The older gentleman who checked me in was very friendly, our room was very clean & the bed comfortable. The property itself could use a little love as it is overgrown but overall it was a peaceful & safe area.

The property was clean and comfortable but old, rundown and the outside was a mess with weeds growing, rotting wood and huge puddles in the parking lot. When we stayed there the was no TV or Internet. The interior decor was at least 30 years old.

For the money I paid I expect a bit more. The front office is only open from 3pm to 10pm, meaning that I did not see anyone when I arrived at 10.30pm, nor when I checked out in the morning. The instructions and wifi were not written down anywhere, whic wa very frustrating, I could not use a service I paid for. No ice machine. The shower was good and beds were comfortable. OVerall the room was fine, but old and not very clean.I opened one of the dawers udner the TV and saw chunks of fust that must have been there for weeks.

Such a cute place!! Quiet, comfortable room snd bed, very spacious and clean. The decor is homey, like staying in a friend's guestroom rather than a sterile hotel. Grocery store, two gas stations, several restaurants and bars, and numerous touristy tours within easy walking distance. Private, off-street parking. This was a gorgeous, cozy stay. We were only here as a one night stay but already making plans for a longer return visit.

Great family owned property in a town that's hard to find adequate lodging! Sam, the owner, is a gem and very kind and accommodating and obviously takes immense pride in his adorable mountain inn! Easy parking and homey rooms make it an easy option when traveling through Idaho Springs!

The property was dated but it was like staying in a guest room at my grandparents house. It was clean enough. There are stains here and there and some dust bunnies but nothing threw a red flag for us. The owner was great. He recently updated the TVs in the room to smart TVs and couldn’t get ours to work so he offered to let us switch rooms. We were in town Monday - Saturday. It was very quiet every evening, except Friday night but it was the 4th of July so it was expected. It’s not a fancy hotel so don’t expect fancy. It was cozy and low key. Exactly as expected.

My boyfriend and I needed a budget place to stay on a ski trip, and Columbine Inn met our expectations! Cleanliness is always on the top of our list and we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the carpets are dated and are a little worn and stained, and there were a few spots on linens, but overall, the bathroom and rest of the unit were clean and comfortable! Things were quiet during our stay, albeit one pesky branch scraping on a window, but that's an easy fix. We would be happy to visit Columbine Inn again.

First off I will say that I paid 140 a night for this property. The carpets were extremely dirty and probably 20 years old. There were some shady people staying there and it didn’t feel safe at times with people yelling outside late at night. I mean this would be like a 75 dollar a night hotel in my area. Replace the carpets, upgrade the linens, and I would say maybe 120 a night. I’d look elsewhere if I were to come back to Idaho springs

Dated, but very pleasant place to stay. Manager was very friendly. Rooms were small but clean. In the middle of the really quaint town of Idaho Springs that we wish we had more time to explore. Close to many dining options. A nice option for a place to stay outside of the hustle and bustle of Denver.

We had a lovely two-night stay at the Columbine Inn in Idaho Springs! Check-in was a breeze and the rooms were absolutely adorable—clean, cozy, and full of charm. The stay was fine. Reminded me of the 90s! Only big complaint is the deluxe suite advertises to have a hot tub in the room and it DOESNT! We were pretty much berated when we asked about it. We would have booked the cottage that does have a hot tub if we would have known but it was taken for our dates by the time we arrived.

Very nice owner. Could use some updating. For the most part was pretty clean. Did have quite a few dust bunnies hanging around the bathroom ceiling. Our AC did not work-but, it was cool enough at night to keep the room somewhat comfortable. I don’t know that I would stay there again with other options-but, for a “mom and pop” business-it was ok.

This is an older motel and the decor is outdated. The rooms are clean, spacious, quiet and the beds are comfortable. A short walk to the main downtown area. Perfect for a night or two. If you’re looking for a fancy place with all the amenties then book somewhere else but you’ll pay much more.

The dude who checked me in was really nice. He explained some of the rooms' satellite TV doesn't work well, and I said I didn't care, but then realized he'd given me no wifi password. Too late, but I had one bar from the room, so I doubt it would have worked anyways. If those things matter to you, they may be dealbreakers. Otherwise, the place was a touch on the old side, but beds were good, shower worked, things were clean, and it did the job. We just needed it for a night. Idaho Springs is charming enough too, with a nice two blocks or so of shops, plenty of restaurant options (have breakfast at Main Street Restaurant!), and nice enough views

When i asked him about it he said it was too cloudy outside for WiFi and we should go to Starbucks if we needed it. Otherwise, use a hot spot. On the plus side, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

Room was very comfy, like you are visiting your grandma. I loved that feeling. Large room with King size bed that was very comfortable, slept well. Owners are great and friendly. We stayed for 4 days exploring trails. Perfect location for us.

I was turned away after I already paid through Expedia due to me having a legitimate service dog. The owner (who also owned a dog) refused to read my dogs paper work and was very rude and unpleasant. I had to drive 1.5 hours through without conditions back to my home in Nederland. I would never stay at that motel ever again. In fact, I plan to take legal action if possible.

The owner is breaking ADA laws, I have a medical service animal that he would not allow in the room. He kept saying ‘no pets allowed’ while she is NOT a pet, and he has a dog in his own room right next to the check in office. Great family owned property in a town that's hard to find adequate lodging! Sam, the owner, is a gem and very kind and accommodating and obviously takes immense pride in his adorable mountain inn! Easy parking and homey rooms make it an easy option when traveling through Idaho Springs!

Room was very comfy, like you are visiting your grandma. I loved that feeling. Large room with King size bed that was very comfortable, slept well. Owners are great and friendly. We stayed for 4 days exploring trails. Perfect location for us.

Dated, but very pleasant place to stay. Manager was very friendly. Rooms were small but clean. In the middle of the really quaint town of Idaho Springs that we wish we had more time to explore. I will consider this place again. It provided exactly what I was looking for. I needed a place to stay after a concert at RedRocks. 20 minutes to and from. Very convenient. It was clean & comfortable. Idaho Springs is a very friendly place for locals or tourists. I love giving my money to a local family that has owned the motel for 30 years. Sam (owner) was nice and informative. The cleaning gal was nice and she is enjoying life in the Colorado mountains. She had just gone rafting the day before. Great menu at the cafe down town. Says “steak and eggs on window. North side of street. Has outside or indoor dining. Lobster Eggs Benedict several ways. Good home made gravy on a real piece of meat chicken fried.

This is an older motel and the decor is outdated. The rooms are clean, spacious, quiet and the beds are comfortable. A short walk to the main downtown area. Perfect for a night or two. If you’re looking for a fancy place with all the amenties then book somewhere else but you’ll pay much more.

The dude who checked me in was really nice. He explained some of the rooms' satellite TV doesn't work well, and I said I didn't care, but then realized he'd given me no wifi password. Too late, but I had one bar from the room, so I doubt it would have worked anyways. If those things matter to you, they may be dealbreakers. Otherwise, the place was a touch on the old side, but beds were good, shower worked, things were clean, and it did the job. We just needed it for a night. Idaho Springs is charming enough too, with a nice two blocks or so of shops, plenty of restaurant options (have breakfast at Main Street Restaurant!), and nice enough views

Such a cute place!! Quiet, comfortable room snd bed, very spacious and clean. The decor is homey, like staying in a friend's guestroom rather than a sterile hotel. Grocery store, two gas stations, several restaurants and bars, and numerous touristy tours within easy walking distance. Private, off-street parking. This was a gorgeous, cozy stay. We were only here as a one night stay but already making plans for a longer return visit.

If only the power had been on, it would have been a fine stay. We checked in at 7 pm and were told it would be back on by 9 pm, and didn't come on until maybe 9 am the next day. May not have been their fault, so don't be too hard on them. They were apologetic.
