Super 8 by Wyndham Kamloops On The Hill

Very little parking because work trucks were taking up multiple parking spots. That is the reason I did not give 5 stars.

I must say how clean the room was. White tiles and a white bathtub shower combo and it was white, very clean. The towels were plush, mini dove soap, and the little conditioner & shampoo, etc. The beds were comfortable and once our room was heated then so were we. Same old TV channels, basically nothing to watch. We only used our own cellular data so I can’t comment on the wifi. I noticed it had chrome cast. I don’t use google. There is no elevator but you can stay on the bottom floor. Although if you want to use the modest gym you’ll have to climb a small amount of stairs. Same for the continental breakfast. Which by the way is pretty good. Juice, different cereals, coffee, tea, etc. A couple of waffle irons. Lots of tables. I was disappointed that the hot tub was down for maintenance on our visit but we did go down to look. It’s quite big and looks clean down there. Shower and bathroom. But things do need maintenance every now and again. I know we’ll be staying again so I hope it’s on by then. The staff was very nice. Checking in & out. Always friendly and helpful if you need something. It could use a few take out menu’s because there aren’t a lot of restaurants near by. But we will be back because it had everything we needed.

Friendly staff when arriving and leaving. Comfortable bed, clean and quiet room. Great variety for breakfast. Free parking, easy access from highway. Great place to stay if you're travelling with a dog.

The only reason I took one star off this time is the hot tub still isn’t in working condition. Winter is the time to be in a hot tub. Other than this, everything was great. Clean, friendly staff, very accommodating. I still do think the continental breakfast is just fine.

Easy to get to from the highway, clean space, the staff were very friendly, breakfast was good. My dog could hear all the other dogs in the hallway really well so he was up early adding to the chorus, the doors aren't very sound proof. The dog area was convenient and a nice touch. I would stay here again.

Pool was closed when we were there. Close to the casino and shopping. Good enough for an overnight stay.

Small gym and basic breakfast. Everything was just a bit lower standard, including the room. Staff was friendly and helpful though and parking was easy.

This hotel is very dated needs to be renovated. We had mold in the shower and a huge spider on floor in the bathroom.

Room was spotless and staff were excellent!

I had bed bugs in my mattress which I found on the second day so had to move to a different room which had two beds so upon checkout they wanted me to pay extra for the room upgrade

The room was ok except the bathroom. There was black mold on the shower curtain and on the shower wall. I will not be staying in this hotel again.

Our suite was spacious but hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was garbage (and medication!) along the base of the bed. There was hair in the bathtub and the closet had bits of garbage on the shelves. Also, the one closet door was broken and barely hanging on. The carpet was so stained I had to leave my socks in as I didn’t want my feet touching the floor!

This property was less than ok. The carpet in the room is disgustingly dirty, the bathroom floor

Room was always hot and musty mold in shower dirty towels over priced

Air conditioner didnt Work properly so we were either too hot or too cold.

The only complaint is the TV. Not everyone has comcast. Otherwise there is no complaints.

The room was so hot, the air conditioning shuts off automatically with no movement in the room. When it finally did turn on it rattled loudly. Will not stay here again

We booked two rooms, 1 king and 1 queen. The king room was very comfortable and clean. The queen room had hard saggy mattresses.

Clean rooms, comfy beds. Hallway noise a little loud in rooms. Front desk staff very friendly.

Good budget hotel. Breakfast was a little better than muffins and coffee, with waffles and cold hard-boiled eggs. The room had a smell which my wife described as dirty feet. To me it smelled like wet carpet. It wasnt horrible but just not fresh. Bed was hood. AC was spotty, kept shutting off. Only Chromecast for TV so BYOD to watch anything. Staff was very helpful, esp Nem on night desk. It was tricky to get back on the freeway to go east toward city center. Lots of shopping and dining a short drive away but little within walking distance. Free water dispenser in the lobby to fill our water bottles was a nice touch. All in all a pleasant stay at a reasonable price.

We have stayed here a number of times. Friendly staff and always helpful. Great value.

The room was clean but the jacuzzi didn’t work although it was open. The attendant at the hotel was pleasant but I after checkout I realized that my credit card had been charged twice for the room. That was very disappointing especially because I asked to ensure that my card was charged once.

We asked for a crib and it wasn’t there when we arrived. When it was brought they didn’t bring a blanket. Never did. I registered 2 adults and 2 kids but there were only towels etc for 2. There was a long black hair in the tub and a coin was found under the edge of the bed. The breakfast room, tables, counter top and even the napkins holders are dirty. Lady attending was walking around eating toast while tidying up.

Two staff members were talking loudly in the hall outside my door at 4:57 AM, waking me up two hours before my alarm was set for. I had to open the door and ask them to shut up. Unacceptable.

Normally a good location and I’ve stayed here on many occasions. The problem? Incompetence from the manager checking me in on my most recent stay. Charged me the cost of my room for two nights plus an additional $100 for security as one lump sum. I noticed the charge immediately and addressed it, but to no avail. They reversed the whole charge of $283 and recharged my credit card in two separate transactions, which should’ve been done properly at check in. Now my card is frozen from the bank due to “possible fraud alert” and I cannot book a room for tonight. Thankyou so much Super 8 manager for screwing me around! Also, they refuse to fix their hot tub for many months now and highly inconvenience everyone by sending them to the YMCA in the downtown core a few kilometers away. My advice? Pick a different hotel to stay in. I will never go back to this hotel as this is the second time the same manager has done this.

I just want to thank the staff for going above and beyond. My husband left his wallet with cash in it and the staff arranged for the wallet to be fedexed back to us and all the cash was there. What amazing staff. It gives me faith in people again. Thank you so much.

The hotel was nice and quite and room and bathroom were well maintained. Check in was fast and friendly.

That staff, especially Vidi were amazing. She made a very stressful day sooooo much better.

The property was easy to get to, good parking, dining nearby and Costco close for cheaper fueling.

Easy access from highway. 5 minute drive to hospital.

Although decent for overnight difficult to enter as roadsdo not allow for left turns in. Even a free breakfast coyld have been better.

Hard to find. Our gps wouldn’t accept the address given on your reservation. Tried the phone no. for directions but poor connection as couldn’t hear; so finally asked strangers for guidance. Ran short of patience after driving 8 hours to get here.

Zip in and zip out off highway #1. Breakfast included, friendly staff more than cover for the slightly older building.

Out favorite place to stay in Kamloops. Walking distance to the casino and Costco.

Convenient location just off the highway. Appreciate the 11;00 AM checkout. The breakfast isn’t very good though.

Clean room, very kind staff, and a good well stocked breakfast.

So the carpets were clean and general areas clean, but, baseboards, tops of tv, doors were very dusty. The breakfast was no eggs, bacon/sausage just bread products, they had waffles, great, but a family that can’t have breads sucks and need proteins not just muffins, waffles, and toast, we ended up eating at Cora’s for the four days we stayed so breakfast that was supposed to be included, cost us an extra $280 to eat foods we could eat. And when did hotels get so expensive for a three star place $265 a night ? $1100 from Wednesday to Sunday, the same place in 2023 was $89 a night

For a 1 night stopover, it wasn't bad. But there were some strange smells in the room that would bother me for a longer stay. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Breakfast was very basic.

The breakfast was horrible. Not much to choose from, eggs are hard boiled rubber🙄. Need to update the breakfast menu to keep customers happy and coming back.

Lovely friendly staff convenient access on and off the highway. Breakfast has a good selection toast, Bagels, cereal and waffles. Costco is just down the street if you need to fill up with cheap gas Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again,

This Super 8 was ok. It’s a tad tired and worn. They were late getting breakfast out and it was carb loaded. Wasn’t great…wasn’t horrible.

Reasonably priced, good basic breakfast.

Hotel is properly located. Clean. Breakfast wasn’t good at all.
