The front desk staff was kind, but as soon as we trued to enter the building our ket card didn't work only to realuze the outside door was broken and anyone could enter. The hallways smelled of stale smoke and marijuana. The cover blankets were stained and not sure if they were actually clean. We left shortly after arrival. Very sad because i had stayed there years ago after the renovations and it used to be a very nice place. That has changed. 😞

It does not have its own driveway you had to drive through a restaurant parking lot to get there. Plus we have problems with our key cards.some of the doors are not working so we had to walk around to a door that was working. And sometimes our key card wouldn't even work in that door and I had to go all the way around to the main office to get in.

Well-maintained room, newly refurbished. There is an excellent restaurant for breakfast and lunch to the south of the parking lot, a gas station across the alley, a liquor store across the street and several bars serving food within sober walking distance. There isn’t a sign for the Motel 6 on 27th—I entered the property through the gas station lot. Neighborhood is non-threatening.

The security door did not work at all. You could just pull it open the second security door the lock was drilled out . It’s supposed to be a non-smoking building however you smell nothing but cigarette smoke inside. There’s junkies all over the place. Your vehicles are not safe. There are signs everywhere that tell you that there’s a sticker on the door of the inside of your hotel room that says lock for your own protection. It’s the only hotel in the country that I’ve stayed in that said that . I made sure there was a round loaded in my handgun in case of emergency. The rooms were clean just getting to that point is sketchy at best especially if you come in at night.

The hotel was overall not very cleanly and in rough shape. We lost power within the half hour of being checked in and didn't get power back until bedtime. Customer service at the front desk was helpful. Our room door barely latched as it had previously been pried open so it did not feel safe at all. We checked out the next morning and couldn't get out of the room as the door door handle wouldn't work. With some work, the handle did finally allow the door to open. We will not be returning to this hotel.

Unfortunately, my family and I didn’t like this place. There’s a lot of tobacco smells everywhere and the room my family and I got was dirty, had dirty sheets and an unclean bathroom. We then got switched to a different room which was less dirty but still dirty. There was also a dog in the next room that kept barking all night. I wish there could’ve been separate rooms situated. I am hoping to get a refund on this. I’m sorry but I will not recommend this place to anyone and will not come back. The lady at the front desk was nice and she looked drained lol I wonder why..

The room was recently innovated. While there were still remnants of the old, dated layout and amenities such as non-functional light fixtures, the room is spacious, clean, dark, comfortable, and generally pleasant. There were evidence of honest attempts in housekeeping. Unfortunately, there were still small areas where attentions were needed (such as small sections of the shower grout and panel gaps).

Mold in the shower in a crevice between the shower wall and tub basin. VERY loud with the upstairs neighbor pacing and stopping all night, so much so that I had to go to the front desk at 2:30 a.m. and ring a cowbell to get the night clerk's attention. I told him what was going on and he said he would go tell them to be quiet. I think he did, because the guy sat down for about ten minutes and then began stomping around again. The room smelled terribly as well, like a musty smell. When we got there, the bathroom light and fan were on. We left them on the entire stay. The TV Dish cable barely worked at all. It lagged horribly. I put a soda in the fridge and it froze solid. And last, but not least, you could feel the spring coils in the bed!!!! The man at the desk was helpful, but the overall experience was unfortunately quiet terrible.

Price was right, room seemed clean but hallways and stair carpeting filthy. Towels threadbare. Liked the fridge with a freezer and microwave. The bed was clean and furniture decent. Needs a couch or something to sit on rather than two hard plastic chairs.

The parking lot is sketchy and the hotel room smelled like mildew, the bathroom shower curtain was full of mildew and the bath tub had mold all around it. The towels had stains same with the blankets. The hand towels were not clean. The window curtain had soda or something splattered all over them. And the security doors didn’t lock.

Sheets on the bed were dirty. Had to request clean sheets which they brought. The sink was clogged so wouldn’t drain. No Kleenex provided. It is located next to a good restaurant which was nice. Also place smelled like smoke even though it is smoke free. Mattresses very warm out.

Check in Washington smooth. Arrived at our room and the toilet seat was warm with the fan running, obviously someone had just used it... Went to use the bathtub and had to wash dried blood out first. Have stayed here many times for a quick cheap sleep, this trip was something else

Due to last minute change of plans I had to book 2 different reservations. The first night was in a 2 double bed room. The room was clean. But the bedspreads on both beds were stained. Which doesn’t mean they are dirty, but it did creep me out. The beds were very soft and caved in the middle. The second night we stayed in a queen room and that room had a stain free bedspread and the bed was a lot more comfortable. I think that they have renovated recently and are probably doing it in phases. The hotel staff were the most friendly and helpful of any hotel I’ve stayed at. They were funny, and helpful and did more than what they needed to do.

We came to Duluth for the Tall Ships Festival. Very friendly and fast check in. We were in a smoking room, which we asked for and found it to be clean and no issues of lingering smoke from previous guests. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room, but no coffee maker. Coffee was available in the lobby. The beds were very uncomfortable to us- the main reason for my rating. The motel is older and located above 3 miles from the convention center/downtown. There is a restaurant and gas stations next to the motel, as well as easy access to the highway. Overall it was adequate for our needs and affordable.

For what we needed it for, this hotel worked fine. We went to Duluth for 3 nights as a couples getaway. The only complaints we have are that the curtains let a lot of light in, especially the windows right by the parking lot lights. Constantly looked like it was early evening all night long. Only sink is outside the bathroom so you have to open a door, after using the toilet, to wash your hands. The pillows were super soft, to the point that when you lay your head on 1, you sink to the mattress. I went to the front desk for another pillow and they didn't have extra. The location was great! 2 super awesome restaurants in virtually the same parkling lot, 2 gas stations on same block and liquor store across the street. Easy 10 minute drive to Canal Park.

the mattress should be upgraded. A 6” mattress on top of a hard wood base isn’t adequate. might as well as tossed a blanket on the floor. other motel 6 locations we’ve stayed at had at least a 9” or 12” thick mattress.

Very basic. Get what you pay for. Exterior is in rough shape and no elevator. Rooms are nicely updated but every towel had a mark on it. Comfy bed. Decent heat, but kicked back and forth between blowing cool and warm air. Bummed they didn’t have simple amenities like a fork. Many bedroom doors had gaps and could see light through- I had the last room next to an exit and clear cold air came right in with a half to 3/4 inch space at bottom of door.

Fit all the basic needs. No hair dryer or facial tissue however. Ask for a room towards the front so you don't have the freeway noise. Good restaurants close by. Staff is the best asset of this property. I would stay there again.

The room was large. Location was okay because we had a car. Things we didnt like: Television and wifi were intermittent. Wifi was hard to connect too then after a few minutes it would disconnect and wouldnt even come up on our list of networks. As we are travelling we were relying on internet access. Sheets were frustrating as fitted sheet kept slipping off as too small for the bed. Black grout along bottom of shower ? Mold which required us wearing thongs on our feet when showering. Vinyl floor dirty which we didnt realise until getting into bed and noticing our dirty soles.

This property has seen way better days. This wasn’t our first stay here, but unfortunately it is our last. The mattress was so bad you could feel and hear every spring move. The pillows were flat and hard as rocks. The walls were so thin we could hear staff slamming doors in the floor below us and talking loudly in the hall.

The staff are so good. They even call our room to make sure everything is good. We are in our 80s and they aways help us. Iits so clean too. We go aboy 6 times a year to Drs and we stay at the 6. Best 5 🌟

I was nervous about staying here because we had a bad experience at a Motel 6 in Oklahoma. The Motel 6 in Duluth is an older building, but it was very clean and we even had a refrigerator and microwave.

The person behind the desk was so rude and ignored. Not only someone who's waiting for information sitting there in the lobby before I got there. But for me, he didn't even look up and acknowledge, I was even standing at the counter for at least 10 minutes. All he was doing was working on paperwork and shuffling it. It wasn't until a young lady came behind the counter. Till he even bothered to acknowledge, I was there. And to hand me my room key. The way I see it is that if you're going to go here and you will see for yourself. If that man is still there, just find a way to turn around and walk out. Because he didn't give information anyone. And he was just rude.

There are lots of good breweries and little restaurants within walking distance, located right off one of the main highways into Duluth so it was super easy to locate. There was also a nearby gas station that was convenient for snacks and gas!

We star here every year and have always have satisfied with our stay. There is a Keik trip, restarant, and liquor store literally a few feet away. Not a pretty area for taking a walk though. It is very close to the interstate which we like.

This hotel is in an interesting area, Walking distance to a bunch of tap rooms and great eating. Hotel is a little older, (My room was remodeled in the last 12 months) I felt 100% safe, but are is a 'struggling' area of downtown.

This is a good budget motel. my go-to when coming up to duluth. always have the best prices. Make sure you check if you are booking the room with a fridge/microwave or not, if thats important to you, because its an upgrade you have to select when booking. Parking is open. gas station, restaurant and fast-food right next to it. I appreciate the little coffee stand in the morning too👍

A great place to stay if you are looking for a simple place to sleep and shower. The affordable prices to stay the night and amazing breakfast at the Duluth grill next door makes this a favorite place to stay. Staff is friendly and the place is pet friendly.
