The location of the hotel is very good . Close to train station and the kamo river . The room size is good and has a tatami area for sitting by the window . The shower is strong . Breakfast is good . The gym is a bit small though. I had a couple of morning runs by the river and to the place which is very nice . there are many restaurants and covenient stores near the hotel. There is complimentary coffee n teas n snacks at the lobby.

My dad and I had a wonderful stay at the Dhawa Yura. Our rooms were very comfortable and quiet (slept really well!) and the staff were very helpful. Lovely breakfast and spa. And the location worked perfectly for us - lots to walk to and right by the subway and Keihan line.

Loved my stay, I recommend their massage facilities, 8lements, as well, Rie was a great masseuse and excellent conversationalist. Very beautiful hotel rooms with a combination of modern luxury and traditional aesthetic!

A lovely and beautifully-manicured hotel in a convenient location next to the subway. The staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The rooms were well-appointed but small which was to be expected. What was disappointing for a boutique five star hotel was the bar closing at 5pm weekdays. The included breakfast was pretty basic for a high end hotel particularly since it makes no secret of trading off the Banyan Tree group name.

Fantastic staff and facilities. Rooms are a little small with not many places to unpack, but are very clean and tidy. Nice coffee machines with capsules provided daily. Shower was fantastic. There is free coffee and sweets in the lobby which is a nice touch and the bar is very nice with great cocktails.

This is an excellent hotel centrally located in Kyoto on Shijo (4th street). It is just on the east side of the Kamo-gawa river. It is a clean very well run hotel with a spa and bar within the hotel. Buffet style breakfast is included. It is walkable distance to the famous Gion district (Maiko and Geiko area). It is also walking distance to the famous shopping and restaurant region on Kawaramachi and shijo streets across the Kamo-gawa river bridge to the western side of Kyto. The hotel has bicycles to use if you want. It is a great central region from which you can get guides to tour the Kyoto region. You are also walking distance to the subway which can take you all over Kyoto as well. Rooms are a bit small but well maintained and modern. I did not see a gym, if you are interested in working out during your trip, but all the walking through the temples and shrines will make up for any lack of a gym. For this reason, Japanese are typically more fit than the average American due to their more rigorous activity walking throughout the day.

I stayed 3 weeks in Japan, and 4 nights at Dhawa Yura Kyoto. This hotel had the ONLY soft bed in all of Japan. All my the other beds I stayed in were as hard as a rock, but thankfully, the bed at Dhawa Yura was wonderfully soft and I was able to sleep. I also enjoyed how close this hotel was to the Sanjo subway station - transportation around the city couldn't have been better. Perfect location. Plus the coffee was also the best I had in my entire Japan stay. A lot to like at this hotel! My one suggestion is that my room wasn't entirely clean - the counters in the bathroom had dust on them - surprising - and gross - but otherwise a wonderful stay.

The hotel is lovely, the bedroom is great, with a massive bed. Breakfast was tasty. Train and subway stations are very close. The only problem was we were at the front of hotel, floor 2. Direct outside is traffic lights, which you can hear the traffic, into the early hours of the morning.

Every single part of this hotel is planned and well thought out. From the entrance, to the complimentary mini lounge with tea/coffee/candy. Rooms were good, while not massive, but not tiny compared to other hotels. The bed was HUGE, and a smaller tatami mat area acts as your mini chill lounge section. Amentiees are top tier with everything available, including facial kits, pyjamas, pillow menu, and immaculate in finishes and maintenance. Breakfast was good too. While they dont have much halal options, there is a fair share of vegetarian dishes such as eggs, fruits, salads, rice, cereals, yoghurts and some breads. Front desk service was warm, friendly and very helpful with our luggage transfers. Hotel location is perfect. Literally next to the Sanjo metro station, and about 5 to 10 minute walk to the shopping district, 10 to 15minute walk to the gion historical area and also short walk to the musuems. Highly recommended for location, service and value for money.

駅が近く観光拠点としてはお勧めです。スタッフの対応も良いです。コーヒー他、無料の飲み物が豊富な事が一番良かったかな。部屋には多くのクッションが置いてあり、タオル・部屋着・バスローブも清潔で高級感があり良かったです。不便なのはバスタブがなくシャワーだけの為、日本人には少々難ありな感じがしました。濡れたものをかけて置くポールもない為、不便を感じました。また利用するかと問われたら、もちろん使用したい。

I had a wonderful stay. Hotel rooms seems newly renovated , larger than usual Japanese hotel rooms. Very comfortable mattress, they even supply buckwheat pillow at your request. Breakfast is very tasty and has multiple choices, including traditional, European and Japanese options. Stuff is very helpful, they even helped me to arrange the transfer of my luggage to Kyoto. Centrally located and walkable distance to many tourist destinations. Metro station is next door.

Staff (Tomiko, especially)was so nice, helpful and respectful. What stood out is their flexibility to provide us a "to go" breakfast for one of the days that we couldn\'t be at the dining area due to an earlier excursion. Hotel is so conveniently located to downtown, Gion district, Kyoto station, etc. I just don\'t like that our room didn’t have any windows to see the outside. I felt claustrophobic.

Hotel from outside doesn't look great but at the second you step in you change your opinion, it's a beautiful hotel, well situated between the Gion district and across the river less than 10 minutes walk all the traffic and vibrancy of the city, near to bars and restaurants, great drinks at the bar, rooms on the small side but very nice.

Our check in process was not to be desired arriving after 12am to be told they don't have housekeeper to put the beds together. The staff that checked dus in didn't put in the effort or were they friendly or considerate that we traveled all day to get there.

We loved this hotel. It was easy to access various areas of Kyoto with trains/metro/buses all on our doorstep. It was also walking distance to Gion. The staff were wonderful and let us check in super early. The rooms were comfortable and stylish and the cocktails in the bar were lovely. The Nest had tea and coffee whenever you needed it, which was fab. The hotel was beautiful and welcoming after a hot day of sightseeing. Would stay again if in Kyoto.

Grill 54 is absolutely amazing! The service, the food is all very top quality, we loves the atmosphere with the mini bamboo forest as well as the samurai armor set in the bamboo, the front desk staff we're extremely friendly, helpful and gard working, overall i highly recommend this hotel as well as the location is close to the Kyoto station sooo much shopping and absolutely amazing food!
