The location was perfect. We had easy access to the metro right out the front door, and plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The breakfast and service in the morning was excellent. In contrast, while the bed was comfortable, the room was lacking. There were no bedside tables, an outlet on only one side of the bed, a worn and weathered luggage rack with chipped paint, and a flashlight of sorts that fell apart upon reaching for it. Rooms could really use an upgrade.

We had a great stay and would certainly stay again. One evening we were told the bar was full, we had visited the bar each night after dinner and shopping, but there were definitely seats available. It was a bizarre experience, as if they were reservations no one showed up.for them, and then we had to buy to takeaway drinks. Not what you expect in that type of hotel. That was the only poor service we experienced. Breakfast was excellent as was the service at breakfast. We stayed for quite a long time, so next time we would probably consider staying less time or splitting hotels, in case we encounter similar issues, like happened at the bar

Stayed 3 nights

Our room was large and very comfortable, with a small round table, chairs and a sofa, a far cry From the crampef rooms we had heard about in Tokyo. The location is excellent, near high-end shopping as well as alleys crowded with restaurants. The staff is always helpful, and breakfast is a bountiful buffet. We liked everything about the Gate Hotel!
