Great stay on route to final destination. Ample car parking, great welcome, modern with suitable facilities like a 24 hour reception, vending area and bar. Hotel does bar meals and breakfast is included which was good quality and replenished regularly. Lady in reception, Donna was very friendly. Room location was great on the ground floor and probably the biggest hotel room I’ve stayed in. It had enough space for all of us - often when trying to book a hotel room for more than 2 adults and 2 children is impossible and you always get offered 2 rooms at double the cost so this was a pleasant surprise. Beds were comfy, good facilities and clean. There is a Harvester next door and petrol station, if you want to venture slightly further there is a bowling alley, McDonald’s, miller and Carter, beefeater etc as well as a b&m and sainsburys. Good location and was helpful for us on our way to Devon to break up the journey

Rooms comfortable and clean. Double bed felt small but even then the quilt only just covered it, but generally the room was good. It was clean and in good condition but was a little chilly. The aircon just seemed to do it's own thing! It was rainjng and much chillier than of late so I set the temperature to the maximum setting but it was still only luke warm and then the aircon started blowing out cold air. No way was the room warm enough for the system to decide it needed cooling down. The bar in the evening was good but suffered from a lack of seating at one point. But you could get served pretty quickly and the drinks are not overpriced. The restaurant in the morning was very busy with not enough seating and the hot food ran out quickly. Having said that, the two or three staff on duty worked hard and did a first class job under very difficult circumstances. Parking was easy and it's very easy to get to from the motorway. There is a pub opposite the hotel which is reasonable for a drink and an excellent pub for dinner within about 15 minutes walk over a foot bridge.

Excellent customer service at reception. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating also bringing some laughter at check-in and also during bar service. A great location just off the M5 junction 25 and next to the Harvester. We also noticed that it was a dog friendly hotel which was great to see. The room was very clean and well equipped. We will definitely return. Thank you!

Had a really good time. Very helpful front desk people. Excellent breakfasts. There were a few challenges with getting the room cleaned and the cleaning staff wasn't very communicative. Seemed a bit hit and miss.

I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Taunton East. It was just what I needed for my visit. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. My room and bathroom were good and comfortable. Breakfast was good too. I would stay at this hotel again when visiting Taunton and the wider area.

Reception staff very friendly and helpful. However, housekeeping was not up to standard. Beds were not properly made (sheets had been ignored and just the covers had been made), cups not replaced as well as glasses. Breakfast great with a wide variety. Our daughter lives in Taunton and we’ve stayed at this hotel many times and will return. However, housekeeping needs to be improved massively!

The hotel itself was very easy to get to and the welcome was lovely and genuine. We had requested a groud floor room due to medical issues. The room was lovely but unfortunately the cups and spoons .were sticky and had coffee stains on them so we had to rewash them. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast wasnt very good the fresh orange juice wasn't juice, it was squash. The scrambled eggs were cold, the bacon was very fatty and again cold. The butter for the bread was cold and solid so ripped the bread unless you had it on toast. Outside the hotel are pillars covered in dog urine, running across the pathway. I get that dogs are part of a family but why let them urinate by the main entrance to the hotel ?

Room was clean, modern and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was no bottled water in the room and only sparkling water available to buy (normal bottled water had finished). Breakfast was served from 7am on the weekend giving me enough time to eat before an 8am shift. No heater in bathroom and instead of central heating, there is a air condition unit which didn’t really warm the room.

Room 019. Dark grey dirty looking depressing carpet. Stipled artex on ceiling. No sockets by bedside! Unnecessary curtain covering a wall and falling onto tea making tray. Room stank of some type of cleaning product, made me wheezy, it wouldn't go even with window open as much as they let you. Couldn't sleep because of the constant noise from the aircon/heater unit: there was no remote control provided. Green light above door shining into room all night. Also outside noise from a great big generator box, noisy all night. Needed a decent coffee in the morning but it was luke warm and tasteless, out of a machine, yuk. The juice wasn't proper juice; sugary and worse than Tesco value. No fried or boiled eggs, just tasteless scrambled. Sausages were cheap, like Tesco value. Nice bacon and tomatoes. Heating trays did not keep food hot enough.

Great stay, enjoyed the free breakfast buffet, room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Staff was friendly and welcoming, only downside was the room's AC unit was incredibly loud, unusually so.

The double bed seemed to be a small double.The electric sockets were to low for us older people to bend down to use.The remote control for the t v never worked and lastly the toilet holder kept falling off.Overall the room and hotel were great,staff were very good.We will be staying again in the new year.thank you.

Efficient check-in, good room and, accepting that this was an Holiday Inn Express with a limited evening food menu, the food we chose was exactly what we needed after a long tiring day. The only slight complaint was that the selection of fruit supplied at breakfast was very limited. Would we stay here again? Certainly!

Helpful, friendly staff. Convenient location close to M5 - however postcode given took us further into the industrial estate so some confusion whether this was correct hotel (we knew there were 2 Holiday Inns close together!). Harvester pub next door was fully booked (Thursday eve in August) but we enjoyed a tasty soup and pizza from the hotel bar.

Nice hotel. My only complaint would be it's distance from Taunton town centre. It was a £10+ taxi journey each way if you don't have your own car, and very little close by within walking distance, other than a Harvester restaurant. Although there is a Sainsbury's and a cinema/bowling alley a short drive or medium walk away.

Stay here every year but the pet charge has now gone up to £30 which is just too high. My dog is small and doesn't cast whatsover but even if she did £30 is steep for an extra hoover. The breakfast let it down this year, stale limited items, sausage, bacon and hash browns all tough like they'd been cooked and reheated. No porridge, small selection of cereal and pastries. Coffee machine not working properly, told young lad, didn't do anything about it. Was so nice the last time we stayed so this year disappointed

For the price I paid, it’s was poor . The room was small and cramped. The breakfast was poor not enough choices and the food quality was poor. I had dinner Monday night the food was very bad everything was frozen and heated up in the microwave including the India Nan bead and price with a drink was £23.50 I told the waitress and she said sorry about that.

My room was not made up when i arrived. This was resolved and i was moved quickly to a room opposite. This was at back of hotel. Unfortunately there was a loud workman outside cutting and banging from 9 till 10pm. I was then woken at midnight by the same workman banging again. Then at 6am i was woken again by loud talking. Terrible sleep. Breakfast was also poor with croissants and muffins missing and dried out bacon. Parking was easy to find and shared with Harvester next door.

The breakfast was awful, no other choice of eggs only scrambled, the bacon was rock hard sausages over cooked, and cold. We didn't even bother with breakfast the last day, for what we paid i expect a better standard of food.Noise from people next door went on all night. We wont be returning.
