Updated hotel, rooftop restaurant closes at 9pm on Saturday and closed Sundays. Room was very small and we did not get daily housekeeping as advertised. Came back to the room with garbage and bed unmade. Huge lobby with nice breakfast area and bar. Easy check in.

The property was in good shape, but on a very noisy street! There are no amenities (pool/hot tub), no breakfast included, and paid valet is mandatory ($30/nt) which I'm not really a fan of. They should have a self parking option. Other than the very noisy room on a very noisy street our stay was good.

The property is clean and the staff is friendly. The Cable was down for a bit when we were there but it was eventually taken care of. The front desk person told us the restaurant upstairs was serving until 11 pm , but when we got there at 10:10 they said they stopped at 10. The information should be consistent.I would stay there again.

I liked this property but my room was on the side of the building facing 40th street with semis and motorcycles passing by around the clock. Felt the room was perfectly soundproof for the interior but if you're a light sleeper request a room that does not face 40th. Bed was super comfortable but disappointed that the room had not been swept/vacuumed and the body wash was empty. Just little ways to improve.

The bedspread had hair and public hairs on it and the bed needed to be remade. Upon return on night #1, our key didn't work and was updated 3 times before staff had to come and open the door with a master key -- all at 10:30pm, which wasn't great.

The room and bathroom were dirty, including the bedding, floor, (our shoes stuck to the floor), shower (had silverfish), bathroom walls, side tables, coffee pot, nothing was dusted. It was terrible. Everyone was so nice, so it was definitely just the condition of the room. There were no rooms available to accommodate us so we could not move to another. We slept in our clothes. My bill was $600.00!

The floors in our room were tacky. When you walked around the room your feet stuck to floor. Don’t know if the cleaner they use or what but weird. Also, when the bed was made before our arrival the fitted sheet was not put on properly as whenever we moved about the bed sheet popped off. There was an empty bottle of showed soap in the shower. When we returned from a day out out room was not cleaned or bed made. I asked at the desk and was told I needed to put a sign on door. This was never told to us at check in. First night a dog backing in another room woke us up multiple times. When we up to the 5th floor for dinner the menu was totally different than the one online. Was told by waiter that it had been that way since our waiter was hired. Please change menu online. We would have not gone to the restaurant if we had known

The hotel is in a fantastic location. The staff was friendly and we were able to check in early for a $50 fee. The room was truly “micro” but had all the necessary features. The room was not very clean; the coffee machine still having someone’s old and used coffee grounds in it. There was some dried food crumbs under the sink in the bathroom and it was dusty in general.

Not impressed by cleanliness of the property. Urine stains under the toilet seat and rubbish from a previous stay in the bedside drawer. Only a 2-night stay so didn't have time to report and rectify the issue. We expected more for the price and the seemingly nice standard of the rooms. It's a shame housekeeping lack attention to detail. I don't think this extends to check in staff because they seemed very attentive and helpful when attending to other queries. The shower also flooded from poor drainage, which makes me think housekeeping are not following standard operating procedures. Due to personnel shortage, we're told that they only make up rooms if specifically requested, otherwise they're left by housekeeping - maybe that was the red flag. I won't be returning.

The floors are visibly filthy, hair all over the shower, looks like it was never cleaned. Bathroom door didn’t close, sink was stopped up. And mandatory $30 valet parking. No self parking available. We had a small king room and it was great. No fridge or microwave although. But everything else about the hotel was amazing. Shower pressure was nice . The beds were comfortable and everything was within walking distance.

Room was clean but tiny. No microwave or fridge in the micro rooms but that wasn’t a big deal. There is only valet parking and breakfast is an additional $16 per person, so there are extra costs. There are no ice machines so you have to go to the front desk to fill the ice bucket. The building was in wonderful shape and the restaurant/bar was ultra modern.

The property itself is lovely with convenient valet parking and it’s easy to walk to many bars and restaurants. With that said, our room faced 40th street and was very loud with traffic along with a bright street light that shined directly into the window all night long. This hotel had some positives, but not enough to make up for the sliding “barn door” on the bathroom. The barn door for the bathroom is very impractical and makes for an awkward stay if there is more than one person in the room. The door is not wide enough to cover the entire door frame and, even if it did, the gaps between the door frame and door itself make privacy nearly impossible. I appreciated the earplugs for the noise as it was quite loud, but this is a normal problem in any city. It would have been nice to have a water bottle filling station on our floor instead of only in the fitness center. This isn’t a big deal but is a convenience I’ve come to appreciate at other hotels. Not a complaint but just something to consider for curly haired guests- I bring a universal diffuser when I travel that does on most blow dryers but didn’t fit on the one provided. The barrel was too large. Overall, we appreciated the welcoming staff and cleanliness of the accommodations, but we would not stay here again because of the lack of privacy due to the bathroom door.

I would say it was fine. Rooms are pretty small and not particularly well equipped -- no microwaves or fridges. Also the hotel restaurant is closed some days and they charge to park. Overall, while I love the concept of the converted schoolhouse, I probably won't stay here again.

We liked the rooftop bar however only 2 bartenders who were extremely busy, took long time to get drinks. Bar was also out of some key ingredients to make a 2 drinks we requested. The atmosphere was fabulous! The room was alright. Barn door to bathroom would not close (about a 6 inch gap), no mini refrigerator which was disappointing because we had some leftovers from dinner.

When we arrived we were assigned to a room where the bed sheets had not been changed-- the bed was made but the pillows and sheets had hairs and lint. We requested a room change. When we came back the following evening the room had not been made, we learned from the receptionist that we had to explicitly request that the room be cleaned and fresh towels delivered. The receptionist assured us that we were now "on the list" for the following day. When we got back to the hotel on the evening of the second day, the room had not been cleaned, the bed was not made, nor were the towels replaced. We were told by the night receptionist (while he kept chewing his sandwich and watching a basketball game) that the cleaning staff "do not use the list", instead, we should have hung a sign from the doorknob (we could not find the sign in our room). We left the following morning and promised ourselves to avoid Tryp hotels in the future.

There was a thunder storm that took place and the power was lost for serveral hours. Staff was still so helpful and was able to get me a room and helped me take my luggage to the 3rd. Floor. The no air conditioning was not fun but understandable. Your staff was great in this situation and compted my room for the night. So appreciated and I didn’t even ask. I will be back!!!great service!!!

Overall a good hotel. We chose it for the proximity to the UPMC hospital. Some rooms were noisy from the street, but we asked for a change and the rooms not facing the street were okay. The heating didn’t work at first, however they fixed it. The price is better when booking from Expedia than what they could offer at the reception desk (we extended a couple of times). The staff was nice and helpful.

The hotel was fine overall, but the valet parking was frustrating and poorly communicated. I wasn’t told valet was mandatory, and ended up being charged an extra $28/day without clear notice. The valet also misplaced my key, which delayed my departure by 15 minutes—only for me to find it myself and walk to my own car. If guests are required to use valet, that should be made clear and the service should be more efficient.

Tryp Wyndham in Lawrenceville is a most convenient and, frankly, cool location. We were visiting family who lives three blocks away, but beyond that convenience: great food is available right out the door up and down Butler Street (and even just upstairs on the rooftop deck). We were able to walk to the Roberto Clemente museum - which should not be missed. Breakfast Arepas from the food truck a couple of blocks away, ice cream just beyond that (we preferred Millie's) good coffee practically in every block - pretty much everything you could want is within easy reach. As for the hotel itself, we love the whole vibe: using the former technical school materials throughout is just cool. Our only concern is that this is an older building and, while the facilities and rooms themselves are nicely appointed, the water pressure is NOT great. But, we will deal with poor water pressure anytime because everything else is awesome. We even had a micro room, but never felt crammed in - probably because we were mostly out and about.

An old building nicely renovated into a cosy hotel, a few yard away from lively Butler street with so many restaurants and cafés. Great place, yet along a very busy street. I will come back when I have to do in Lawrenceville.

The hotel is situated within walking distance for exploring all the strip district has to offer. We enjoyed our overnight stay. Rooms are clean, comfortable beds with black-out blinds make for a cozy sleep. The rooftop bar was a huge bonus. Bartender Ben was working hard behind the bar, but still attentive and friendly. We will definitely stay again when visiting Pittsburgh.

Great value for the price. I stayed three nights and didn’t get any housekeeping service during my day, which is fine for the price that I paid. The location was ideal, the bed was comfortable, and the rain showerhead was excellent. Between the coffee shop and bar on the ground floor and the rooftop bar, there are plenty of food and drink options without leaving the building. Of course, Butler Street and Lawrenceville is just steps away, so there are many options.

The room overall was wonderful and the neighborhood was great. There was no parking available besides the valet, and no fridge or microwave either. We were here for a wedding, and were told we could get breakfast downstairs. To my surprise, no one was there. A man came about 10 or so minutes later and said "Yea our person just didn't show up, no breakfast today sorry." So we had to go about our entire day without eating until the evening as we were running around for the wedding. Additionally, we didn't get any compensation or even a voucher for food for the following morning. High end prices for very average service.

The Tryp is a great hotel! I was there over a weekend but I never saw the restaurant/bar open so not sure what that was about. I would check with the desk to see if they'll be open if you are looking to eat there. Pretty room and great accommodations. No fridge though!!! ( I would personally like a fridge more than a microwave, which they do have).

It's a pretty nice hotel in a great location. It looks attractive and industrial- retro and smells good. The 5th floor dining and bar were gorgeous and had wonderful views and glowy ambiance at sunset. The menu was small but the food and service were good. There is a coffee bar on the first floor with pretty-good, free, coffee and actual half n half in the morning. The mandatory valet parking was cheerful and quick, the desk clerks seemed tired and frazzled but willing to help. There was no Chromecast, which was a surprise and a bummer.

Its a nice area. Parking is valet and is right behind the building. I love how being an old school the incorporated school things in the decorating. Very nice and clean. Very cozy room with a nice sized shower. Loved the industrial look of everything. Didnt get a chance to check out the rooftop bar though.
