At first glance, the hotel appears to be well maintained. Unfortunately, this impression quickly fades due to a cockroach infestation. We were initially given room 202, which had a strong musty and damp smell. Before even unpacking our bags, we spotted a cockroach on the desk, and the bathroom was crawling with them. After complaining, we were moved to room 303, directly across the hall. This room did not smell bad, but we also encountered cockroaches there. To make matters worse, the elevator was out of order. The hotel is located directly across from a highway, and on the other side, a train passes by regularly and blares its horn loudly. In short, at $100 per night, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere

We’ve stayed in this hotel a few times in the last couple years because it is near a restaurant we love to eat at when we are in the area. However, this will be the last time as it has gotten progressively worse each time. Found out at check in that the elevator was not working. Definitely not ideal when one person has a foot injury and another has arthritic knees. The exit door closest to the stairs was being propped open with a rock. That didn’t seem very secure so I kicked it away so the door could close. Turns out it was that way because the key card entry didn't work. Had to walk around to the front to get back in. The second floor where our room was located smelled horribly of pot. Or maybe someone had a skunk masquerading as a dog. Thankfully, it was just the hallway and not also in the room. Check-in was easy, the pet fee can’t be beat, the beds and pillows are reasonably comfortable, and breakfast is what you would typically expect.

Overall terrible stay. Nobody at front desk when arrived to check in. Had to call a number for somebody to come to desk. Guy rushed through to give me key and didn't tell me anything beside the elevator was not working. Had to walk up to 3rd floor room with bad knee and back. 2. Toilet continues to flush unless giggle handle. 3. Could not get shower to not be scadling hot water so couldn't take showers. 4. Bathroom door handle comes off. 5. Room not cleaned at all. No clean towels provided. 6. Morning of check out...8am to checkout...nobody at desk to check out. Said to call for assistance.

The hotel is very convenient but also somewhat noisy due to its proximity to I95. It's well maintained, and the breakfast is better than many comparable hotels. I was frustrated that we were charged a higher pet fee than quoted in a welcoming email message which stated: Pets Allowed, for 15.00 USD Per Night, Per Pet. 50 lbs Max, 3 Pets Per Room. (We were charged $25. for a 20 lb dog, rather than $15.)

Came in to check the room prior to bringing my family in. I ended up spraying the entire room with disinfectant as a precaution after finding a small dead roach mashed in the door of the fridge. The motel next door appeared to have some illegal activities of some sort, as a trucker was observed leaving a room and giving the individual money. Staff had a hard time communicating due to some language issues. The hotel smelled horribly of weed the entire time. The noise from the interstate made sleep nearly impossible. Things were not working the way they should. The ice maker dumped a bunch of ice on the floor and it was actively leaking into the dining area during breakfast hours. One of the wafflemakers was not working correctly and maintenence said that it had been addressed with management but that they insisted he put it back out anyway. As I was packing up I pulled my vehicle to the entrance and was followed out by the manager. He pretended to be messing with his car and stayed watching me the whole time. The only bright spot was our housekeeping lady. An older black lady working the second floor. She was so helpful and sweet to us. I will not return to this hotel and highly suggest others not stay here.

This is a renovated property. The elevator has been not in service for about 2-3 weeks (my boyfriend travels and had stayed here 2weeks ago). The vending machines on the second floor did not work. The vending machines on the 3rd floor took my money and didn’t give me what I wanted so we had to go down to the desk and get the money back. I will not be coming back here, if ever in Ashland again I will be booking somewhere else.

No one at front desk on arrival. Waitrd 10 minutes and called the hotel. He was in a break room eating lunch. Checked onto room on 2nd floor. Demo materials where a room had been gutted met us as we stepped off the elevator. Went to room - tv was broken off stand and laying face down on media center. Went back to lobby. Man gone again. I called again - he came out and gave us a room on the first floor. TV working. Noticed stains on the sheet right at neckline - gross looking. Kept the room - because otherwise okay. The staff is nice when serving you - but the property is not in great shape. But consider $75 a night - you get what you pay for.

There were roaches in the bathroom! The bedspread had stains. The pillowcase had blood, as if someone had a nose bleed and they didnt't replace it. Previous guest had removed smoke detector from the wall, presumably to smoke in the room, smell was noticeable.

I liked the location; it was close to the area we had to travel to. What I didn't like was the molded curtains, the room smelled like the carpet was flooded before, the beds had red stains on both the mattress. During morning breakfast, we saw two roaches.

Got to the property at 330am, tired and just wanted sleep. We had accommodations for a king suite for two nights. Opened the door to the room and it was musty. As I was checking the filters for the hvac (they were clogged and filthy) I heard my partner exclaim he just killed a bug and the toilet wouldn’t flush it, just kept swirling water. I went into the bathroom to investigate and another cockroach came running towards the wall. We grabbed our belongings and went back to the front desk where he advised us that was the only room left and we had no other choice for a room there. The only good thing about this property is how quickly they refunded our money and I thank hotels.com for that. Quality inn will NEVER get my business

No clue how this property has such good ratings on Expedia. The room I was given at check in was FILTHY. I'm talking food on the floor, dirty sheets covered in hair, hair in the shower, and the fridge STUNK and was covered in mold. I asked for a different room, but the second one wasnt much better. The sheets were still dirty and covered with LOTS of hair, not just a strand or two. I asked for a refund and left, it was so bad.

Very unsafe, back and side doors are open all night long. Dirty carpet, smells hard chemicals everywhere , underwear was left inside the drawer. Visible mouse trap. I would not recommend this hotel.

We walked into the hotel and immediately smelled the weed. The elevator sounded like it was about to break down. We walked into our room and it smelled of mildew, the sheets were very dirty as seen in the pictures, and the entire hotel was in very poor condition. After looking at the pictures I thought this would be a nice, new hotel, but it was not. The toilet overflowed after flushing into the floor and ran into the room and hallway before stopping. I tried to get moved into a different room but they claimed they were sold out of rooms even though the parking lot was not full. They said they would give us a $40 refund for our trouble, did not receive it. None of the staff could speak very good English and the housekeeping staff could not speak English at all. The door to the parking lot was left open at all hours of the night to make it very unsafe as well. Just overall very disappointing.

I wouldn't return. 1. Bad smell in the lobby and my room. 2. They were upset when I asked for two pillows to use the sofa bed. 3. The main door was in poor condition. 4. No water pressure in the bathroom. 5. The bed frame was covered in dust. 6. Stained sofa bed cushions. 7. Uncomfortable and worn mattress on the sofa. 8. I went to check out and no one was there to be in their room. 9. Breakfast was the same both days. 10. Old curtains that let in light. 11. Unfortunately there were more cons than pros. It sits right beside 95 so lots of car nose, water pressure is bad, carpet and area didn’t look vacuumed or dusted, room smelled moldy, elevator not working and we were on the 2nd floor. I won’t be staying at this hotel again. The only convience was it was near Kings Dominion, breakfast was decent and breakfast area was clean.

We needed a place to stay while driving through and it did the job. The hotel is clean but dated. Check-in was good but the man checking us in did not converse in any conversation. We had a running toilet in our room that had a makeshift fix of a rubber band to hold the float cup in place. Unfortunately, the rubber band had stretched so every time we flushed the toilet, we had to manually hold it back into place. We would have requested to change rooms, but we arrived late and had an early morning start the next day so just wanted to get into bed and get some sleep.

The hotel was fine. Needs some updates and my door didn’t close well Check in has been horrible and think I’ll be sending credit card disputes next week. I booked 2 rooms to be paid at check in. My in laws also booked 1 room and paid in advanced. But when I checked in, they gave me 1 of my rooms and my in-laws reservation and charged me for theirs again. Then when in-laws checked in they said there was no reservation- they just booked and paid for another room. And they saw my second room as a no show and charged my credit card $330 for a room that was only $220. We have overpaid this stay by over $500 and front desk says I have to wait for someone else to talk to, who won’t be in until after I leave in the morning.

Came in to check the room prior to bringing my family in. I ended up spraying the entire room with disinfectant as a precaution after finding a small dead roach mashed in the door of the fridge. The motel next door appeared to have some illegal activities of some sort, as a trucker was observed leaving a room and giving the individual money. Staff had a hard time communicating due to some language issues. The hotel smelled horribly of weed the entire time. The noise from the interstate made sleep nearly impossible. Things were not working the way they should. The ice maker dumped a bunch of ice on the floor and it was actively leaking into the dining area during breakfast hours. One of the wafflemakers was not working correctly and maintenence said that it had been addressed with management but that they insisted he put it back out anyway. As I was packing up I pulled my vehicle to the entrance and was followed out by the manager. He pretended to be messing with his car and stayed watching me the whole time. The only bright spot was our housekeeping lady. An older black lady working the second floor. She was so helpful and sweet to us. I will not return to this hotel and highly suggest others not stay here.

No one at front desk on arrival. Waitrd 10 minutes and called the hotel. He was in a break room eating lunch. Checked onto room on 2nd floor. Demo materials where a room had been gutted met us as we stepped off the elevator. Went to room - tv was broken off stand and laying face down on media center. Went back to lobby. Man gone again. I called again - he came out and gave us a room on the first floor. TV working. Noticed stains on the sheet right at neckline - gross looking. Kept the room - because otherwise okay. The staff is nice when serving you - but the property is not in great shape. But consider $75 a night - you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately there were more cons than pros. It sits right beside 95 so lots of car nose, water pressure is bad, carpet and area didn’t look vacuumed or dusted, room smelled moldy, elevator not working and we were on the 2nd floor. I won’t be staying at this hotel again. The only convience was it was near Kings Dominion, breakfast was decent and breakfast area was clean.

We had a good stay at the Quality Inn. The hotel has good access to Richmond, Ashland, and Kings Dominion. They are also very dog friendly with a decent amount of grass (even though a lot of previous pet owners had not scooped their dogs’ poop). Breakfast was also good. Coffee could have been better with larger cups and creamer options, but it was decent coffee.

Close to Kings Dominion, and only an hour from Busch Gardens. Excellent location for coaster enthusiasts. Room was clean, beds were comfy. Can't ask for more at this price point.

Immediately off the I-95 exit. Two blocks to Walmart and shopping mall. Less than 10 minutes to Randolph-Macon campus. Rooms were nice and a great value for the price.

Good overnight stay. A very fair price for a decent room. Breakfast was also good especially considering the very affordable room. Nothing fancy but a great deal. I would stay there again, no hesitation. Pet friendly for only an additional $15.00

You can tell this is a older hotel but someone gave it a lot of attention and updates. The rooms are very clean, lobby is updated, and the breakfast was great! Awesome place for a night stay at a great price.

There was dead bugs covering most surfaces. Really it seemed like there was no cleaning between customers. The toilet barely worked. Seemed like they had the water pressure turned so low it would got clogged trying to flush paper. The door only latched half the time so be careful leaving things in your room. Linen stunk, really the whole hotel stunk. My wife was so uncomfortable she slept in the car. The free wifi was crap, I couldn't connect with anything but my cell phone so no switch for my son. All and all I'll never stay there again.

I booked this room after a very disappointing experience with a competing hotel/motel within close proximity. The check in process was on point. I was received immediately and given my key card, directions to my room, etc. The room was clean. Plenty of towels, wash cloths,etc. for my overnight stay. There were the usual breakfast items offered the next morning. The staff maintaining the breakfast area seemed to be quite attentive to cleanliness and replenishing the foods offered. I have no problem staying here again in the future.

Conveniently located in the area I frequently visit. The walls are very thin I can here the guest next to me. There are also bugs 🐛 in my shower 🚿, and under the bathroom accessories. The behind the bed was dirty also.
