Sleep Inn Morganton Southeast

Air conditioning was out in the lobby and halls. Room air working fine. Dated property but I would stay again.

I typically stay at another motel in the area but checked their prices and they are 3 times Sleep Inn\'s. This review is based on the price paid and what is included. This Sleep Inn is not new and some areas show their age. However, the room was comfortable, the bathroom / shower area has been remodeled, bed linens are good quality and new, internet is fast, housekeeping personnel are friendly and keep clean towels in the room. Shower was small and would be very difficult for a large or plus size to use. Also, the shower door opens in. This and the small size would make getting someone out if they had a medical issue and were on the floor. The shower floor slopes towards the drain too much and feels like one is standing on a hillside. One more issue is anti-slip ridges in the shower floor are about 2" apart and 1/2" tall. They hurt my feet. Bring flip flops to use in the shower. Things that need to be updated are carpet in the room and halls, breakfast is very limited, AC unit cooled great but it is somewhat noisy which is what I have seen in many economy motels. Saw a couple gnats. Overall I was pleased with the room and service and would recommend for one person or a couple. No pool or activities for children other than TV.

The room was good. The AC was not working in the Lobby or Corridors. The Lobby and Public spaces need major attention (updating and/or repairs.

This was servicable, but by no means nice. Very run down. Room was clean except there was horrible mold in shower and when I got ice tons of flecks of black mold came out with the ice. Security doors were broken so anyone could walk in. Television choices were not very good. I would not return again.

Looks sketchy around the property. The interior of the hotel (while it looks to be under renovations) looks aged the carpet is stained and very dirty. The room itself was okay. Ultimately you get what you pay for!

The hotel was under construction so the lobby was extremely hot with no air. We arrived about 10:30 and had reservations but the man at the desk was in a bad mood and said things that were negative/out of place. The room's air conditioner was not on at all after a 100 degree day and it never really got comfortable during the night and in the morning when the sun came up it was not pleasant. Some lights didn't work. All of the fixtures including toilet and shower were turning yellow and stained from age. The worst part was the toilet that took at least 3 flushes to work properly. We will look elsewhere next time.

Property is under new management and the old owners ran it into the ground. Looking forward to all the improvements

The strong smell of the cleaning agent was still present in the room when we checked in. It was overwhelming. I appreciate the desire to show the room was clean, but it was beyond what was comfortable

Clean and quiet.

The breakfast could have been better (weak coffee, Gatorade instead of juice) and I noticed a couple of small roaches in my room. It was the least expensive place in the area that I could find and now I know why.

We we pleasantly surprised at this spot in Morganton! We were in town for my daughter's wedding. The owner was so nice and hospitable! The hotel was being updated but our room was spotless and the bed was awesome! Would recommend to any traveler!

Room had cockroaches, the carpet was stained, and it smelled liked it was smoked in. Did not stay. Would not recommend this hotel.

The location had us do a total of 60 minutes of additional driving this weekend, but the price and room was worth it.I used an UV light and the room was immaculate! The staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast was decent. The fresh waffles were king. I would like to see some jam and/or cream cheese for the bagels. The high def smart TV with Amazon was appreciated as well. Highly recommend this place.

The overall stay was good. It was quit and peaceful. the building was obviously not new, but it was kept up well. The sliding door to the bathroom didn't have an operating lock, but that isn't a huge issue. My biggest concern was the mattress seemed to be pretty old because the middle sagged badly. Not a deal breaker just a little tough on my 65 year old back. I would stay here again if I were in Morganton again.

For a one night stay at a decent price, the Sleep Inn was a good choice. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and it looks like new furnishings were installed fairly recent. However, it is an older hotel and the walls are thin. You will hear all the noises from the hallway and adjoining rooms. We were on the 1st floor and you could also hear all the footsteps up above on the 2nd floor. Once everyone settled in for the night, the noise wasn’t an issue for us. I would recommend adding some hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes on while showering or changing. We would certainly stay there again if we needed a place to stay in Morganton for a night.

For a Sleep Inn I expected better! It is run down and the bathroom is so small you could use the toilet and shower at the same time. It’s like they just stuck a shower and toilet in a small closet, the curtains was in terrible shape.

Business trip. Clean and good beds

Very good budget hotel, I stayed a week in their 2 double bed room and had no problems. I was honestly surprised how decent it was for the money. I did hear the workers talking down the hall once in awhile at night but it was mostly quite which was great because I am a light sleeper and could tell the walls are thin. The beds were comfortable and I was able to sleep well and waking up to free decent breakfast (waffles & good coffee) was a plus. Only con was that their WIFI was down the whole time I was there but this wasn't a problem for me at all. Over all I'd stay here again

The mattress are bad I switched rooms two times those mattress are real old and warned out

A little smaller than I'm use to and the bed was so uncomfortable. I also didn't know about a 100 deposit to stay. High end hotels don't charge that much.

When I first got there, there was NO One at the front desk. The cleaning lady had to go look for someone. Very disappointed in the room especially the bed. Sleeping on that Very Cheap mattress caused me to have back pain and I had to sleep in the chair at the desk which was better. I WON'T be staying at this place again.

The place was clean the issues we had was : 1. They had a $200 cash deposit required that i was not told about until late that night when i tried to check in. They had no atm there so we had to go back out late to get the cash. 2. When we checked in the lady was very rude about my children. Before i even had a chance to call down my child she threatened to kick us out. She didnt have to act the way she did. I will not be staying here again. I am a paying customer and deserve the same respect as any other person. Especially having my children at the hotel with me at Christmas. Very rude.

Really enjoyed my stay at this Sleep Inn! Customer service at the front desk was excellent! Room was nice and clean. Highly recommend this property to those looking to save money and stay in a nice motel! :) Very nice area too!

The STAFF WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING IS Why i rated this property highly. The Ladies that checked us into our room! Absolutely professional & customer service is on point! The cleaning staff! AMAZING LATIN WOMEN! However, the property could use a little renovation. But! Still good, ill stay there again.

It was awful!! Took all night for the room to cool off after the had put us in another room because the first one wasn’t cooling. The lady at the front desk was very rude! Wouldn’t ever stay again!!!

I have stayed here twice in two different rooms and both were very nice, clean and comfortable. Rooms have microwaves and mini-fridges. The location is great also, very close to several nice , affordable restaurants, a gas station and the interstate so you can stay in one place, walk to a restaurant, fill up and get on your way.

Cordiality of front desk staff. Easy access from I-40.

I was looking for a cheap place to stay for the night, and wow was I impressed! The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. The was a giant smart TV with an endless supply of movies, shows, and live streams to watch. The continental breakfast had a waffle maker! The room was quite a steal given how nice it was and the complimentary breakfast. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely stay here again.
