Nice spa ( not included with booking but worth the surcharge). Had one of the premier rooms so got bath robes and slippers to head down to the spa. Breakfast was good with quality ingredients and attentive service. Enjoy our stay.

Loved the milk and water machines available to fill your own. Good size pool but very annoying that you have to pay extra to use it! I’ve never experienced this in a hotel before and was the main reason we booked it. Plus they added £10 extra to the advertised price as prices had apparently just increased!! Then when we got to the pool (which has a 3 hour window for children to use in evening) we were told they were at capacity and we had to wait around 15-20 minutes. It looked like there was plenty of room but we were told x31 was the limit. If that’s the case I think a booking system needs to be implemented…there were quite a few people waiting to access. Good breakfast

A fantastic hotel with very friendly staff, it’s the fourth time we’ve stayed as the children love it. The swimming pool and spa is excellent ( you have to pay extra for this service when booking through Hotels.com which they don’t say on the website 😡) Will definitely be booking this hotel again

Check-in was achingly slow - a big queue with only one person on the desk. Room felt a bit old, like its best days were past it. Particularly irritating was being asked to pay £15 for gym access - a first as a hotel guest - only to encounter a gym that was poorly provisioned in respect of free weights (no barbells, some normal dumbbell weights missing). Food was good, and overall the staff were friendly and helpful. Although, adding to the air of eccentricity, there was an insistence of advance booking for breakfast - which, given that I was one of about three patrons sitting in a massive space, rather felt like overkill. All in all…mixed.

We stayed at the Aztec Hotel & Spa for two nights. It’s just a 10-minute drive from the M5 motorway. Access to the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi is available for an additional £15 per person, not included in the room rate. Fresh milk and chilled water are available free of charge from dispensers in the corridor—a thoughtful and convenient touch. Parking is ample and free, and the hotel provides fast, unlimited Wi-Fi. There are three E.ON EV charging points on site, although one was out of service during our visit. The instructions on the charging unit were unclear: there was no QR code, and downloading the app didn’t enable immediate use, as it seemed to require a physical charging card. Eventually, I used the E.ON website to activate the charger at a rate of 55p per kWh. This method worked well and was straightforward, though it wasn’t clearly explained on the unit itself.

Staff were friendly, room was pleasant and the spa facilities were great. However, I picked this hotel based on the pool and fitness facilities being included in the price. Notice on the hotels.com advert there is no mention of a surcharge. Turns out i should have received an email prior to arrival to make me aware of the fact that use of the facilities is £15/person... once I'd booked a none refundable room. £15 is not bad unless you're led to believe its included. I'd suggest changing the advert to make guests aware of all additional surcharges prior to booking!

While this hotel is wonderful - please be advised if booking through hotels.com or any other booking agent, the pool use is not included and is chargeable at £10 per person. It is only free if you book direct with the hotel. This would be my only real complaint as guests shouldn’t be discriminated against for their choice of booking platform.

Lovely hotel, great location for Bristol. Staff were great, rooms lovely, free parking as it was a weekend. Spa was stunning but £15pp charge for 1 night is very steep.

The hotel was nice and modern with a friendly check-in. My room was well appointed, comfortable and nice to be in. Food in the restaurant was tasty, well presented with excellent serving staff. The only thing I found disappointing were the drinking glasses supplied in the room had been used before were not clean!

Overall it was good. Friendly staff.Beds was comfy and sheets was clean. Only down side was the room 334 we had was abit dusty. Blinds had a layer of dusts and inside the cups that was provided. A drawer had used pair of socks in them.

From arrival to departure we couldnt fault the hotel, staff or facilities. Staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much bother. The hotel is meticulously clean. Unfortunately we didnt have time to use the pool or spa facilities, however they were visible on route to our room and they appeared to be of the same standard as the rest of the hotel. Upon entry into the room we were greated by a lovely Christmas set up for the kids. There was Christmas themed plates and cups with a cookie each, and themed paper for a letter to Santa to be written. There were also Christmas themed gift bags with activites. In the fridge was also juice cartoons and KP Choc Dips. For the adults there was a variety of coffee, coffee pods, teas, hot chocolate and biscuits. Also laid out on the childrens beds were little bathroom gift sets. The rooms are modern and the beds comfortable. There are jugs in the fridge with water and milk dispensers located along the corridor. Breakfast was fantastic with a relatively large variety on offer. This will definitely be a hotel we'll be revisiting next time we're in the Bristol area.

Broken Glass on the floor on the next to bed which caused a deep cut on partners foot. Accident report was filled out and was advised hotel would be in touch to discuss, that was on Sunday, now Wednesday and no response. Very disappointing customer care.

My "signature" room (number 246) was anything but... Whilst I can live with how outdated it was (and it was)... the sofa was torn and had stains on it that I dare not guess the origin of! The curtains where hanging off in areas... To some this may seem a little picky, however, its a spa, a place where you can relax and spend time to wind down.... and as such it has standards that should be achieved and surpassed! PS: This was my 6th stay this year alone so I am in a position to judge.

The hotel overall was very nice, clean, good facilities, and the rooms spacious. Staff were mostly very friendly. The food and drinks were of good quality, but ridiculously overpriced. I understand there are overheads to making a portion of chips and a half pint of draft cola, but £9.00 is going too far. I hear the alcoholic drinks were even more ludicrous. A couple of other points to mention, there was no wheelchair access to the main bar area that any of us could find. I had thought this was a requirement for hospitality nowadays? Also, some of your staff may require a little "retraining" in customer relations, and complaining to your guests about prams being in the main area, when you are hosting an event that will have prams in attendance is not good. I understand that they should not be blocking access areas, but instead of just walking past and stating clearly that they had to be moved, perhaps, suggest "where" they should be moved to, and offer some assistance, instead of us having to faff about and find another spot ourselves.

The room was difficult to reach, especially with luggage. Also, I had to return to the desk twice to have a new key cut, which was very inconvenient based on how far away the room was. Hotel is very nice and the room was great, but accessibility was difficult.

None of the lifts were working. We are in our late 80's and had a room on the top floor. The absence of lifts was not appreciated. We were offered another room but after a long day travelling we did not wish to pack and unpack late at night.

Lovely hotel, and lovely stay. A few negative; You have you pay to use the pool. This should be complimentary during your stay. Air con didn’t work, so room was very warm. Very noisy, with people shouting in the corridor

Stayed for five nights. Nice facilites inc fridge and good shower. I asked for a better pillow and i was pleased with the prompt response. The soundproofing into the corridoor could be better and it was disappointing to note that my towels were replaced daily

I'll start by saying all staff we encountered were exceptional and a credit to the venue. However, we paid a lot of money for our stay and the room/sleep quality did not reflect the high price tag and high star rating. The room was a good size but our "double" was actually two singles put together so you could feel the annoying join/gap in between. Whilst earplugs were provided (nice touch!) it was still very loud, you could hear entire conversations and I was woken up in the morning by someone in the next room using the hairdryer! I am very light sensitive so the light that came in from the surrounding edges of the window disturbed my sleep. Didn't have time to use the spa facilities but they looked lovely. Restaurant had a lovely ambience in the evening and food was good quality but felt the service charge was unnecessary considering there was only two of us and we were hardly demanding! My husband found it strange that the hotel is owned by a brewery yet they had ran out of all the draught beers. Would return for a spa day or afternoon tea etc but not to spend a night as sleep quality was too poor.

A king size bed is not 2 singles pushed together!! So disappointed in that especially as it was presented as an option. The air con was also broken. The staff were friendly about it and gave a fan but ultimately with the king size bed issue and it being ridiculously hot it wasn’t a particularly comfortable stay

We travelled Sheffield to cornwall and used the hotel as a 1 night stay to break up the journey with two children aged 6+9. It was conveniently located just off the motorway so really easy to access. Free parking included. We booked a family suite and it was brilliant - activity packs, toiletries, cookies, vip robes and slippers for the kids ... Great family friendly touches! The suite itself was huge too, perfect for a family of 4. The pool has "family friendly" times and is great for the kids. We enjoyed breakfast too, loads of choice and cooked to a high quality. Would highly recommend.

What a fantastic stay. Warm welcome by reception, a post card in bedroom saying happy birthday. Clean spa facilities. Steam very hot which was really nice. A robe was in wardrobe, however another one wasn’t in there so we asked reception and someone bought us one up very fast. Breakfast tasty. Bed comfortable. Quiet hotel room with no noise. Chocolate and tea/coffee in room. We loved it here and can honestly not fault one part of it. We also had great communication with staff prior to stay to remind us of any hidden fees etc for spa if we haven’t yet booked it which we already did. Thank you !!

Check-in was achingly slow - a big queue with only one person on the desk. Room felt a bit old, like its best days were past it. Particularly irritating was being asked to pay £15 for gym access - a first as a hotel guest - only to encounter a gym that was poorly provisioned in respect of free weights (no barbells, some normal dumbbell weights missing). Food was good, and overall the staff were friendly and helpful. Although, adding to the air of eccentricity, there was an insistence of advance booking for breakfast - which, given that I was one of about three patrons sitting in a massive space, rather felt like overkill. All in all…mixed.

Broken Glass on the floor on the next to bed which caused a deep cut on partners foot. Accident report was filled out and was advised hotel would be in touch to discuss, that was on Sunday, now Wednesday and no response. Very disappointing customer care.

The two staff at reception rude and disrespectful whereby helpful or accommodating in anyway. I’ve stayed in Marriott Hilton, raddisson this is by far the worst service and hotel experience I’ve had in a long. Secondly why give the guest an option for double or twin bed and only give them a twin bed for a couple makes no sense should be more equitable and punctual in dealing with the requests of the guest. Also didn’t appreciate staff or guest knocking on our door during day light to turn it down. It’s not that deep and plus we are well within our rights I will never be staying in this place again poor service apart from the bar man. Everything else was unorganized and disrespectful especially the first two receptionist in the morning at 11:00 on Friday 4th July

This was the third time we had stayed at the Aztec and we had a fantastic experience. I booked the stay for my wife’s birthday which included the additional access to the spa and a massage. We also booked dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. My wife has very specific dietary requirements and these were all catered for by the Aztec’s wonderful staff. A special thank you to Lucy who looked after our table for our evening meal. She had carefully picked out the dishes which my wife could eat and made suggestions. This personal touch really made our evening. Lucy also presented us with a selection of gluten free cakes after the meal as a little treat for Liz’s birthday, which we were both really taken aback by. So thank you Aztec for making it such a special weekend getaway. Lots of hotels do not pay attention to the little details - the Aztecs staff most definitely did. We will most definitely be returning.

The hotel is nice enough. Really busy. Spa was always packed. We didn’t realise as hotel guests that we had to pay for parking and you got a new ticket to pay each time you left and came back. If you ask at reception, they give you a pass to leave so you only pay once. In addition, I was having surgery on one of the days we stayed. We asked reception if it would be possible to get two slices of toast at 6am (required before the surgery). They said no because breakfast starts at 6.30. I asked if it would be possible to have some cereal and milk at 6am instead so there’s no cooking. They said no. Baring in mind we’d paid £20 for their breakfast. I thought this was very unaccommodating. We had room service after surgery. I only ate three bites of the steak - it was not nice.

Best hotel around The Wave Bristol. The only downside is that the kitchen closes at 8:45pm, so watch out if you were to surf evening waves (e.g.: 7pm session) as you may not be back at the hotel in time

Very disappointing. Mostly let down by poor customer service. Snooty staff who tried to get more money out of you at every turn. I object to booking a hotel with a pool, then paying an additional &10 pp for the privilege of using it. I understand there is an early check in charge, but other hotels let you in if you arrive slightly early & the room happens to be ready. Not here… £25 please madam for the privilege of popping your bags in a couple of hours early… err, no thanks! I don’t appreciate having to book a slot for my breakfast but still waiting over 10 mins to be seated. Then being served a lukewarm tiny coffee & rancid meat which was taken away without apology or redress. This hotel thinks it is something which it is not. Please try & get the basics of good service & value right before attempting a 5 star veneer for a 2 star service. Having a security tag on your dressing gown didn’t add a good vibe either…

Pool itself was wonderful aside from the ridiculously rowdy group who spoilt it for us. Kit in the room was ok although we had no bathrobes as promised. Breakfast really great. Buffet cereal, pastries, fruit, juice. Then hot good cooked to order and served at the table. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

We stay every year as part of our Christmas shopping weekend and nothing really changes. It’s a good quality hotel, with great rooms & good amenities. The local is good but there is nothing else around so you’re in it with them in terms of food etc which is a little pricey. I think breakfast could be better.

Room was clean, well equipped, quiet and comfortable but perhaps needing a little tlc, particularly the bathroom. Restaurant was well run, with good menu, meals (dinner and breakfast) were presented nicely and very enjoyable. Overall a good option, only niggle was additional charge to use the gym/spa (so didnt use!).

I hate to have to write a bad review but I feel we were so let down especially after we complained to the reception staff. The hotel and spa was booked for a birthday surprise for my best friend’s birthday. The room was not clean with stains almost everywhere and even in the sheets. There was an awful smell of drains and we informed the reception staff and absolutely nothing was done about this. The good part of the stay was the spa.
I hate to have to write a bad review but I feel we were so let down especially after we complained to the reception staff. The hotel and spa was booked for a birthday surprise for my best friend’s birthday. The room was not clean with stains almost everywhere and even in the sheets. There was an awful smell of drains and we informed the reception staff and absolutely nothing was done about this. The good part of the stay was the spa.

Great family stay We had a fantastic stay at the Aztec Hotel with our three children. The hotel was very family-friendly, and the kids absolutely loved the pool area — it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Breakfast was also a real hit, with plenty of choice and something for everyone. It was a great way to start the day. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. A lovely hotel for a family break, with great facilities and a welcoming atmosphere.
