So welcoming on check in. Gave us great dinner recommendations. Happy hour on Friday gave us an opportunity to meet other guests which was great. The owner joined us and gave us a tour of the property plus lots of history. This is an old (148) year hotel. Well renovated!! Kind of a cross between a hotel and bnb. Highly recommend it. Parking close by. Stairs to room on the second floor. Breakfast great. Right downtown. We walked all over town. Would return on a heartbeat.

Nice, quaint place to stay. Room was on the small side and the bathroom very small, but nice view from the windows (3). Staff makes the place really enjoyable. Nice breakfast options. Super friendly and accommodating. What more can you want from your accommodations? Parking a bit of a hassle, but not much. 3 hr parking in front of the hotel sometimes, and overnight parking about a block away.

What a great Hotel! Its unique, clean, comfortable, friendly and walking distance to everything. Happy hour was a pleasant surprise. We only planned on having a drink then going out on the town. Ended up meeting new friends, feasting on an outstanding charcuterie spread and drinking wine much later than we planned. They even had an industrial size ice maker! Nick was very accommodating. Loved the monitor at the front desk that stated where we could find you if we needed help. Breakfast the next day was just as good. We did get to town midday so parking was not an issue. Would stay there for future visits. Enjoyed the St Joe/South Haven area. Some of our highlights walking: hit the farmers market, Harbor Light Brewery (and maybe a few other similar establishments), walked down the pier to the lighthouse, beach and around the neighborhood to look at the houses.

We arrived right at the end of happy hour and they gave us the opportunity to enjoy a snack after our drive. We had some drinks also. We were given some great ideas for evening out. We ate at Su Casa across the street and the food was great. Next morning the made to order breakfast was amazing. Overall our room, food, drinks, service were a tremendous. One of the best stays we’ve had!

Very walkable spot for downtown and the harbor area. Todd was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was accommodated and everything was running smoothly! He is outstanding and could not be more helpful and welcoming! Made to order breakfast was delicious. Happy hour drinks and snacks were great. Only downside was our bathroom/shower situation was very tiny and tight and lots of street noise at night. However, if we could get a different room we would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Todd!

Conveniently located in the downtown area. Downside is parking. You have to park in pulbic parking down the street, but it's doable.

This is one of those classic jewels you search for. The staff was fabulous and so were the guests! Hanging out in the lounge gave me the feeling of a home away from home. Breakfast was home made and fast. Served with care. The building is old so has its creaks and moans but that is part of the charm. Right in the middle of an amazing little town.

Hotel Nichols is a not-so hidden gem of South Haven. Located in a prime area of downtown South Haven, it’s location is perfect for walking around town, and a short ride or nice walk to the beach. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a happy hour complete with wine, a local draft beer option and a large charcuterie spread. Nick, the owner, checked us in and made us feel right at home with his kind demeanor. We stayed in room 10. Our room was clean and inviting, with everything we could need. Although we were close to the lobby, we slept well. Breakfast in the morning was just icing on the cake. All food was made fresh, and we got to pick from a nice menu. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Nichols if you can.

Made to order breakfast; good tap beer and wine; quaint; card/board games available. Very charming. I’m not a fan of the sink outside the bathroom, but in the olden days, bedrooms didn’t have attached bathrooms. There’s only so much that can be done with a small space in an historic building. Brendan was awesome.

The staff were knowledgeable of the area, accommodating, and very friendly! This was our first stay (2 nights) and we were assigned to room 4. The bathroom/shower was small for us. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars for the facility. We would definitely stay again but request a room with larger bathroom/shower. The breakfast is free with stay and has great order from menu options. The location is also very convenient.

From the moment Todd greets you, you know it's going to be a great stay. Todd wears all the hats like straight out of a Hallmark movie. He greeted us, and he accommodated a last-minute addition (an extra sister) and checked us in early. He reminded all guests of happy hour between 5-7. He sat with the guests and got to know us. He is so personable. The room was so cozy, and the beds were so comfortable. So much so I had to call to find out what kind of mattress it was, and Nick provided me with the information. We all ageed that this will be our new go-to place. Looking forward to visiting again.

We arrived right at the end of happy hour and they gave us the opportunity to enjoy a snack after our drive. We had some drinks also. We were given some great ideas for evening out. We ate at Su Casa across the street and the food was great. Next morning the made to order breakfast was amazing. Overall our room, food, drinks, service were a tremendous. One of the best stays we’ve had!

He is outstanding and could not be more helpful and welcoming! Made to order breakfast was delicious. Happy hour drinks and snacks were great. Only downside was our bathroom/shower situation was very tiny and tight and lots of street noise at night. However, if we could get a different room we would absolutely stay here again. The gentlemen running this place are so nice & caring. It is in the middle of everything. We only used our car when we drove up to Saugatuck. Loved having a home base in the middle of South Haven. The made to order breakfast was perfect. It’s the last cute, quaint and personable place I’ve ever stayed. Would go back with any group, friends, couples or family.

What a great property! I travel frequently, and this was one of my favorite stays. The property, staff, free breakfast, free happy hour, live music, and adorable room were all wonderful. Perfect location to walk to beach, bars/restaurants, farmer's market, etc. I would definitely stay in South Haven again and would book this property if available.

This is a neat historic hotel that has been restored. Rooms are cozy, but well maintained. Hotel staff was very accomodating. Breakfast was home prepared, better than most hotels. Property was quiet. Conveniently located in the downtown area. Downside is parking. You have to park in pulbic parking down the street, but it's doable.

Made to order breakfast; good tap beer and wine; quaint; card/board games available. Very charming. I’m not a fan of the sink outside the bathroom, but in the olden days, bedrooms didn’t have attached bathrooms. There’s only so much that can be done with a small space in an historic building. Brendan was awesome.

The staff were knowledgeable of the area, accommodating, and very friendly! This was our first stay (2 nights) and we were assigned to room 4. The bathroom/shower was small for us. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars for the facility. We would definitely stay again but request a room with larger bathroom/shower. The breakfast is free with stay and has great order from menu options. The location is also very convenient.

Love this quaint historic hotel! Our second time staying here and it just adds so much to our visit to South Haven.
