our trip that was no better. I reached out over a month before we arrived to see if we could get the same villa we had in the past, there was no response to that. I have sent so many friends/family to this place in the past Would like this email to be escalated to someone who cares. Cheryl Sommer

The service was horrible!!!! No customer service what’s so ever at the Monte Cristo!!!!! Horrible!! Rude and dismissive!! They lie about restaurant closing times and pretty much everything else!! Have been to this resort 3 times before and it was really disappointing the way the service has declined!! Probably will not return again. Many options in Cabo!!

I’ve stayed here several times but this time the unit needed some upkeep. The water fountain to our unit was broken it was missing the upper portion so it looked terrible walking into our unit. Dining service to look a long time. Transportation inside the resort also took a very long time.

What could be better than a three better villa with amazing views and a private pool? It would be so much more pleasant if the service and check-in were not so disorganized. It takes about 20 mins per family to check-in due to the all-inclusive nature of many reservations. I suggest a separate line for those that don't need to wrangle every family member to put the bracelets on. Also, the bookings for golf are ridiculous. You can only book after you have checked-in? We extended a vacation for three nights at these villas ($$$$) and changed flights just to play golf not expecting this policy. By the time we checked-in there were not tee times and we never played. The people handling it were curt and not flexible and we got different information every single time we called. Not good.

When we checked in we were told that our villa that was for “up to 10 all inclusive ” wasn’t actually up to 10. We paid another 3k+ dollars because all inclusive wasn’t included in that. Management was no help and the girl that was helping us who said she was the reception manager was extremely rude. She was trying to give us analogies on why we were in the wrong but they didn’t make sense. When we got to our villa it had ants and little tiny bugs everywhere. The ice maker didn’t make ice and so we had to request it. The cleaners that came daily were great and so was Alex who we went through for anything we needed. We rented a golf cart for the week and I don’t think it’s worth it. They tell you that you’re able to take it anywhere in the resort but you can’t. The food has gone down hill since we were there two years ago. The best thing we found was brunch at the golf course. Dinner there for an up charge was also an option and was worth it! Service by the pools was pretty good as well. Due to the up charge, front desk girl who was so rude, bugs, and the food quality I wouldn’t go back.

This is a gated property with stand alone villas and hotels with common areas. Once you're on the property, it is safe and secured with lots of visitors from US and Canada. Property is starting to age but overall great experience and value.

During our recent stay we were captivated by the beauty and well-maintained appearance of the property. However, our overall experience was marred by several shortcomings, particularly in terms of amenities and service. One of the major drawbacks of the hotel is the challenging contour of the land it is built upon. Getting between different areas within the property proved to be quite difficult, and we were forced to rely heavily on the shuttle service provided. Sadly, this inconvenience was amplified when we discovered that our villa was nearly a mile away from the main market building, making it an arduous walk, especially for our elderly parents who were unable to make the journey. We ABSOLUTELY enjoyed our stay at the Montecristo Luxury Villas. The Villas are well maintained, comfortable beds and we had our own private, beautiful 2 story home with our own pool and 2 balconies. The views are amazing. We rented a car and were able to come and go at our convenience. I'm SO thankful we did not have to shuttle around everywhere. It's not hard to drive in this area once you get the hang of the speed bump / yield system. We went to the grocery store and bought our own food and drinks, and went out to eat whenever we wanted. We did try the Pueblo Bonita resort food, but did not purchase all inclusive. We wanted the freedom to eat wherever. If I had my children with me, I would opt for the all inclusive.... I highly recommend! We would love to come again. :)

You must go to other properties for options. You cannot Uber to or from your Villa as Uber is not allowed on property. You have to take a $20 cab ride one mile to the front gate then wait in Uber.

App is not as user friendly and information is not up to date but the staff of the hotel is very helpful and willing to help. The shuttle is great and reliable and usually gets there sooner , which is good but if you want more flexibility -- I recommend a car rental.

We stayed at a lovely villa in MonteCristo. It was an amazing view and so peaceful. Away from the party crowd noise. We loved the private pool. The shuttle service to the other resort amenities was very convenient.

We have stayed 2 times this year (2023), January and June. Area - The MC area of the community is nice. It is Not Walkable. There are 2 phases to the villa , 1 is the original phase (older) units and phase 2 - newer. If you are wanting a golf cart to move around in - these are only allowed on the lower sections of either phases. Without a golf cart, you will need to wait for the transportation shuttle vans to move you around. These are not always the quickest. Alway verify and check in to make sure you have a ride back from where ever you go. Shuttles go to specific spots and do not automatically come back to your drop off unless you tell them. Villas - the newer villas are situated in a quieter location. Phase 1 on the lower area has the continuous noise of vans and truck struggling to make it up the hills. AC - the bedroom AC seem to not get as cool as the AC in the main living area. (Happened in both villas). Pool is warmed year round…this is great in the winter and fall but in June it is like a hot tub. Staff - once at the community the staff is great, attentive and pleasing. Trying to communicate via Expedia or directly via concierge email is a bit harder. Sales Staff - Sales group is at check in and will hound you to take the sales tour but are not overly pushy. Market - Great concept and food is good. Wish they would have a small sundry shop in the market. There is a small deli / shop in the Sunset beach resort for smaller items

The market was amazing. The vila was beautiful, the issue was a couple of things. 1. We had no hot water in the master bathroom, and couldnt even use the Jacuzzi. 2. Our pool had a giant bees nest on it, and I am allergic to bees. 3. We had no WIFI to call our kids. When we complained about these issues, we were told this was not a property that they own, it was a private owner, and no one would fix any of the issues. We paid $3,200 for 5 days, and found out we could have booked 7 days for the same with all inclusive. We are very upset with the management for not trying to make anything better for us on our honeymoon.

The villas are spacious and the private pool and hot tub are top on our priority since pools in the resort are crowded. The villa was clean, but the floors needed to be mopped. The villas could also use some updating and TLC. Overall, great place and I would return.

I’ve stayed here several times but this time the unit needed some upkeep. The water fountain to our unit was broken it was missing the upper portion so it looked terrible walking into our unit. Dining service to look a long time. Transportation inside the resort also took a very long time.

When we checked in we were told that our villa that was for “up to 10 all inclusive ” wasn’t actually up to 10. We paid another 3k+ dollars because all inclusive wasn’t included in that. Management was no help and the girl that was helping us who said she was the reception manager was extremely rude. She was trying to give us analogies on why we were in the wrong but they didn’t make sense. When we got to our villa it had ants and little tiny bugs everywhere. The ice maker didn’t make ice and so we had to request it. The cleaners that came daily were great and so was Alex who we went through for anything we needed. We rented a golf cart for the week and I don’t think it’s worth it. They tell you that you’re able to take it anywhere in the resort but you can’t. The food has gone down hill since we were there two years ago. The best thing we found was brunch at the golf course. Dinner there for an up charge was also an option and was worth it! Service by the pools was pretty good as well. Due to the up charge, front desk girl who was so rude, bugs, and the food quality I wouldn’t go back.

Montecristo is a great place within the quivira territory. Nice houses with lots of space. However we needed several things fixed during our stay. AC didn’t work properly, grill had to be checked up 3 times, electric stove didn’t work, microwave was broken. This isn’t the standard you would expect for a high daily rate
