I found the hotel in 2022 walking by and was interested in staying. I was happy to get a reservation the area is called Colonia Americana Guadalajara. I like the neighborhood.So the hotel is very interesting looking. The staff is very friendly and helpful .The restaurant I think serves very good food . It also has a mini gym and a sun area with pool .I was happy to stay there . I hope to be back there this December 2024

The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was nice and the location was great. The room wasn't very soundproof and you could see through the gaps around the door. I could hear people talking and music from neighouring room. No coffee or free drinking water in the room and the restaurant wasnt open when I had to check out by 8am. TV wasnt working correctly and after 2 visits from maintenance I told them to forget about it. No bar service by the pool on the 4th floor and overall the hotel lacked atmosphere, although the staff were friendly enough. The art gallery theme was kind of cool but lack of people or services made it feel quite empty.

I ended up in a lovely room that was everything I wanted for my birthday celebration. The decor, service, and amenities were just what I expected: artsy, minimal, and each room uniquely curated. Beds were very comfy, no issues with the wifi, and all of the food and drink items we tried were fresh and well-prepared from breakfast in the lobby-adjacent restaurant to small bites delivered to the pool. Location was great, easy to navigate, and central to so many things we wanted to do in Guadalajara.

Tenía muchas ganas de quedarme ahí desde hace tiempo. Pero me pareció que le hace falta mucho mantenimiento en áreas comunes; techos con humedad, gimnasio con aparatos viejos y mal funcionamiento, no servía el vapor, ni el sauna. El AA no servía adecuadamente, las cortinas estaban mal instaladas lo que hacía que entrada el sol muy temprano; no ofrecen pantuflas, o batas de baño; es decir las cortesías en el cuarto muy pobres. This hotel needs updating. The lighting is terrible in the rooms. I had to sit on the floor in front of a window to put on my makeup. The robes provided have holes and are torn. The shower tiles are broken. The bathtub plumbing leaks and the carpets are dirty. The stairs are only for emergencies and are a disaster. They have supplies and trash stored on the landings of each floor and do not have handrails. I\'m glad we did not have to get out quickly. Angel, the bellman is Wonderful! He was the best part of the stay. He was so welcoming and accommodating. The food and drinks are very good as well. The bar / restaurant staff was also very helpful. While at the airport waiting for my flight, I spoke to another traveler who stayed here and unsolicited, he said "this is an older hotel that sorely needs updating". Guess I am not the only one who feels this way.

Conocí el hotel hace 10 años y era excelente, ahora que fui las instalaciones tienen 10 años sin mantenimiento, la limpieza era terrible encontramos unos preservativos en el cuarto al llegar, la puerta del baño no cerraba, el aire acondicionado no podía graduarse, y entonces era siempre demasiado frío, el extractor de olores será insuficiente, los sillones que habían en el cuarto estaban vencidos, y en general se notaba que hacía mucho tiempo que no daban mantenimiento adecuado a las instalaciones, el personal no era muy amable.

No me agrado porque no vale pagar tan caro para los pocos servicios que tiene, las habitaciones son viejas, sucias, mal distribuidas, falta de mantenimiento, no ofrecen cafetera, no tiene pistola de cabello, pedí plancha y burro y me llevaron algo descompuesto y viejo, el lavabo mal puesto, la regadera percudida, se sale el agua hacia la habitación, pisos solo pintados, sin mosaicos o piso de madera, el wtc sin ventilación, almohadas incómodas, alberca con agua fría y percudida, falta deantenimiento, sombrillas viejas y el personal nada amables. No lo recomiendo y nunca volvería.

The hotel is in an excellent location, just a couple of blocks from Ave Chapultepec, where many restaurants, bars, and convenience stores are located. The staff was very accommodating, speaking enough English to have a decent conversation. Our room was nice and spacious, overlooking the street. Our bed was comfortable; however, it had a noticeable dip in it. The shower had an extremely slow drain, to the point where water flowed into the area where the sinks are located. We told the front desk, and someone was supposedly sent up to fix it, but it continued to happen throughout our stay. Also, one of the sinks never got hot water. I saw some people complain about their room not having enough outlets, but that was not an issue in our room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but some of the issues we had left more to be desired.

It’s a very chic, artsy hotel but dated. My room was awkwardly designed having to step and down to get out of bed or use the bathroom. Lighting was very low in crucial places like the vanity and mirror. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They were the best part of the trip. Also this was a VIP hotel and got nothing for Expedia gold.

We complained numerous times that our room was too cold…we had to wear jackets in our room! Staff promised to address this issue and never did. We also requested housekeeping to clean our room and it only happened one of the days we were staying there. I would not recommend this hotel.

What a wonderful hotel. I was upgraded to a very luxurious master suite and the swankiest bathtub I’ve ever seen. This is my second time here and I travel frequently for work and will certainly continue to stay at Hotel Demetria. Ate at the restaurant again and the staff remembered me even though it had been 3 months. Excellent meal. Excellent service. Great drink options. Really a lovely place to stay.

Very nice hotel. Clean…good for a night stay. I prefer neighborhoods that have more vibe. Check in was not fun, which put me in a frustrated mood. After 2 inactive door keys when checking in, asked for a different room as I wasn’t in the mood to lug my luggage for a 3rd time up and down elevator to front desk…they wouldn’t do it…however, a maintenance person was on it once I went up a 3rd trip with my luggage …next time, change the room for the guest and fix the door on your own time.

Everything was pretty amazing in this gallery/hotel. The chef of the restaurant was excellent. Every dish we ordered was delicious and beautiful. You have to be vigilant about the pricing of drinks though. A few times we were charged much more than it said on the English menu. They didn’t charge more for room service which was a benefit. Luckily we could ask for hot water for tea and they would bring it up to the room. We brought our own tea bags. I don’t think tea is a thing in these parts of Mexico.

This was a great stay. The location is fantastic for walking to dining and shopping and the service was super, especially in the restaurant and bar. The food is always prepared fresh, recipes are originally presented yet classic and served promptly. My only complaint is there is no coffee available in the morning anywhere before the restaurant opens, but there’s a 7-11 across the street that’s easy enough. Great stay thanks!
