The hotel room is fairly big than I expected. Clean. The breakfast is one of the best among hotels we've been from other vacations. The 2 elevators/lifts are added plus. The room was serviced everyday and towels are changed everyday, perfect. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The breakfast and location were great. But that’s all the positives I can muster. The room was average and not totally clean with some maintenance issues unaddressed. The staff were not particularly helpful and the bar was mostly unattended. It’s a good 3 star hotel, but you’ll be disappointed if you are expecting a 4 star hotel.

The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. There's a bus stop in front of the hotel. Parking is $25 euros per night, but we parked on the street. Breakfast had more options than other hotels we stayed in. Good choice for families. The room with beds was spacious.

We stayed in San Giovanni Roma for 6 nights.Overall impression is good,but there are pisitive and negative impressions. The cleanliness is excellent- rooms are cleaned regularly and towels changed daily, no bad smells,dining hall is also always very clean.Also it is decorated in a modern style and looking very sleek,but homely comfortable.The atmosphere is calm and quiet,noise protection in the room is good.Breakfast is nutricious and fresh. The minuses- it is a bit far from the metro station - 15min walk.There is a bus stop nearby,but you have to wait quite long for a bus and often they are not on schedule. Also,there are no coffee or tee facilities in the rooms,which was a big disappointment. Bar exists downstairs.Breakfast lacks variety - you won't go hungry,but it is the same every day.TV has hundreds of channels, but all are in Italian.There is no laundry, but if you need - laundry services are provided at really high prices.The staff in the reception is OK,but could be a bit more welcoming and informative.There is no shuttle bus from the airport, as advertised on some sites.Also,don't forget about tourist tax at the end of your stay - which nobody reminds you of when you just get in the hotel.It came as a shocking surprise to pay 90euro at check out after we thought we paid everything while booking.

Hotel fora da ZLT, tem estacionamento próprio (pago), podendo deixar o carro na rua nas proximidades do hotel também. Chegamos antes do horário do check in e este foi antecipado sem nenhum custo a mais. Café da manhã excelente! Equipe educada. Recomendo.

The walls of my room were quite dirty. My “double bed” was also two twins pushed together that would separate throughout the night. I asked the staff for a bottle opener to open a bottle of wine and they told me it would be 5£ (cash only kind of suspicious) when the night before a different employee let me borrow it with no issues. Also tried to tell me outside drinks were not allowed in the hotel which I have never experienced staying at hotels all across the world. It felt like because I was young and only spoke English that I was taken advantage of. I would not stay here again and the only reason I rate it above average is because of the cleaning staff and the associate who was extremely kind when I checked out. Very dissatisfied for a 4 star hotel. It was also located about an hours walking distance from the main part of Rome.

Nice location, closish to station, opposite a mini supermarket and about 20 minute walk to colosseum. Very simple double room, no iron or kettle for tea/coffee. Breakfast was decent. Wouldn't mind coming again due to good location and price, wish there were a few more amenities.

Solides Hotel, etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Gute Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, zwischen 15-45 Minuten zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten in Rom, gute Taktung. Lebensmittelmarkt (Penny 😂) in unmittelbarer Nähe. Frühstück ok, klassisch mit Rührei, Erdbeermarmelade,…, daneben noch viele süße Gebäckstücke. Klimaanlage funktioniert einwandfrei, was in Rom sehr wichtig werden kann. Schöne große Dusche.

This hotel is not a four star. It definitely has an amazing spread for breakfast however it is dirty and the staff seemed to not be interested in helping you. Requests on the app are not adhered to.

The breakfast staff was amazing there was a man I dont remember his name but him and Enza were so sweet! They always knew my order right away for coffee. The service man was also very friendly making me feel welcomed with a smile. The location if very convenient and walkable or bus stops close by! The neighbourhood was very safe id walk at night time by myself as a solo female traveler i felt safe here. My only complaint would be the bald man with glasses at the front desk he was very rude my first check in when asking questions and was very uncomfortable for me as it was my first time travelling especially was not the best start as he checked me in. Other than that it was amazing !

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to recommend places to eat, gave us directions on how to get a bus, taxi, and train. They even were able to get us some plates and forks so that we were able to cut my birthday cake and have a little celebration in the lobby area. The breakfast staff was wonderful and polite as well. Thank you Hotel San Giovanni for a memorable vacation!

We spent 3 nights at Hotel San Giovanni Roma and truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a peaceful neighborhood but still offers easy access to the center of Rome via public transportation. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. One of the highlights was the wonderful breakfast each morning—fresh, varied, and beautifully presented. The staff were warm and helpful, always ready with a smile and great local advice. A relaxing and convenient base for exploring the Eternal City. Highly recommended!

Everything was fine until when i was checking out the man on the reception was very rude to me. No customer service at all!! I was in the process of paying the mandatory tax for the property and he just told me to "get out of his way". I was standing in front of the reception paying with my crefit card and talking to her female colleague. No manners at all!!! They should trained their staffs on how to communicate to their customers politely.

Abbiamo soggiornato in 4 , con stanze singole, soltanto per una notte per motivi lavorativi. Ottima accoglienza , personale qualificato e competente, curato in ogni dettaglio e cosa fondamentale pulizia impeccabile. Uniche pecche sono state la risposta poco cortese di una persona in reception la mattina della partenza, anche abbastanza adulta, mentre il resto del personale tanto qualificato e professionale. Altra pecca la colazione un pochino migliorabile. Per il resto ottimo su ogni aspetto. Posizione , eleganza,personale , cura e pulizia. Molto vicino al centro storico, quindi comodissimo ,parcheggio interno. Consigliatissimo , ci torneremo sicuramente.

Staff were very unfriendly and not helpful at all even though I am disabled. The man at the front desk did not offer any help with my bags and did not tell me what time breakfast was served. He did not tell me breakfast was included. I had to look all that up myself. Check out was also bad. The location of the hotel is extremely inconvenient. The description says it is close to the Colosseum, it's not. It's not close to anything. You don't feel safe in the area. This was supposed to be a VIP experience. It was highlighted as VIP on Expedia. It was not what I was hoping for at all.

My stay at this hotel was very comfortable. The room was small but just fine for one person, with a very nice bathroom. The entire property was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was fine, although I ended up only eating there once as the other days I was out early to try and see sites before they were too crowded. While it is not in the central part of historical Rome, it was a very pleasant walk to get to places such as the Colosseum. The staff was friendly and helpful, even though my Italian is extremely limited. Lots of great restaurants in the area, and because it was not a super touristic part of town they did not feel like tourist focused rip-offs, but more like a true Roman neighborhood. Bus stops right in front of the hotel and down the street, metro was a bit of a walk but the neighborhood feels very safe. While my next visit I might choose a centrally located hotel, I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel San Giovanni.

Amazing Hotel and would definitely recommend it! It is super clean, modern, and located in a quiet and safe area away from the buzz of the crowded areas! There are excellent restaurants and pubs around it and it is 15 min away (by foot) from the colosseum area.

The hotel is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, at about a 20min walk from the Colosseum. There are some restaurants very close by if you don't feel like venturing back into central Rome for the odd meal. There's a train station about 10 mins away, and a bus station also. The Baths of Caracalla is a historic site about 9-10 min walk away and well worth a visit. We (2 adults and a 11year old) walked everywhere, as have always enjoyed exploring a new city that way. If we got late getting back at night, we took a cab - about 11-15 euros depending on where we were. The hotel room we had was a triple, and spacious for this part of the world and very comfortable. Breakfast provided by the hotel was generous and buffet style, with hot and cold options and good coffee. Staff, whether at reception, or at breakfast were very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel San Giovanni - thank you!

Perfect hotel for exploring Rome. 20 minute walk to the Colosseum but in a comfortable residential area. Rooms are neither large or luxurious but they are clean and comfortable. Breakfast exceeded expectations for this price range. Front desk was always helpful with directions or advice. Will definitely stay again.

I stayed at this hotel for a week and it was honestly the best stay! My minibar was refilled each day, got all inclusive sumptuous breakfast each morning and my room was cleaned every morning either during my breakfast time or after I left the place in the morning/early afternoon. The staff were helpful in providing me things I needed like an iron, an outlet extension and were very helpful overall! They also helped me call my taxi when I had to go back to the airport. Extremely helpful and they spoke English too! Despite some negative reviews about thin walls, I had zero interruptions and no reason to complain about noise levels across my room so it was splendid and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting for the first time! (It was also a quick 20 minute walk to the Colosseum which was fantastic)

This hotel has been rated as a 4-star hotel, and I have to disagree, more like a 2-star hotel; Location is terrible, front desk staff are rude and for whatever reason it annoys them when we ask for ice. The room itself was way to small based on pricing. I do not recommend this hotel. They do not accommodate their staff. In house bar, I ordered the same thing for about a week and each day they charged me different. Breakfast buffet, no variety, very small and every day the same.
