Beautiful hotel with great pool and jacuzzi amazing views of the lake. Cute private beach area and dock to jump in the water. Amazing brunch on Sundays. 10/10 loved it here!!

The property is located in a remote area away from the town and the public dock. I feel safe being on the property. The property features a beautiful garden, pool, and jacuzzi with stunning views. The property offers relaxing massages for a fee and has a good restaurant and a bar. However, it costs money to shuttle out every day and when we asked the boat to drop off at the hotel dock, they charged us $22/ docking.

Beautiful grounds with well kept gardens, aviaries, pool and millenium jacuzzi , own dock for transport around the lake. Nice souvenirs store, staff very professional and customer-focused.

Beautiful hotel with tranquil gardens. Heated pool and jacuzzi were both immaculately maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Sunday breakfast buffet had a huge variety of both local and international cuisine. The buffet in the week was still quite large and everything we had was delicious. There is a beautiful bar with great cocktails and friendly staff. After staying at mutiple different hotels in the area this is far and away our favorite.

Infinity pool, all bilingual staff, EXCELLENT bartending and food paired with a beautiful seeing. It is a gem. It is a resort, so if you are used to Guatemala prices, you may be in for a shock, but I think it was work every penny.

Beautiful property and resort. Food and drinks were very good. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Lacking a fitness gym and shuttle to the town. Without the shuttle you have 1 tuk-tuk for the entire hotel guests, or you can walk on a very, very, rugged and hard to walk road, up a steep hill, and down a very steep hill with traffic and no shoulder for safety. Hot tub and pool were very nice as well. Overall one of the best places in town to stay. Pool/restaurant noise is a concern that kept us up all night until 230am with base that could be heard into the room with a noise machine and ear plugs.

The grounds and landscaping at the property are just stunning as well as the vistas of Lake Atitlan. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay.

El Hotel es muy bonito, con preciosos jardines, pero algunos ambientes estaban sucios ( baños y cambiadores de pisicina), poco personal aparentemente.

The hotel has a panoramic view to Lake Atitlan - excellent. It has an extremely beautiful garden all around with rare plants and trees. We enjoyed it so much. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The wash basin hot faucet needs some repairs. Overall a very enjoyable hotel.

Beautiful place, super clean and the food at the restaurant was amazing. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Notamos que al turismo internacional le dan una mejor atención que al turismo local, en especial a la hora de la cena. Asimismo, observamos que muchos turistas que se hospedaban en el hotel, tenían dificultad en comunicarse con el personal, ya que no les entendían y los dejaban abandonados hasta que llegara otro compañero. Por otro lado, la limpieza de las habitaciones puede mejorar, ya que las toallas estaban con manchas y daban una apariencia a que estaban sucias.

The rooms are outdated, the showers show signs of mold, and the front desk staff lacked warmth and hospitality. However the view of the lake from this property is priceless …

Hôtel Atitlan is a treasure! Beautiful, immaculate, peaceful, low key with an excellent staff. If you love gardens you will be in paradise! Also the views are gorgeous. The pool and infinity spa are stunning!

The people who work here are awesome. The grounds are amazing - like a botanical garden - and the pool area is really great for families and relaxing parents. The rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable.

This hotel was beautiful and affordable to stay at. We couldn’t believe the size of our room and the green space just outside our door, complete with a living room and patio. The pool overlooking the lake was lovely, the staff were accommodating and willing to help with any requests, or even would jump in to help carry belongings if they saw you carrying your own bags without being asked. There are a lot of Christian statues around which was odd but overall everything was beautiful, the grounds were well taken care of, there were parrots in the gardens, and I would recommend staying here for a more upscale night on Lake Atitlan.

Let’s start with the positive: Beautiful hotel Great location. Not near the town, but very easy to get to Fantastic views Decent customer service (more about this below) Gardens are astonishing The negative: WiFi is very poor. In your room, forget it. We didn’t appreciate the caged birds in the property. In one case, they have 3 big parrots in a “small” cage. Now, this one bothered us. We had dinner at the restaurant and ordered 3 dishes. 2 of them were fantastic. The third one was octopus. I got to say, this dish was horrible to the point that we can say the octopus had been in the fridge a bit longer than it should’ve. But it may have been spoiled. We told this to the waiter and he took it back but came back to tell us that the people in the kitchen said the flavor was fine. It wasn’t! We eat octopus often and one was bad. To make a long story short, we paid for it and even gave the waiter a tip (he had remove the tip from the check and we told him it wasn’t his fault). He was nice and embarrassed and even offered to bring a free desert. Overall, the hotel is nice and we would stay there again. I do hope they address the WiFi issue though

Hotel Atitlan is by far one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. The landscape and grounds of the hotel are like heaven on Earth. Our room was spacious and comfortable. There is no AC or refrigerator, though. It didn't get too hot at night but was hotter than I am used to. The restaurant at the hotel is pricy but the food is good. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

For reference - I stayed at this hotel May 5-9 2024 My initial experience checking in and looking at the property of Hotel Atitlan was extremely positive and I was excited about staying here. Unfortunately after getting settled in I was quite underwhelmed with the hotel and accommodations which I had expected to be 4 star as marketed. Below are the pros and cons of my experience. Pros - Professional staff and with broken English but easy enough to communicate - Great view of the mountains and gardens - Poos and hot tub were fun to hangout at Cons - NO WIFI IN ANY ROOM - for me, as I was here and also still trying to get some work done this was a major issue. - Restaurant was overpriced and mediocre at best - better food can actually be found in town or we were going to other hotels that were less expensive but had a better menu and cook - No A/C in any room - during the evening and morning this was fine but expect to be quite hot during the day - Be ready to be price gouged - it's $150 to get a boat ride from the hotel - a 5 minute tuc tuc to the port and it's 35Q ($5). This also applies at the restaurant for food and drinks which I found incredibly expensive compared to what I was paying at the Porta in Antigua. - No ATM on-site Overall, I expected more. My recommendation is to shop around, there's better value and quality to be found in other resorts / hotels in the area.

Beautiful Property. Needs A/C in the rooms, even if it’s cold outside, rooms are very hot. The property, the gardens and the pool area are beautiful. I will stay again, please put air conditioners in the room.

While the rooms are nice, but nothing exceptional (the beds are very tough, the bathrooms are basic), the location and the gardens of the hotel are breathtaking. It is stunning and gorgeous ! The restaurant of the hotel is good. The breakfast is also good…when a la carte (the buffet is disappointing).

What a beautiful hotel with amazing gardens and view. The room I stayed in had the most incredible view of the lake and volcanoes. The hotel staff were wonderful and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

La habitación no tenía aire acondicionado, hacía un calor infernal. Había muchísimas arañas y la cama se desarmaba constantemente lo que hacía que el colchón se cayera a cada momento. El desayuno carísimo y ofrecían un menú por variado. Además, hasta las 2 am hubo un ruido que no dejó descansar por qué había una boda en las instalaciones del hotel. Nada recomendable este hotel

The staff was mediocre. I emailed several times to arrange transportation to the hotel. They never answered. I asked was staying at in Flores to call them and was able to get it done. The front desk doesn’t speak much English and forget to give me the Internet password. The staff at the restaurant are extremely slow. It feels like staying at a holiday inn with a great location

El hotel estaba demasiado lleno y con poco personal para atender room service, o prestar un servicio rapido en bebidas y comida. Nos atenderion muy mal para la calidad de hotel que se está pagando. El servicio en general muy deficieten y no es culpa necesariamente de los meseros. Es responsabilidad del hotel por no tener suficiente personal para atender a todos.

The hotel property has a beautiful and well-kept garden as well as a scenic view of Lake Atitlan. You quickly wonder why it's not rated a 5 star hotel. Then you do quickly find out why it is not, the hotel restaurant service is very slow considering they weren't even crowded while we were there. The staff was friendly though. My recommendations would be to improve the restaurant/ room service, have coffee available in the rooms, get ice machines per floor (there are no ice machines), invest into AC units for the rooms (some nights are not cold outside so you end up being hot in the room). Overall, my experience was good and I will go back to visit.

Restaurant served me the wrong order for breakfast and did not own up to it. It took hours for anyone to ask me if I wanted a drink or meal at the pool area; but others were IMMEDIATELY attended to when they sat in the area.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! The grounds are gorgeous, with meticulous care given to the expansive gardens. It also has a lovely Spanish colonial charm and the staff were very friendly and gracious.

The indoor-outdoor living setup creates a truly special experience—perfect for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Guatemala in a unique and memorable way. Lovely property, beautifully maintained, just a few minutes tuk-tuk ride outside of Panajachel. Recommend heading into town for food though.

You can not find a more beautiful, unique hotel. Surrounded by lush gardens, it really feels like a special experience. Liked that it was tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Pana with a dock for easy boat access to see villages on Lake Atitlan. Our daughter loved the pool. The food was pricier but enjoyable. Would have loved an in room coffee maker! Overall a wonderful experience

Ten minutes out of town and secluded, and a beautiful 100 year old property. A paradise.

There are a lot of things that are right about this property, and quite a few that I found disappointing. This is a very expensive hotel, and my premier room did not have air conditioning. When I was shown my room, the young man offered to open the door to my balcony so my room would not be hot. There is no screen door, and when I said I didn't want insects coming in my room, I was simply offered a second floor fan. I had no idea that all the taxis in Panajachel are tuk-tuks. This would be fine except for the fact that the hotel is VERY far from town, and the road outside the hotel is truly horrible. It's not only unpaved, it's got massive ditches and my one tuk tuk ride was *extremely* uncomfortable. As a result, the only way I could get away from the property was by renting a boat. That's very expensive too, but if you don’t do that, you kind of feel like the hotel is a beautiful prison. Speaking of which, without the ability to get into town, I wound up eating most of my meals over the 3 days onsite in the restaurant. Breakfast was fine, and the staff is reasonably friendly. However, both dinners I ate there were disappointing. I tried different cuts of steak, and each night the steak on my plate seemed like it had been partially steamed? The chef doesn't know how to put a proper crust on a steak, so the texture of the meat was unpleasant. Beyond that, on my second night, it rained very hard and the ceiling started leaking. I put down a towel.

Everything was good besides the entrance to the hotel. Need to work on the road. It can get messy with rain creating mud and difficult to travel from hotel to main road.

Stunning property with amazing gardens and view of the lake. Very good buffet breakfast and friendly/helpful staff. Only downside was the location (needed to get to tuktuks into the local village but these were cheap ($1 per person) and could be quickly booked by the hotel).

The property is very dated, and in need of repair. As for the restaurant, the food was not good. One of us got food poisoning and spent the last two days in the room. Very unsatisfied. Asked for a doctor, reception desk informed us to take the person to town.

The setting of the property and the gardens cannot be beat. It really is very, very beautiful. The restaurant, which offers a spectacular view of the lake, is terrible, however. The service, nonexistent, and the food is mediocre at best. Flour tortillas? Corn tortillas made with maseca? Nestle hot chocolate? Just ick. For the price of the rooms, one expects much more. Also, there was no hot water on one of the two days of our visit.

Limited dining, restaurant prices not in line with quantity of food. Beautiful gardens!!!!
