Zion Park Motel

We stayed at Zion Park Motel and overall, it was an okay budget-friendly place, but we had a significant issue with the temperature in Room 105. We checked in around 4 PM, and the room was already very warm. We set the AC to high, but by 10:30 PM the room was still around 77°F. It didn’t finally feel cool until around 2 AM. The following day, we came back around 4 PM and the room was warm again. The sun beats directly onto the windows, and this particular room seems to have poor insulation, which made it very difficult to keep cool. The bathroom was especially warm, and you could actually feel quite a bit of heat coming from the refrigerator. The cold water in the bathroom was also never really cold—it was consistently warm. After taking a shower, you would come out and start sweating again because the bathroom was so warm. I did notice that the other two rooms my friends stayed in were fine with the AC, so it seems to be an issue specific to Room 105 rather than the entire motel. The person managing the front desk was nice and helpful, but I really think something should be done about the insulation and cooling in this particular room. I also don't think it helps when rooms are being cleaned and the doors are left open for a while, allowing all the cool air to escape and making it take much longer to cool the room back down. Thankfully, they have a pool, which was a nice bonus. It’s a decent size, and the kids really enjoyed it. They also provide breakfast vouchers for P

Unit was not ready when we checked in.

The location was top notch, however the staff at the front desk was not helpful at all. I stayed two nights and paid for breakfast for two days but only got a ticket for one day. When I asked for the second day ticket the staff member was almost annoyed. Also, I stumbled over a road side block in the parking lot and cut my toe. We asked the front desk for a bandage and they had none. Don’t they have an emergency kit? We tried to change the payment method used for the reservation and were told it was not possible. As to the room accommodations the place was clean but smelled like urine. I only can assume that a dog had an accident and they cleaned the area but as a dog lover I know it can take a little while for the odor to subside.
