Very restful, nice patio

a nice property although a little run down. pretty little, park-like area as back of property with aspens and the river running through it. rooms had charming decor. air cond./heater worked well. large, gravel parking lot. counter staff very helpful. good location in idaho springs

The property needs some work, sadly the pool and the outside fireplace were not in working order, but the riverside view from the balcony and sitting in the chairs is amazing!

This is a gem. Sliding window/door, walk out to a great view of a small river. Chairs are set up on a small patio for a comfortable view of the river. Easy walk way down to the river where more chairs are set up for a relaxing time. The room could use a little renovations. The wall paper was peeling.

The rooms have a balcony overlooking a bubbling stream. Room was comfortable and well maintained.

We had a very good stay at the Argo Inn. First, they have a very large parking lot where we could leave our trailer (and zoom around town without). The room was large and clean, and the King size was very comfortable. We had a room overlooking the river which was very nice. The front desk had tons of tips for local sights and restaurants. All in all a very good stay.

Rooms need some work but the river side rooms with a patio or deck are pretty awesome as far as the water goes. Still building & rooms need upgrades but it’s the location. Would definitely stay again

Having river access right next to the hotel is an excellent feature.

Convenient right off freeway, Cute Old fashioned Inn with River view Balcony off the back. Beds very comfortable. LCD TV, no smart apps, just basic cable channels. Shampoo, conditioner containers were empty, not filled by Housekeeping! Water pressure low in shower. But, other than that, cute old fashioned Inn close to I-70.

It was ok. Shower curtain had mold. Tried to use the propane fireplace, but it hadn’t been cleaned in a while and the smell of burning dust was pretty bad. One of the sliding doors was off its tracks. There was nothing seriously wrong, the whole place just needs a good cleaning and some minor repairs

I’m surprised at all the good reviews. Our room was musty, smelled like old cigarettes. The cobwebs were gross. Chunks out of the wall. The door lock was not ever put in correctly so we can’t lock the door. Under the chair loos like it hadn’t been cleaned for years. I guess only smokers stay there because the only amenities was places to smoke outside. The river is pretty but it’s a small portion of this old dirty property. Will never bring my family again. Spend the extra $10 and stay somewhere cleaner.

The hotel was immaculate in cleanliness. Great location with a view of a swift running creek as a view out the back deck. Check in was efficient and easy, The hotel is within walking distance of several nice restaurants,. A great inexpensive stay.

The rooms are dated but clean with comfortable mattresses. The patio overlooking the river is a nice place to unwind after a long day driving. It was a good stay.

Clean room, comfy bed, friendly staff

Room was alright but not very clean. Could use quite a bit of updating. You could clearly tell the rooms are not cleaned very often, there were old cobwebs and a lot of dirt along the edges of the walls and around the furniture. Had a couple big spiders that we found in the room

Clean and comfortable

Sheets were wonderfully clean but every thing else was stained, carpet tacks coming thru floor and ceiling and bathroom had mold growing. Beautiful view of Clear Creek tho.

Great location in town, rooms were a little rundown but clean. Great little balconies with the river rushing by.

Great little small town inn. Room was clean, comfy and roomy. The best part was having a balcony right on the river. Definitely get a river facing room if you’re staying. We were able to walk to the Main Street which was about 15 mins. Could not hear any outside noise (unless you open the balcony door to listen to the water rushing by). We would definitely stay here again.

The room was large and roomy. We had a balcony view of Clear Creek and it was gorgeous!

Room was on the river. Door would not open to sit on balcony. Bummer, but not the end of the world. Stayed there twice. in one week. Stayed in 4 other hotels on the same trip. Never got the Wi-Fi to work at the Argo. The 4 other properties it worked fine. Go figure. It is convenient to I-70 and a straight shot to the airport. For that reason I would book it again.

The view was amazing, river behind the property was the best part… didn’t sleep a wink, beds are hard pillows are thin and very uncomfortable

Spacious room

The hotel is older and shows it but only cosmetic. The balcony had a view of the river which was nice. The AC unit was very old and if used was very loud and didn’t work well. Overall the location was great.

This is a case of never judging a book by it's cover. It doesn't look like much when you pull in ir even when you first go into the room. It was clean but stepping outside is magical. Clear Creek is right behind the hotel. We had a small balcony and could watch rafters and canoes going down the creek. We loved it. Then there is a screen door out to the balcony, so we had the sound of the creek the whole time. The beds are SO CONFORTABLE. All of us slept well, which rarely happens when sleeping in hotels. The shower has great water pressure and gets HOT. There is a small convience store right in front of the hotel that makes quick runs easy. It is in the middle of town and getting places was easy. I would highly recommend staying here and try to get a second floor creek view.

Great location but staff was not friendly or helpful! Room needs some repairs/updates as sliding glass door to deck was jammed and couldn’t be opened. Room was clean and appreciated microwave and fridge.

Good location and right on the river. For the price, I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the room. The bathroom, especially, looked straight out of the 80s. Aside from that, the toilet was not clean and needed repairs as did the shower. For the price I paid, this is terrible. On another note, I tried to cancel the last two days of my stay. When I asked the clerk he said that he couldn't do anything and I would have to come back the next morning. When I returned, that person said I could only get a refund for 1 day as it was now less than 24hrs notice. When I explained that I did come the previous day to request this cancelation, he said he couldn't doo anything about that and it shouldn't have happened. Just terrible customer service without any car for the customer at all. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone I know.

I always stay at the Argo when I’m in Idaho Springs. My room had a noisy bathroom fan and the office changed the room immediately. The mattress was new and very comfortable. It is quiet here. I will return.

Irät was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. They made me stand in front of the door for a long time in cold, and when I called them he said i still need to get up and get dressed. Then he hung up on me. Terrible front desk service

Easiest check-in ever and the best value hotel we have ever stayed in. The porch and river were unexpected and beautiful. Excellent price for these amenities!

Late one night there was a knock at the door of the room I was staying in with my daughter (2 females). I ignored first knock but then came a second louder knocking. I asked who it was and a voice said”police, did you call?” Apparently, a guest had called police due to a domestic dispute and they mistakenly went to wrong door. The next night at midnight 2 men opened our door and were trying to get in. The only reason they didn’t get in all the way is that we had the inside latch engaged. The front desk said that the men went to the wrong room and were able to open the door because we had not locked it with the card key. ?? They say the only way to lock door is to press key card to door so red light comes on before you enter your room and that all their guests know this and so that is why they didn’t tell us about it at check in. The only problem with this system is that it doesn’t work as my son locked himself out of the room without putting key card to door for a red light. After experimenting with our key cards, the best I can figure is either a) the front desk gave the 2 men checking in my room key or b) sometimes the door locks by itself and sometimes it doesn’t. We had 2 nights sleep disturbed. Also, mold on bathroom ceiling.

Front desk staff Chase was very helpful with directions overall. I appreciated his dry wit also. I will visit again if given a chance. Stream view was icing on the cake. Thank Chase!

Clean room, comfy bed, friendly staff

Everything was great until my trip got cut short. Since I wasn’t able to give 24 hours notice, they would not refund the night that I didn’t stay. They did, however, offer a discount (did not say how much) for my next stay. I did ask for a credit which they would not offer. All that being said, I would def stay again. It’s a fair price, great location and nice property

The things that really matter were excellent…… nice bed with very soft linens, nice towels………excellent staff and very friendly !!

Nice view of the river from our balcony. The beds were comfortable. The ice machine worked great. However, the rooms need updating and the room prices are a little high for what you get. But, overall it was a good stay and a nice walk to downtown.

Great location off I-70. Close to ski resorts and many restaurants walking distance from hotel. Great view of river and has a patio. Room has refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine. Easy to back in with vehicle and load up ski gear.

Great location - located in the middle of town and everything is walkable. Staff were very nice! Also has a river that runs behind the property. Overall stay was great. The hotel is old and dated. But it’s a great place for the money!

Loved being on the river and seeing the boats go by, it inspired us to float also which was a blast. Quiet at night, great for walking around town. Safeway close by and many restaurants.

There are lots of dining options nearby in addition to a grocery store and gas stations. It is in a quiet location and the rear views are nice with a stream and mountain side. Staff were friendly and check in and out were seamless and easy with no problems. I even had an booking/change issue had had to talk to staff on the phone and they were very friendly and accomodating.

Great updated room with nice amenities- microwave, refrig, keurig and hair dryer. Room had small balcony overlooking a mountain stream. Fell asleep to the rushing water. Great white noise. They had juice abd coffee in lobby in the morning.

our stay was enjoyable, our room was creekside and it was wonderful to open the sliding door and hear the see and hear the creek as we sat at the patio. wish we could have stayed longer. the bed was comfortable. we would go back and stay there again. it would have been nice to have coffee in the room

We rented four rooms and we’re completely satisfied. There is no breakfast except for coffee and juice, which is OK for us, but might not be for others. Plus there’s no phone in the room. But everyone has a cell phone these days. Quiet and comfortable.

i would stay here again it was not modern and doesn’t offer breakfast but it was clean and comfortable. the creek side outdoor seating is a big plus! and the price is better than any in blackhawk area

Only one complaint: had in room coffee maker, but only ONE single coffee pod (there were others but who wants decaf?). They said we could get more but when we went to get more, the office was locked. Otherwise good value. Nice view of Clear Creek.

Good hotel on the way to Aspen! It has limited amenities near by so it’s hard to get food after 10PM!
