This hotel is in a great location. Easy walking to old town and the beach. Main complaint was that the pool closes each day at 5pm which made it hard to utilize it. Breakfast was good, and the room was great. The best part of this hotel though is the staff. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We had a lovely time in Nice and the air conditioning was great to come back to at the end of a hot day!

Only two small drawers for clothes. Very loud music from the rooftop. Very loud late at night. Pool very small and very cold. Hot food at breakfast was cold: bacon and potatoes. Scrambled eggs were very loose and runny. Had good variety of breakfast options. Staffing was friendly and helpful.

Excellent location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was small but had a great balcony with a park/seaview. Rooftop pool was neat but small, closes at 5pm and crowded most of the time. Rooftop bar was excellent but somewhat pricy.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. It’s close to a lot of restaurants and beach and all the major attractions. It’s also great for shopping groceries bakeries and a lot of specialty coffee shops. I will definitely book it again. I wish the gym is slightly better but other than that, it’s pretty good.

The hotel has a great location and a stunning view from the roof top and it was great to be able to relax at the pool (unfortunately it closes at 5 pm) But the hotel has not been given any love since the early 80:s. Given pictures we saw before we booked, we were prepared that it would be a bit worn down, but didn’t expect it to be that bad and that the rooms are almost half the size as stated. The room that was supposed to be 25 m2 according to hotels.com was maximum 9 m2 plus a small bath, in total approx 16 m2 . We couldn’t even open the door to the balcony because the bed was in it’s way, There was only one poor lady cleaning too many rooms resulting in our room not being cleaned until 5 pm. Service staff was very nice though. Will not stay again which is a pity given the great location and pool. Note re the pictures: first two are what we got, third one how it was presented.

Good hotel close to both old town and the bigger shopping area. Great and friendly staff. Rooftop was amazing. Does not have a private beach like Expedia says.

Staff are very nice, they work with what they have. The hotel is in poor condition even remodeled room were poorly redone, cracks everywhere, some of the people didn’t have hot water. The roof top swimming pool, tiles are moving, you can trip at anytime. Can’t believe this is a 4 stars hotel. Won’t be back to this hotel and won’t recommend it.

However, maintenance was lacking—there was mold in the shower, not enough hangers, and the safe was placed inconveniently close to the floor. The air conditioning was weak, and despite calling maintenance twice, it was never resolved. Breakfast: Outstanding breakfast with a wide variety of options and friendly staff. The only issue was the lack of order around the boiled egg station—some guests did not respect the queue. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend the breakfast. Hotel Location: Perfect location—close to everything, with a tram stop just steps away. Ideal for exploring the city. Hotel Conditions: Unfortunately, maintenance is a serious concern. Many areas of the building feel abandoned. The rooftop pool was very dirty, lobby furniture was damaged, and the overall organization was poor. The hotel has great potential but needs better management and upkeep. Rooftop Bar/Restaurant: While the rooftop view is beautiful, the food was mediocre and took a long time to arrive. Service amazing, good location, roof top bar very good with an amazing view, ashamed about the cleanliness in the rooms, 1st room was dusty and there was 3 pair of socks from previous people left in the desk draw. 2nd room, a suite, in the bath there was the black ring from previous that has not been cleaned, sink with dry toothpaste, dusty floor throughout the place.

Property is not a 4 star. Horrible wifi if on business trip. Property is 3 star and is in need of a remodel. In our room cracked floor tiles in shower and main area. Room Not properly cleaned. Rooms are only receiving a surface clean not a deep clean. Roof top view is great and worth a stop if both elevators are working, expect a 15 minute wait as when we stayed only one lift was in operation. Property is over priced and just did not meet expectation. 3 star at best.

I was supposed to be in a premium room but the rooms are very old and lots of mold in the bathroom. It’s very easy and cheap to replace the plastic at the bottom of the shower screens and so many mold removers out there for tiles. This hotel needs to do better with their cleaning and inspecting rooms to see what maintenance is needed. I was there 6 nights and my sheets here not changed once.

Be careful!!! Bed bugs! Also my sheets weren’t clean, there was mold in the shower and by the toilet because of poor bathroom design it floods completely. The sink was broken and the water was slimy coming from the sink. I would wash my hands and they would have a coat of slimy residue on it. Please do not book here!

Rum i ok skick men en skavanker i badrum etc. Rummet luktade rök trots (eller pga?) vädring. Städning rätt tafatt, tog ej undan tomflaskor, fyllde ej på vatten i kyl etc. Bra läge dock.

The room was great although the air conditioning in the hallways was so loud I had to use earplugs. I saw a mouse in the breakfast area on my last morning at the hotel which rather ruined what had been a nice breakfast. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Frühstück sehr gut. Hotel leider stark in die Jahre gekommen u renovierungsbedürftig. Hygiene auch eher schwach. Betten u kopfpolster eher mau. Rooftopbar sehr teuer aber wunderschön! Lage sehr zentral u gut angebunden.

The room was next to the lifts, which made an audible mechanical noise. The blinders were not flexible, making it impossible to keep the room dark early in the morning. On the other hand, I liked the central location.

Got there at 1pm room not ready. Still not ready at 3pm check-in time. Reception had "no idea" when it would be. Forced to accept different room with bath/shower and on different floor. Very disappointed. Bath/shower unusable, shower flooded the bathroom and no taps to run bath. Would have preferred a better view on higher floor. Room was comfortable and hotel very well positioned Wifi very weak, signal dropped all the time. Disappointing late check-in time esp when you're on a short break and rooms aren't even ready then. Some staff were very helpful with the shower and wifi issues but they couldn't be resolved unfortunately

Room could have been a bit bigger, we’d booked a deluxe room and I felt it was too small and cramped to be described as such. Otherwise, all good. Enjoyed the stay very much.

This hotel was fantastic, we stayed for 4 nights for a nice long weekend away and it was perfect. The location is fantastic, right by everything! You have the old town, the beach and the new part all within 5 minute walk away. The room was fantastic with amazing views of the garden (fountains) and was super big and clean. Bathroom was very spacious. The only small thing I would say was the comfort of the bed, the pillows were quite hard and it wasn’t the comfiest of beds but was perfectly sleep able and I wouldn’t let this put you off. The breakfast buffet was also very good, lots of options especially if you are gluten free, everything is labeled. All rooms had air conditioning which you can adjust / turn off if needed. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace with a small pool and sun loungers which you can use at your pleasure and it has fantastic views of Nice. Basically this is a must if you are looking to have a great time and comfortable stay in Nice. Would definitely recommend and come here again!

We couldn’t even open the door to the balcony because the bed was in it’s way, There was only one poor lady cleaning too many rooms resulting in our room not being cleaned until 5 pm. The hotel has a great location and a stunning view from the roof top and it was great to be able to relax at the pool (unfortunately it closes at 5 pm) But the hotel has not been given any love since the early 80:s. Given pictures we saw before we booked, we were prepared that it would be a bit worn down, but didn’t expect it to be that bad and that the rooms are almost half the size as stated. The room that was supposed to be 25 m2 according to hotels.com was maximum 9 m2 plus a small bath, in total approx 16 m2 . Great location but very noisy at night. There was a music festival in the park which went on into the morning. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. The hotel is in need of a refresh but was pleasant enough.

Great location but hotel condition in general is shabby, beds were poor. Pool on roof closes at 5pm, cannot understand why. Would have been nice to use it after a day in town or at the beach. Booked a standard room which was really small with a wall for a view. Upgraded to a bigger room which was a good size but two days into our stay an extra bed arrived which reduced the space significantly. Advised it could not be removed but I would not be charged the upgrade, I was still asked for upgrade charge when booking out, person who agreed to waive charge made no note of same, eventually got it off bill.

Great location, but the hotel seriously needs a rethink! Recently stayed at Hotel Aston La Scala in Nice, and I have to say It’s been mostly disappointment wrapped in a great location. Let’s start with the basics. We were told we’d receive a room upgrade.. that didn’t happen. The room itself is ok. Clean but with a TV that looks like it was installed during the early days of plasma screens. The bed is two singles awkwardly pushed together and feels about as comfortable as a park bench. Air conditioning? More of a suggestion than a feature. The WiFi is borderline useless, constantly dropping out, making it near impossible to do anything beyond refreshing the weather app (which kindly tells you it’s 35°C outside). You’d think that might warrant a dip in the hotel pool… until you find out it’s only open from 10am to 5pm. Yes, in the middle of summer. Apparently cooling off in the early evening or before breakfast isn’t part of the plan here. The rooftop bar does offer lovely views, but the drink prices are completely unjustified! more “luxury rooftop club” pricing, less “meh hotel bar.” Credit where it’s due: the location is excellent, close to transport, the beach, and the Old Town. But sadly, the hotel doesn’t come close to matching the charm of its surroundings. A stay that promised quite a bit, but delivered just enough to make you question your booking.

Got there at 1pm room not ready. Still not ready at 3pm check-in time. Reception had "no idea" when it would be. Forced to accept different room with bath/shower and on different floor. Very disappointed. Bath/shower unusable, shower flooded the bathroom and no taps to run bath. Would have preferred a better view on higher floor. Room was comfortable and hotel very well positioned Wifi very weak, signal dropped all the time. Disappointing late check-in time esp when you're on a short break and rooms aren't even ready then. There is always no one in charge of account. That's why it takes so much time to communicate. Boss is always out of hotel. Not like hotel. I'm also dissatisfied with Expedia!!! Due to the question and repuest, they don't answer. It still takes soooo much time. Can't believe it.

Good to receive email from Hotel asking questions and requests before our stay, we asked for quiet room which we got and away from lift which we also got. Well done Hotel Aston. Great selection for breakfast catering for all needs. Room cleaned and fresh towels every day. Polite Reception staff.

Do not stay in room 617! We have stayed with 3aHotel Group for upwards of 15 years, usually at The Beau Rivage, but within the last 18 months we had noticed a drop in standards there. Being loyal to the 3a group, we thought we would try the Aston la Scala, a sister hotel. Sadly, our stay was marred by 2 occasions of leaking from exceptional torrential rain for the season. This, in itself, was not a problem, but the lack of action, communication and resolution of the issue by the hotel was very bad. The room clearly had a problem and, we believe, had suffered these issues previously, yet the hotel continue to let it. Room change was suggested, but when we asked to see a room, it went silent. Technicians came and said he would get equipment. He never came back. We refused to pack to enable the hotel to move us while out. We were not happy to do that. No one gave alternative plans. A housemaid arrived chirpy and said we were moving. No. They cleaned around the damp rug. I had to roll up and remove it myself, they clearly did not intend to. We went out as we were told technicians needed to come in and fix. When we returned it was evident no one had been in, yet we were told it had been fixed. Lying to paying guests is inexcusable. When it rained later in week, same problem occurred. Again room change was suggested, but we were due to an arranged day out, had no time to pack and were leaving the day after. We gained impression all staff knew the room was prone to the issue.

Had a very pleasant 4 night stay in the Aston. Hotel location is fantastic - minutes from the sea-front, the old town and also the main shopping areas. Hotel itself was very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Did find their rooftop Bar was very expensive though - but lots of others in the old town to sample instead! Would recommend as a great venue

This hotel was a great find. Well located only a 5 minute walk from the town and amenities. It was clean, comfortable and the staff were super friendly, especially on reception and in the restaurant for breakfast. We loved the roof top terrace although the drinks were a little pricey but all in all we would highly recommend.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. It’s close to a lot of restaurants and beach and all the major attractions. It’s also great for shopping groceries bakeries and a lot of specialty coffee shops. I will definitely book it again. I wish the gym is slightly better but other than that, it’s pretty good.
