Stay was very good but we stayed on the 3rd floor and the gym on 1st floor plays the music so loud that you can hear it on the 3rd floor at 8am in the morning i feel sorry for people on the 2nd floor music should not be on that loud till about 11am

A great set up. Would recommend to book directly with hotel as using other sites yoou then have to pay for swimming and gym. A great place to stay and rest. Outdoor seating if you want to have a meal or drink. Staff are friendly and go out there way to make sure you have a wonderful time. I will be differently returning.

Loads of great facilities, I like Village Hotels only thing is the bar system for food at night can get overwhelmed.. not the staff's fault. The staff at this particular hotel were above and beyond helpful and polite.

Very disappointed that to use the pool extra had to be paid -I had not had this extra expense when I have stayed here before (many times) and it had always been a deciding feature of using this hotel… The actual hotel is good, staff usually speak and are cheerful-not so when we checked in… This time we did not use the restaurant due to my allergies but there is normally something on offer for everyone. It’s also a bonus when you can take a nightcap to your room!

Clean room. Super efficient and friendly staff. Everley pool and facilities - clean and perfect temperature pool and other facilities in the spa areas. Bar staff and area very welcoming with screens for sports all around if that's your interest but not intrusive if it's not. Starbucks staff Were excellent and coffee was delicious - a nice touch.

The hotel room is tiny, I was prepared for it but not when I couldn’t really walk nor open my suitcase, and I am a petite size 6!! The first room was full of mould in the bathroom and so much dust bunnies it was disgusting! We had to move to another room but it was always so loud with the wind blowing under our door so we had to put a bath mat under the door at night before bed so we can sleep. It is also concerning when we got woken up at 1am by a stranger looking for someone! The glass sliding door to the bathroom is so near the bed it is ridiculous, we can see and hear things we don’t really want to! The shower floods no matter how hard we tried to shower slowly and not move, we had to sit sideways on the loo because of the flood which is ridiculous! I would have given it 1 star if not for the lovely Beth who is always so friendly and helpful. Chantelle helped us with sorting out a new room so shout out to the both of them. Be careful with the free parking as it is misleading, it isn’t free all day, only a few hours so we had to pay £5 per day.

Everything about this hotel was great for us, it is spotlessly clean and has a new feel. The staff are super friendly and efficient. We did not try the hreakfast so cannot comment on that, but we did visit the pool and spa twice, both very good experiences.

Downside, when we checked in we were given an unmade up room so needed to change. Staff were apologetic. Breakfast average. Plus side location for outside of Portsmouth/ Portchester easy to get to and large car park. We needed a place to stay for the evening after a party and it fitted the bill.

4.50 in the morning you could hear the gym being rearranged, and at 5.15 loud music followed Shower couldn’t be raised above chest height as the fixture was broken The TV was covered in dirt The whole experience was very poor

Extremely irritating noise from the gym on our second floor room. Loud music, treadmills and weights being dropped until past midnight. Filthy TV remote. Pillows like bags of potatoes. Lack of privacy in bathroom due to stupid glass wall design. No natural light just striped oblique window. Very noisy bathroom fan and door. Nowhere to put luggage. No answer from my Hotels.com message highlighting these issues I sent at 3 am due to lack of sleep from the above. All other hotels answer messages in this system promptly.

We had a great time in a clean well run hotel with convenient parking and location. The room was very small. All the rooms are the same size. It is so small one of us had to sit on the bed while the other unpacked. This will be our debate before booking again 😏

Clean room, bed was a great size and very comfortable. Shower was a lovely size and also liked the glass wall splitting the bedroom/ bathroom. walls were very thin and could hear a lot. The shower fan was like an airplane taking off in the room. No smart TV/ Netflix. No phone or mini fridge in the room. Couldn’t contact reception when needed to without going down. The staff were not very friendly or helpful in the hotel and the bar/ grill plus the prices in the bar/ grill were astronomical for what you got.

Good welcome by staff. Room is very small, bathroom at the window end so it doesn’t have much natural light. Bathroom has frosted glass windows which can be made more opaque but the door has no frosted glass, ugh. Bed was big and comfortable In the room there isn’t a wardrobe, just a few hangers on a rail. The room and facilities in the room were basic. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, but alright, all self service. I would probably have given this hotel 3/5 stars except for the awful banging music and gym class going on at full blast from when we woke at 8.30. Seriously, do you think we want to listen to a gym class booming on and an instructor when we woke up? Either turn the speaker system down or insulate better. The hotel felt like a gym being rooms attached. Not all sides of the hotel could hear the gym class, but we could and it was dreadful. I think the hotel management should assess the noise levels from the rooms themselves, they seem to have forgotten it’s a hotel as well.

Good stay overall. Directions to the hotel from the Hotels.com app aren correct. Checkin was easy and great. Rooms are very small. Glass wall separating shower and toilet from room. No privacy at all (even with frosted glass). GREAT food in the restaurant downstairs.

The hotel was difficult to find in the dark with google maps. The king sized bed was uncomfortable as it was 2 singles joined together. I either felt I was on top of a mound or on the join.

Family visiting so i wanted to pay for the room before check in time at 3. Rude woman at checkin said No check-in before 3, when i tried to explain that i only wanted to pay we didnt need the room yet, she just cut across me with I HAVE TOLD YOU. If refunding was an option i would have left.

Ellie on check in was really helpful and welcoming. She even upgraded us! The property is clean throughout, has great facilities and Guy & Vicky In the leisure club were also helpful and friendly. Our room had all we needed and the bed was comfy. Loved the ESPA products. The food was good - a nice selection and cooked well. Service from the bar staff also was really good. Same applied at breakfast service too. One of the best Village hotels we have stayed in. Highly recommend

Unfortunately booked this as a 60th birthday present for 2 nights for my brother in law who was visiting the uk from Australia. I was embarrassed as they had to move rooms as the toilets were blocked. It was expensive and not worth the money. The rooms were too dark making it difficult to see while getting ready. On top of this they have charged me twice by holding a pending payment despite me paying in full at check out. I rang to complain and was told i would receive an email and money off for poor service. Still waiting.

Mixed bag really. Check in were lovely, and breakfast staff also nice. Night porter was rather abrupt. I was surprised the bar closed at 12. I was also given an accessible room which was a bit of a problem - the sink was tiny and very low down, and the mirror stopped before my 6ft face - with moody lighting it made shaving a challenge!

Superb as always. All staff are very helpful and friendly. I wish to mention the exemplary service from Callum, the restaurant manager. He goes above and beyond to look after my 12 year old son’s needs, who had autism. Life can be very challenging at times and Callum makes things much easier for us when we stay at the Village in Portsmouth. Thank you so much.

We stayed as we were going to portsmouth dockside. I did originally think it was closer to more things but thats my own fault for not checking. Easy to access though from the roads so just nipped in the car the next day. We stayed 1 night, had a drink in the bar. Didnt eat so cant comment on food. Very clean and staff friendly.

Liked the rooms and aircon was a bonus. Breakfast was good and location was an easy walk to cosham train station for access to Portsmouth or Fareham. Car parking was easy and plentiful.

Very handily located for the ferry port. It seemed strange not having a bedroom window, but as it was within sight of the motorway that worked in its favour. Next time I will check in earlier to try the restaurant

Very friendly service, very accommodating staff, food was average, portions were huge, pool was fun, would have liked healthier food options, location was terrible if you have no car, it was impossible to get an Uber and had to wait up to 20 minutes for a taxi, bed was huge and vomfy but thd room was tiny - nowhere to open suitcase even on the floor.

Hotel top notch, staff, very welcoming and helpful. Facilities were fabulous, staff, also very helpful and friendly. Didnt like that there were no shops around, no where to go and see anything without a car. Overall, a fantastic place to stay. Well done staff and management team 👏

Very easy to get to, not to far from the city centre and beach, Ubers where very accessible. Room was very clean, tidy and modern, the bed was super comfy and the shower was powerful and spacious. Would recommend and definitely stay again!

I must say the food quality is very poor in bar area. Order Heartly Teriyaki with Salmon. Veg were dead as it they month old. Rest was from microwave. For £24 other places are giving quality food. Then I gave second chance and ordered veggie burger. It was dry, 100% dry zero flavour. Personally, if you cannot serve good food stick to hotel and gym

I must say the meal we had was very very poor not worth £17 at all very disappointing unfortunately we are staying another night because of weather & my husband not being well so it’s proving to be expensive for us ! Going back to your menu we only had a Katsu curry only 3pieces of chicken 😡

They stay and hotel service was lovely though the only thing I found was the rooms seemed lacking in comparison to other hotel chains. Where for the same price you can get larger rooms but also rooms that include a small fridge and a connection port to connect your own devices to the room TV. The breakfast choice also seemed limited and not overly fresh.

The only thing that did not wow me is the quality of the food, especially the prawn salad, very disappointing even the lettuce had seen better day and the vinaigrette dressing just full of oil and tasteless. The young man working at the bar and the front of house, should be the manager he definitely knows what customer service is and looks like. Very knowledgeable, better than the guy with glasses who seems not fit for purpose, very arrogant and very unprofessional. Thank you to Maddy she’s also a superstar, always going to ask the kitchen, to give customer satisfaction while manager is doing God knows what in the kitchen instead being on the floor to make life easy for those working at the bar. The hotel was lovely, modern, fresh and I loved the shower. Reception staff warm, welcoming with a great can do and will do attitude, I had a wonderful time as long as I didn’t have to engage with the guys in blue and white shirts, they need more training in customer service and great team players.

the bed was big and comfy, the shower had lots of room and the food served at pub & grill was delicious. my partner said the chips and burger he got was one of the best he has ever had and i really enjoyed my pizza!
