Misrepresented! Did not match pictures, was put in a basement room with no windows, shared bathroom. Did not send me my code for the door until 11:37p sat outside trying to figure it out at night. Shower covered in black mold. Carpet was dirty and dead spider on bed and live spiders in basement. Left and checked into a hotel.

Genuinely shocked at how many good reviews this place has (which is why I booked in the first place). The property has a shared bathroom that was COVERED in black mold. Another guest who was sharing the space with me had checked out while I was there so I thought they would've cleaned the shower and bathroom between guests, but they did not. Also 2 of the 3 showers I had were completely ice cold, surrounded by mold. As someone with respiratory issues this was very worrisome to be around especially as there is only 1 shared shower. Not a pleasant experience at all. The room was spacious, but didn't have as luxe of a feel as the photos would suggest. Overall I would not recommend staying here, especially since it was $750 for 3 nights. I reached out to see if a partial refund could be given due to the unsanitary conditions but they refused. The hosts should be ashamed charging that much for a moldy bathroom shared between multiple guests. Will be reporting to BC Health authority.

Location easy to find and park at. Room was quite large, but...Room did not have curtains to block light at night. Room (5) was near the front door so any accesses to the building, at any time of the night, were quite loud and disruptive. No real orientation provided upon arrival.

Small, pretty room with limited elec outlets. Signs directed to ask host how to adjust A/C. His response was to "open windows". Otherwise he was pleasant, helping with luggage & very courteous. Yard was badly overgrown. Otherwise good experience although a bit pricey?

Clean and spacious room, good communication from the host and easy checkin. However, I could not sleep at all due to street noise and room's glass door (hallway noise and no way to block light from hallway). Besides, the listing does not mention that bathroom is shared, I would not have booked if I knew that. Would not stay again.

So cozy and spacious! Such a great little place to stay. Free accessible parking, great coffee, fantastic shower amenities, etc. The bed was perfect - more relaxing and comfortable than many I've used in hotels. Really enjoyed the thorough hospitality of Sam and Lily, and the recommendation resources they provided for local leisure/enjoyment. Will definitely stay at Vancouver West Cozy Retreat again in the future!

The room and the living area were extraordinarily clean and comfortable. The amenities were good as well. The host was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions I had. The walk to the closet SkyTrain wasn't too far and there were plenty of bus stops just outside the door. I'd definitely stay here again.

Hosts were very kind and offered a good balance of being available when needed but offering space. Answered any questions I had and accommodated a request for an early check-in due to an earlier arrival time. Very clean and had a lovely level of toiletries available. Beautful home, stately neighborhood. Unfortunately road construction worked near through most of the night. Had to have windws open because of the heat but couldn't sleep well. No coffee for the morning which made everyone cranky. If we'd known we could have prepared better.

This was a lovely stay in a gorgeous room in a beautiful house. The room had a private bathroom, there was coffee and tea and snacks available in the shared kitchen. It was a short walk to a super tasty sushi place, and also the bus stops and skytrain line were very close to get anywhere in town. A super good time.

I feel that Expedia misrepresented this property. It is a house in a residential area of Vancouver. It is more like a Bed and Breakfast without the Breakfast. But a person does have access to one's room throughout the day. However, it is just a bedroom in the basement; the bathroom and a common area are shared. Not what I was expecting. Allergy warning: there is a cute, fluffy, "grumpy" cat that wanders the house. Good street parking. There is a Sushi Bar, A&W, and Tim Horton's within a block of the house.
