Stayed here when my son graduated MCRD, it’s like 10 minutes away. Hotel is super clean, quiet and breakfast options are yummy. Beware you pay $25 a day to park, which makes no sense!

We had just flown into San Diego from Italy and needed a night to sleep before heading back home via the Coaster (5 min Lyft) the next day. Airport Shuttle stops at 10:30pm, even though this app said 1:00am at the time of booking. Therefore, if your plane arrives after 10:30pm, you’ll have to get yourself there. We actually walked since there are sidewalks from the airport doors to the hotel. Took 12 minutes with rolly bags. Other than that, front desk staff were pleasant, bed was really comfy and the room was clean, only issue there were that the sliding doors in bathroom (both door and shower door) didn’t stay closed very well. Breakfast is good, several options, both hot and cold and tasty coffee.

Staff friendly, nice property, decent breakfasts. I frequently stay at Hampton Inns, and this is the first time I was charged $25/night parking. Yes, it's in the volumes of info on their page, but I didn't see it. They should have told me when I checked in, but didn't, so it was a surprise at the end. I needed handicapped parking, which they had, but I'm surprised they could charge for this. Ultimately, had I known, I could have dropped off the rental car the night before and taken the shuttle to the airport, saving some money on the rental as well as the additional $50 they charged. I travel all the time and have never had to pay for parking like this before. It wasn't even a covered area, and I was not using valet parking at all. I was disappointed that they were not more forthcoming about this when I gave them our rental car info. Otherwise, it was a great facility, but the parking situation, since it was not clearly communicated, took away from all that.

I thought the location of the hotel was great. The cleanliness could have been much better. Our room had a hair in the sink. The downstairs breakfast seating had a disgusting spot with some sort of other gross stuff. The public bathroom on the first floor had a weird smell. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was not really good at all.

First room they put us in smelled horrible and there was dog poop in the room. The next room had an air conditioner that was going out and made a horrible noise while we were trying to sleep.

I paid a lot of money for a room that had stained carpet and stained furniture. The shower door wouldn't stay closed. the parking lot and pool are are very dirty. The staff is wonderful. I will not stay again, however, because I paid for a dirty room. I want to make it clear, this is not a staff issue.

We decided to stay here as a family of 4, two kids under 4, after reading the reviews of how highly it reviewed by others, especially families. Unfortunately after all day at the beach, we came back and I bathed my kids in the bath and as I went to let out the water, a huge hunk of dirty hair emerged out of the drain as I pulled it up-pretty disgusting. Then we went to go undo the covers to go to sleep, big stains on the comforter and noticed more on the bed linens as well. We tried to bring it up to the front desk but since we ‘booked through a third party’ they said there was nothing they could do, said there was no manager since it was so late. We also had a noisy neighbor, dog was running around without a leash in the hallway and ran up to our kids, overall just disappointing as it was one thing after another. At checkout, they didn’t even ask how our stay was and I was tired of complaining at that point. Sad to say we will not be returning.

The first room I was given had a really bad, musty smell. I couldn't tolerate it. 2nd room they switched me to was better but a similar smell. They turn off the A/C once a visitor checks out. No air circulating. Room was decent. Hotel was clean. Housekeepers come to your door at 8am on some days, not giving you time to even get started on your day. No local TV channels. Nice area surrounding the hotel for walking. Near restaurants.

Excellent hotel and staff. Honestly it was a perfect hotel in a wonderful location. My only complaint is that of the two rooms we stayed in, the shower pressure was too powerful and the shower curtain couldn’t contain the amount of spray produced. We love showers with great pressure too, most don’t have enough, but these just had way too much. We felt like we were getting sprayed by a fire hose. Fix this serious problem, luckily we were middle aged and could handle it. Get shower heads where you can adjust the pressure, spray pattern, or somehow reduce the water volume.

We stayed here while visiting for my son’s graduation from Marine boot camp. Was within walking distance of the airport and we also walked to several restaurants and to the recruit depot for the meet n greet and Family Day. The free breakfast was impressive- something for everyone— yogurt, fruit, eggs, sausage, waffles— and the coffee was great. The staff was really friendly and helpful- I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the AC and they promptly sent someone to our room to check it out. Overall - it was a really positive experience for us! My only complaint is that check in was pretty late -3pm- and I had to pay $75 for early check in because we had the meet n greet with my son on the Marine base at 3 so we needed to be able to change and get ready. Just seems like the check in could be earlier or the cost to check in could be lower.

We had booked a water view room to view the fireworks on July 4th and were very disappointed upon arrival yo find that they had overbooked that night and we were not being given a water view room. The most disappointing fact was that we were going to be charged the full price for a water view suite, until I questioned whether or not the suite we were in was of that category (since we couldn’t see the water from our room) and they admitted they were wrong and gave us a small discount. It still did not make up for completely botching our plans. Otherwise the hotel was clean, and in a good location. The airport shuttle was wonderful. Both of the times we used the pool there were no clean towels. When asked if they would bring more out we were told they were in the dryer and would be out soon. Our children ended up having to run sopping wet to the room. Breakfast was ok, but slightly limited.

Property is nice. Housekeeping is a different story. Four nights and no service. Beds weren’t made and no new towels. Had to go to the front desk to get our towels and even toilet paper as the roll was almost out when we first checked in. The front desk said they had no control over housekeeping and gave me a email address to complain. The email auto generated a reply saying I’m out of the office the next few days to contact the front desk with any issues. Laughable!

Front desk staff was friendly, room and other areas were basic but clean. My problem began at breakfast when hotel breakfast buffet employee Eugene refused to assist an elderly lady get more waffle mix, he said it wasnt possible and scolded her for looking at him. 1 min later a coworker appeared with the mix for the guest. This sent Eugene into a temper tantrum where he proceeded to slam things around and loudly and belligerently swear and complain in front of a lobby full of families and guests eating breakfast. When I asked him to not swear in front of the families he told me to shut the F up multiple times, f off and even told me to go back to my room. Then as hes shutting the breakfast room door early and in our faces, he put his hands on my husband and tried to physically block him from grabbing his already served breakfast plate. Manager was informed by another guest and myself about Eugenes teerible behavior. However when I went back to ask what were the repercussions for Eugene, she had not yet spoken to him about the incident 3 HOURS LATER. She seemed more concerned there was an altercation between the hotel employees rather than the fact that he had yelled at me, swore at me and physically touched my spouse. Worst hotel experience I have ever had, even worse that nothing was done except a weak apology from the manager.

We were not here long. It was so close to the airport that when the airport shuttle was full and our cab didn't show, we walked to the airport and made it in plenty of time. I also walked back from the airport after dropping off the rental car. Very convenient. The room was comfortable. The pool would have been better if the heater had been working. It was very cold. Bathroom was large and clean. Would stay again.

We arrived early and wanted to pre-check in so we could leave our car while we got lunch, but they had rooms ready and checked us in over 2 hours early! Super nice and welcoming staff, and a beautiful, clean and renovated hotel. Very close to liberty station, just a quick 5 minute walk, also convenient to the airport. Our room is nice and quiet too.

I really liked the property—it’s a nice place with a comfortable atmosphere. However, the breakfast was a bit disappointing. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs and overall, there wasn’t much special about the breakfast options. Unfortunately, I also lost my AirPods in the breakfast lounge. When I asked about it, I was told there were no security cameras in that area to check, so they couldn’t assist further.

Very clean, comfortable bed. large room with water view. Breakfast was good but scrambled eggs were watery, offered limited fresh fruit. Waffle makers were nice. Coffee in the lobby 24 hrs. Busy due to the proximity to the airport. Shuttle service to the airport is convenient.

very nice hotel. would stay here again. room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. man who checked us in was very nice and helpful! only complaint was that the breakfast staff seemded to be understaffed. it was a busy morning im sure but they were out of almost everything. coffee, milk oatmeal, juice, eggs etc., were all gone. but overall would stay here again

Staff were friendly and helpful. The venue was clean with outside seating and pool. The included breakfast included bagels, sliced bread, waffles, yogurt, fruits, etc. On the first day, the hot items were biscuits and gravy -- not like them at all with all carbs. The second day was better with sausages and cheese omelets.

Very close to SAN airport - 10min walk from terminal 2. Rooms were clean, ours had a view of the harbor, which was great! Breakfast was nice too. Shuttle bus driver was a fantastic guy - he made a separate trip for someone who had forgotten to sign-up ahead of time and there was no room on the next trip.

The room was big, the bathroom was pretty spacious. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too soft and had no firmness. Breakfast was supposed to be a top seller but was pretty disappointing. Not much for hot food selections. There were four hot options, one was biscuits, one was gravy and the other two or just eggs. No bacon, no sausage. For the price overall kind of disappointing but what stay there again? I would just have breakfast somewhere else.
