TownePlace Suites by Marriott Toronto Northeast/Markham

It was a nicr hotel with small kitchenette! We had an issue with the bathtub drain, took two technicians to fix it. However, great service since they offered 50$ off and free parking.

All good! Clean pool area. Tim Hortons in walking distance at corner. Pleasant stay.

We booked a 5-night stay through Expedia for TownePlace Suites by Marriot in Markham, from Oct 7-12 for our anniversary. Several unpleasant things happened during our stay: -We were placed in Room 1212, directly under the breakfast buffet room. We got a rude awakening at 6:30am when the first dining guest arrived for breakfast. From 6:30-9:30am all we heard were wooden chair legs scraping against the hardwood flooring above our heads. -We asked for a different room, and thankfully there was one. We had to pack up all our things and bring them to the front desk. This put a damper on our tight schedule for the day. -We asked the gentleman assisting us if he could get someone to put our groceries into the fridge (fresh green grapes and apple we purchased the night before). We got back to our new room that evening & we found the fresh fruit… in the freezer?!? The grapes were ruined. -The next early morning around 4am, fire alarm rang and all guests had to evacuate into the cold for almost two hours. After two nights, we have not yet gotten to enjoy a good night’s sleep at this hotel. -The pool was cold. -We checked out at 11am on October 12th. The guy printed out the receipt for us, but said that since we booked with Expedia, the expense should already have been paid with the package. Yesterday I checked our credit card statement. There is a $40 parking charge from TownePlace Suites. I have emailed front desk to dispute this but no response as of Oct 17.

Parking is crap. You have to pay the hotel $8.00 per night to park your vehicle on either the darkly lit alley way or the garage that doesnt have any security cameras. Parking is also hard to find. Other than that, the hotel is conveniently located right off the 403.

Check in was easy. Pool (too much chlorine) and gym open late; and I enjoyed my suite. Work on hot breakfast as the options were a veggie patty which was not tasty at all and eggs (allergy to that). Surprisingly a great space in the city!

Only concern I had is that you have to pay extra for the parking, and parking spots were limited in quantity.

Wonderful stay! Had all the amenities…the room had a mini kitchen which was wonderful! Pool was nice and warm! Had a great stay, would book again! Would have liked to have seen more healthy options for breakfast (more variety of fresh fruit), and a better tasting coffee…but honestly that’s a small complaint. Would be the only downside tbh because my family really enjoyed it here.

The staff is fantastic. I could tell they really care about their visitors. The entire facility was very clean - rooms, lobby, fitness center, business center, and breakfast area. Breakfast had lots of options and the food was fresh. There is a Starbucks located inside the hotel in their bistro. I will be visiting again. There are not many options for food, groceries, shopping without driving.

Good to have a kitchenette. Decent breakfast options. Parking fee CAD $8 was a suprprise. Restaurant downstairs is not bad either.

Rooms were fine. Pool was cool and not very accessible. You need to go to front desk and wait for maintenance person to use the lift in and out of the pool. Continental breakfast was mediocre.

It’s not very clean. The carpet in our room had popcorn crushed all around. There were other unknown droppings throughout the room. The shower had short hair lining the tub. Honestly, would not stay here again.

Hotel is clean, breakfast is good, and the front desk staff always helpful and pleasant.

2 days of family trip was wonderful. Clean hotel, rooms with comfortable bed, service is great too. Only thing's to improve is variation in break fast and more space in dining room. Will visit the hotel again for sure. Keep up the standard.

This was honestly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in the rooms were sweet so they had kitchenettes in it. The walls were spotted with oil and pizza sauce, stains, or whatever stains pasta sauce, stains on the wall. We have to change room because what the second room was the exact same as well.! I was very upset as well as they charge eight dollars a night for parking. There’s no parking at all in the hotel is very rundown and beat up. Staff was quite friendly though Breakfast was literally so boring and again the hotel was very dirty.

Staff was attentive and hospitable. Property is clean and well maintained. Nice touch to lobby cucumber water complementary. The room was nice and clean and housekeepers well awesome. Definately will be back.

Our room was clean and nice. The entrance of the hotel could have been cleaner. Cigarette butts littered the area. Someone should sweep. I know guests are at fault, but it didn't look good

Never again. CC on file when reservation made. Checking in I was told they needed my card. I told them it’s on file. They said that’s just for no show. They needed the card again: the no show function doesn’t interact with the check-in function. What? It’s the 21st century for Pete’s sake. When I said I wasn’t impressed & wanted to speak with someone higher than the hotel manager that was all I was offered along with assurance I would be contacted.. When I told them that wasn’t acceptable, my second request was met with stony silence. Room? Fridge was loud enough as it cycled on that it woke us. Every time. Bathroom? In a word: gross. One light not working. Looked up into the fixture: bulb missing, not just burned out; some kind of ick splattered inside the fixture. Bathroom barn didn’t close properly. Sink faucet needed two hands to turn it on. If not shut off with the same of force it dripped. I have two good hands. My husband doesn’t and had to ask me for help. Room curtains didn’t close properly. Getting up in wee hours, heading back to bed, through the gap in the curtains we were blinded by a bright security light in a parking lot on the other side of the street!! Checking out I asked about the parking charge. I got a snotty answer that the information was on the website. I didn’t use the website. I said it should have been communicated directly at check in. Basically, it was so sad, too bad. If they were the last hotel on the planet, I’d rather sleep in my car.

Front desk did not ask for my Marriott membership. Shower had mold and hair

The heating system was not working until the last day of my stay. I had to use a blow dryer to heat up the room.

Great staff, great service, no issues in that department however my biggest complaint is the sofa bed that's suggested as an actual sleeping arrangement for a room with more than 2 people. My 10 year old and 8 year old son couldn't even sleep on that sofa bed mattress let alone trying to picture an adult sleeping in it. Super thin, you can feel the springs inside of it and just very uncomfortable. The actual bed in the room was fine however. Just think twice before booking a room with a sofa bed if you plan to actually use it.

Terrible WIFI!!! Other than that the stay was great. Breakfast was excellent.

Probably a decent place for extended stays as it has kitchens

Check in was seamless and room was very spacious and comfortable.

Clean nice property. The room can use some modernizing USB ports bedside bed both sides. Keurig Type coffee machine. Softer beds the mattress was hard as a rock. I had to ask for 4 comforters to try make it softer for my hips. Either provide options for softer mattress or provide a topper to be added, that is my main reason for 3 starts would have given 4 if had a better mattress was told that was the Marriott standard. Well Marriott not everyone can slerp kn a rock. Also wished the coffee shop was openec later in the morning to early afternoon. But if there was a Keurig type coffee machine in the room that would make up for the coffee shop hours. Bistro food was good mpte options be nice. Nice direct drive to Toronto except for the amount of traffic LOL.

The room door was malfunctioning, the lock didn't work and it was difficult to close the door. The lemon ricotta pancakes at the bistro were excellent!

Toilet flush was very noisy. Overall I felt crowded and noisy ambience.

Very convenient location, good parking, high level of amenities, clean room. Fridge and A/c units in room were noisy however.

We really enjoyed our stay! The front desk staff were so kind and helpful. We’ll be back for sure!

Broken water pipe for hours and there was no notification to the customers. Didn't know what the problem was or when it was going to be restored. Room service walks in without even knocking and then doesn't show up for our entire stay of four days. Overall very poor experience.

I can honestly say that the customer service was the best I have seen in a long time. All staff from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff were all friendly, polite and happy to help. Keep up the great work!

The staff really make this hotel a true gem! The front desk surprised us with slices of cake when they found out we were there to celebrate our son’s 4th birthday. They went above and beyond. We stayed at a king suite and it was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids (1 crib). The breakfast was great! Amazing value.

The cleaning staff were especially wonderful! And Ginger!! Ginger was amazing :)

It would have been 5 stars if they didn’t double-book our room. Someone came in while I was in my underwear. We had to call the front desk to let them know our room was already occupied for the next 3 days. Then the staff of course killed our key cards so we had trouble going back inside and had to take another trip to the front desk, 11 floors down. Parking was also not free.

Very pleasant staff the property is clean breakfast is excellent changes up every day room service is wonderful and they honored the price I had online I didn't go there and there was no surprise extra charges or anything like that.

This property is conveniently located near the highway and offers breakfast, swimming and comfortable rooms for a family with young kids. Staff are friendly and helpful too!

Emplacement parfait pour aller au zoo et à Canada wonderland!

It did seem isolated in terms of access to shops but we are now in the Courtyard Marriott in Missisusaga and it is even more isolated.

Great access to the highways

Very convenient location very close to highway 401, restuarants, and shopping malls within 10 minutes drive.

Many restaurants within walking distance. Staff were excellent

I loved it, would recommen. Just keep in mind if you don’t have a vehicle , u gonna spend some time on the transit it is kinda far from stuff

Great room amenities: refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, etc. Included breakfast is very convenient. Location is very accessible from major thoroughfares.

Convenient location

There were no healthy options, the breakfast wasn't varied, the place is old, and the furniture is old. There was a lack of fruit variety, and they should have a breakfast with healthier options. There was a lack of cheese variety. The coffee was poor quality. The teas were low quality. The breakfast was terrible. We only had breakfast there one day; then we went to another restaurant.

Went to Canada's Wonderland easy to get too and worth the 25 min drive. Staff very friendly, easy getting the room. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious with a very nice view. We will be definitely stay again.

James and his front staff accommodated our every request with professionalism. Breakfast was very underwhelming though
