The hotel is really close to the main plaza. It is really charming and beautiful, very personal with the courtyard and the pool. No street noise at all, as rooms are in second courtyard. Rooms were clean and have an old charm. Once the room service found out we had a kid, her towel was shaped each time in a different way, a rabbit, an elephant, a girl. Our daughter was absolutely delighted. Such a nice personal touch. Only the pool wasn’t super clean.

Hotel might be a little overpriced for what it has to offer. General rooms are Mexican vintage with much needed updates, as on every other area like the fountain in the entrance. Only a few suite rooms could enter under the “boutique” umbrella (for design, space and amenities). Pool was always cold during our stay, we couldn’t swim (and was part of our plan). Staff was nice. And location is very good for walking around downtown Merida.

All and all, the hotel was fine. Front desk people were great, friendly and helpful. Bar/restaurant people were at times rude, slow, and quite unfriendly. There were also a couple bellboys or whatever they were called that slept the entire time. Rooms were okay. Beds are firm/hard. Bathroom is small but functional. Pool was nice, water perfect temperature decent seating space for small groups. Restaurant was not really worth the money (especially breakfast). Very few options for breakfast. Location was pretty good, only 1.5 blocks from the main square.

right at the city centre the hotel has a rich historical background very traditional and historical parking is easy. you just need to park outside the hotel and they would provide valet parking for you. many good restaurants around room is spacious with a large window air conditioned

We stayed in the “garden view hot tub suite”. I would not book this room for the garden view or the hot tub. The hot tub was very old and had hair in it when we arrived. The room was big but overall would not stay here again. Woke up both nights with ant bites and spider bites. Ants all over the room. The staff was kind and we especially appreciated being able to book a CoVID test (to return to the USA) through the front desk, performed in our room. I do not think the poor conditions of the room should reflect on restaurant / front desk staff who were kind.

Great location, great outdoor ambiance. Got a master suit with jacuzzi which was really old and not what I was expecting on a master suit. Towels were also very rough. Personnel was nice and friendly. Bed and linens were also not that comfortable.

This is a very charming hotel just a short walk from the city historic center. This is not your cookie cutter hotel. Quiet, and relaxing. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. It has a beautiful patio courtyard with a fountain and a second courtyard with a pool. The room we had was very spacious with very high ceilings. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant staff were very attentive. I would come back to La Mision Del Fray Diego Boutique Hotel.

We were 4 peoples but they offert only two small water bottles. The desk at the room was in bad shape. Only towel were at the bathroom. The wifi was so unstable and slow!.The AC was really noisy, it was hard to sleep because this situation. The hotel is beautiful at outside but that it s all i will not return there.

The TV would not turn off so I had to unplug it. There was no tea kettle in the room, which I guess I should have checked on before as well as no fridge to keep drinks cold. The air was so humid that everything was always damp. The a/c did not dry out the room. The front desk told me Expedia does not collect money and re-charged me. When both charges showed up on my bank acct I had to confront the front desk. He tried to tell me he didn’t charge me but I showed him the charge on my phone and he still denied that they charged me. Although it was in the historic section and I could walk to the center of town, I would not recommend this hotel.
