Good value, valet was overpriced, room service charge was pretty heavy however the area and room were fantastic for what we paid. I’d go again just and just avoid the extra charges. Staff are very helpful and friendly, also bilingual.

The area is ideal to the historic old town of Montreal. It is very walkable with lots of food options all over. The hotel restaurant is very very good. The coffee in the lobby was excellent! I also enjoyed the water in the lobby with the fresh fruit.

Due to the layout you sometimes find yourself walking through events. We passed through a wedding reception, a large night time party for some business conference, a open bar reception area and one sit down business meeting. Awkward. Also no one informed us, even at check in, that the roof top terrace restaurant was closing for the season on the second night of our stay. We were planning on having dinner there more than once but on the second night of our stay the waiter informed us that is was the last night the Terrace would be open before closing for the season. Also there was no one to help with you luggage and no luggage carts in the small lobby. Its quite a walk to rooms in the fourth building and to make matters worse the single elevator was broken the first two days and we had to climb four flights of stairs to get to the room. This hotel des have an excellent location if you are planning on visiting old Montreal and the dock area, It is literally across the street from the Notre Dame Basilica and the Place d'Armes. The restaurant on the ground floor is also very nice.

They put us in building 1 where the elevator was next to the restaurant, so it’s a super busy hallway with servers passing by all the time. We were on the 2nd floor, so we heard all the noise from snow shovels and cars, which went on till late at night and started early in the morning. We asked for our room to be cleaned once during our stay and they only cleaned half of it. They made the bed and replenished the coffee pods and toiletries, but didn’t give us clean cups for some reason.

Beautiful property and a great room. The elevator was broken for most of our stay so we had to walk four flights each time, with luggage with no help offered. One day our room was not cleaned, I requested it with the front desk again before we left for dinner. Came back four hours later and still the room wasn't cleaned. There was a hug pile of dirty towels on the floor outside our room without explanation. During checkout I reported these issues to the front desk and there was no reaction.

The hotel was lovely and the superior king room was very nice. However, the air conditioning unit was so loud, I had to wear ear plugs in order to sleep. I am not a particularly light sleeper but it was outrageously loud. Windows could not be opened so I had no choice except to run the AC. The housekeeping service was a bit uneven. On check-in, there were the correct number of towels but no bathmat, so had to use one of the hand towels as a floor mat. Evening turn down service that night added a bathmat and changed the used towels. The second day, bathmat was gone again and we were short one hand towel, so had to use the remaining hand towel as a floor mat and dry our hands on face towels. It was late when we got back after dinner the second night and didn’t want to bother waiting for housekeeping to show up with towels. Also, they replaced the used caffeinated coffee pods with decaf.

great location but the suites we paid extra for with balcony, the bed was so terrible and soft. terrible sleep for the price we paid and they didnt care when we complained. like hello and change your lumpy mattress in your suites that people pay a lot of money for.

Huge room with heaps of charm. Lovely high viewings and exposed brick walls. Super comfortable bed and great big washroom and shower. Fitness room was small but very well-equipped. Outstanding location and wonderful staff. Early check in and late check out was incredibly appreciated

We were originally given an extremely small room in the old building for 3 nights. We were travelling from Australia with large suitcases & were unable to open them, however our travelling companions were given a large comfortable room for the same money. Upon speaking with the front desk & asking to be moved we were given a similar room for the 2nd & 3rd nights (Theo was wonderful & very obliging). 2nd room was clean, comfortable & spacious. Staff were friendly & the Japanese restaurant was amazing. Just disappointed we didn't receive the same room as our travelling companions originally as we paid the same money.

The food service in the rooftop bar was super slow and felt ignored most of the time. Front desk staff unhelpful and almost unfriendly given their pass keys failed all the time and needed to be replaced daily! For a Michelin recommended accommodation the rooms and especially the service was well below their standards.

Very nice large hotel room. Room was not accessible by elevator. My Disabled brother was expected to climb stairs. Once we arrived in our room we wanted to l ave but the only working elevator was broken. We were given 3 bottles of water and we were trapped on the 4th floor for hours. No food was supplied. We were not notified when the elevator eventually started to operate. I managed to climb down the 5 flights of stairs. When I got to the lobby level I had to jump over vomit that was obstructing the stairwell exit. We were offered no compensation for the inconvenience.

The bed came with a bottom sheet and a heavy duvet. I asked for a top sheet. 8 hours later, no top sheet. I called the front desk and a man came to the door with the sheet, but refused to put it on the bed. Housekeeping refused to put it on the bed. Nobody in reception or management was willing to do it. The determination not to fulfill a simple request was impressive, to say the least. I put the sheet on the bed myself, of which I was perfectly capable. That was not the point. The point is to offer some minimal level of customer service, which the entire staff resisted with great determination.

Location was great if you want to be in old Montreal. Unfortunately, there were some issues. There is major construction going on across the street from the hotel. We had a lovely room, but at 7 o’clock in the morning, the banging started. The staff kindly moved us to a sensational room in the back of the hotel however, I question whether this could’ve been avoided to begin with. The staff was very friendly however I requested a kettle/tea set be sent to the room. It took over 3 hours (and several calls) to get the just kettle. (They didn’t bring any tea or cups that could hold hot water.) There were a few other issues with service. But overall for the price and the location, we were happy with our stay.

I feel bad to say this, but it felt unsafe because of the tent city behind the hotel and that there where people in the dumpster outside our room 3505. Other than that the hotel is perfect. The staff and cleanliness was exactly what I wanted.

Very nice hotel with great staff. The rooms were comfortable. The location in Old Montreal is fantastic, close to the Basilica and a short walk to the shops and restaurants on Rue Saint Paul. The only issue was that the nightclub across the street was open until 3am and very noisy every night….made it difficult to sleep.

Hotel Place D’Armes is located in a great spot to easily access all the beauty of Old Montreal and head towards the city core. The hotel itself is beautiful - composed on multiple old buildings and has tons of character. The service is exceptional, with all staff available to help make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. This is our second stay and we’ll return any time we visit Montreal.

The hotel is located in central Old Montreal across from the Cathedral. The area has a nice European city feel. We were in a superior room: contemporary furnishings, massive shower and bathroom; excellent mattress with exceptional value compared to other (chain) hotels. Both restaurants in Place d'Armes are very good. (New) Montreal is 1-2 km away with even more restaurants and shopping areas.

Beautiful and clean rooms, very comfortable. The staff is incredible — they truly go the extra mile to make you happy. We received a warm welcome, then left for another city for three days, and when we returned to Montreal, Alejandra upgraded our room and surprised us with wine, pastries, and a birthday card for my wife. The food at their restaurant was exquisite. We’re definitely coming back and will be recommending this hotel to our friends.

Great location! Very helpful and friendly staff. The concierge staff was also very helpful. The room was very nice! I am handicapped and needed a “roll-in”shower and a shower chair. Both were provided. Old Montreal is very walkable. Wonderful area! The hotel also has 2 excellent restaurants both of which we ate at—a Japanese restaurant and a French restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Old Montreal.

Nice stay, got an upgrade to a ridiculously huge junior suite, friendly helpful staff at curb and at desk. Good bed and bedding, nice decor. Not a real issue but they still have old school sliding card access door locks that sometimes need a couple dozen passes to open… Room service food from the in house Japanese resto likely sat a while before coming up and was getting cold, but, like, first world problems I guess…
