Stayed 1 night

Imagine you wake up from a coma and you go outside to find the world ended and mother nature has taken over. This hotel would be where most of the zombies live so you have to have your wits about you as you cross the carpark.... Joking aside, this would absolutely make a killing (pardon the pun) if they turned it into one of those zombie, end of the world experiences. Genuinely, they are missing a trick 70's style concrete high rise hotel - check overgrown and dilapidated carpark with unkept grounds- check Feels abandoned but you can sense some sort of dark presence - check Eerie hotel lobby - check Massive skip as you drive in with old toilets and rotting panelling - check Harsh review I know but its one of those nights away I will likely remember for a long time. I stay away with work a lot and in my 20 years covering the UK, Ireland and Europe this ones in the top 3 of worst hotels. I sent my boss a photo and he agreed I could go home..... I think I was the only one staying that night as the only staff member sent me around the back to a small outbuilding with a few rooms in. I kept one eye open all night. No restaurant or bar, just a few pubs in the local area that aren't that great. Avoid unless you want a taste of the apocalypse

Stayed in the annexe: room was fine. Recent bathroom makeover with a large walk in shower (very very slow drain though was threatening to overflow so cut shower short). It’s currently a building site but overall a decent clean place to break a journey or when working away. No bar available. There’s no shops within walking distance so bring your own refreshments.

I only booked this hotel because there was a bathtub in the picture which I need for medical reasons so I put a note on the booking regarding this and assumed everything was ok because I wasn’t contacted, however the pictures turned out to be old so the room was completely unsuitable with no other options but to have a very uncomfortable stay
