Hampton Inn Morro Bay

The hotel is clean, there's an indoor pool and a snack shop inside to purchase drinks and snacks. Free breakfast and delicious coffee is always a plus. Jess at the front desk was awesome.

Appreciate the 24 hr coffee, tea & hot cocoa. Good family atmosphere. Indoor Pool was great Staff is very friendly. Breakfast seating was just right. The Food was good. The location was perfect for our adventure. We will definitely stay here again.

Very nice staff, great breakfast and the room was great. But the indoor pool was stated as heated, no it was cold & salt water too uncomfortable for my grandkids and I.

We are full-time travelers. Very walkable location to the rock, park, beach, and town. Just a wonderful location in this regard. We were not on the highway side and exterior noise was very low. Our room experienced significant and intrusive noise from the adjoining room door and hallway door. The doors are not gasketed and do not seal out noise. This was a big deal and not likely to be solved with a room change, so I didn't ask. Our bathroom exhaust fan was not moving air. This becomes an issue with two people in a small space for 4 days. Cleanliness of the room was lacking with smudgy windows, plastic under furniture, and dust. One of two elevators was out of service for our entire stay. Staircase access was good, clean, and with locking doors at the bottoms. Security was good - fencing, lighting, doors, and no vagrants or concerns observed on the property. I might stay here again if the price was fair and I could secure a non-adjoining room.

Nice new & modern hotel. Rooms are comfortable. The hotel has gym and indoor pool. Free breakfast is basic yet decent. Location is quiet and there are no walkable dinning options.

Comfortable beds. Stayed here for the indoor pool and breakfast for the kids. Pool was heated indoors, very muggy if you’re not in the water (not sure if its better to sit outside in the cold watching your kids play in a heated pool somewhere else) and it was a bit on the smaller size with a max depth of 4.5 ft. Busy weekend, had to wait awhile for a seat at breakfast at 9am but they had good food options.

The place is nice. There was however a very strong chemical type odor from the moment you walked in the door. The odor was in the rooms as well. It smelled like cleaning solutions or the chlorine from the indoor pool. The service and everything else was nice.

The hotel was clean and the breakfast was better than most hotels, which was a huge plus, but the pool wasn’t heated and we were really looking forward to swimming after sitting in our car for hours. At least the breakfast made up for it.

Beautiful and comfortable mid-week stay at this brand new hotel with our kids. The space was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. I appreciated having a quick breakfast in the morning before starting our day. The kids loved the waffle maker! They also had a bunch of ev chargers in the front. If I’d known that in advance we probably would have driven my car on this road trip. Super convenient to have the option to charge overnight while staying here.

The facility is newer but it’s poorly built. This is the second time I have stayed here and the second time I have had issues with the door locks. Last stay, room didn’t lock. This stay the door knob mechanism was hanging off the door. Like it had been pryed. Rooms were dirty, old toilet paper from previous guests still being used. Shower dirty. Bathroom door came off the hinges when i tried to exit the bathroom. Ac blows hot, humid air. Staff is very slow to help. Tried to give a lame excuse about the delay to check us in but check out is at 11, check in is at 3, and we were checking in at 3:40. Please don’t give me excuses that you’re still checking people out to get our rooms ready. For $400 a night, not at all impressive and will not be staying here again. Same level as a motel 6 for a much higher price tag.

Very clean excellent

We enjoyed our stay and will return in the future. Christmas decorations were lovely and we enjoyed them very much. Hotel room and lobby were very clean. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

This appears to be a newer property and easily accessible from the freeway. Dislikes: The bathtub had pubic hair in it. There was a pubic hair stuck on the lotion pump bottle as well. Housekeeping must do better! The in-room fridge made loud noises that were not regular noises. I was able to turn it off and back on, but that didn't fix the problem and only quieted it down a bit. While checking out, the worker did not appear to be interested in his job, which made the encounter uncomfortable. He did not ask about my stay and if everything was ok with it. Not a friendly person at all. Overall, I won't stay at this location again. I have stayed in many Hampton properties and this one is not a good representation of all the others.

It was very clean

Standard Hampton Inn. Comfortable beds and pillows. Decent breakfast. Only negative AC unit gave out a stale smell, and carpets could use some steam cleaning.

Had a good stay at the hotel. We have stayed here a couple of times and have always had a good experience. The check in was easy, lobby is always clean as is the room. Would recommend without hesitation.

This hotel is one year old, and is super clean and well-staffed. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Multiple hooks in room and bathroom, and toom, vanity, and bathroom were large. Breakfast was nice. Coffee was the only thing that wasn't great. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area!

Comfortable room (was in a king bed room) w/ a decent amount of space. Good breakfast in the mornings. Clean and good service. There are definitely hotels closer to dining in Morro Bay, but driving to dining areas and finding parking even on a Friday night was easy.

Well, the pillows were really flat so i called the front desk & there was no answer. I remembered the text, so i text my request. An hour later, no reply or pillows, so i sent a 2nd text. No reply or pillows. Disappointing. The walls are super thin, lots of hallway & highway noise. Also, had to wedge a towel under the shower door to keep them from sliding open & spraying water everywhere. Not what i expected for $270!

The guy at check in was nice and got us our room key quickly. I'm typically happy with Hampton Inn's. This one, was a little off. The air conditioning was not allowing us to stay cool (even though it was fall) we were hot all night. that was unfortunate. Great shower/ water pressure. Love that many hotels are eco friendly and have the shampoo/conditioner/body soap installed in the shower and love the font is BIG enough so I didn't have to guess what I was using. Breakfast - was bummed they didn't have a healthier choice (plain greek yogurt) with fixings. nuts/granola/pumpkin seeds/ banana chips/ coconut (what I've seen in other hotels). Very sweet breakfast for the rest of my family so they were happy - I am pre diabetic and didn't have any choice besides oatmeal. big bummer for me that knocked down a star. it was a short little drive into town but nothing big.

The window blids in my room were switch operated ... but they would ,only, work. All the way up .. or all the way down. So , there were no controls for in between . Either al. The way open or all the way closed.

The television wouldn’t work throughout the duration of our stay. We were not offered another room, which was unfortunate. Instead we were offered another remote which also didn’t work turning on the TV. Traveling with toddlers, we rely a bit on TV to assist during down time and while getting ready. Sadly this hotel didn’t help resolve our issue.

The location is great but I’m on the second floor trying to sleep while the room above me is very noisy. Called the front desk and they didn’t do anything about it. I don’t know if I will stay again. My first time staying at the Hampton inn Morro bay ca.

We arrived Aug 27, Wed, and sadly there was no one at the front desk. I called out several times and after a few minutes (about 5) someone came to check us in. WE had had a 4 hour drive to get there so that wasn't a great first impression. The young man gave me the room key and it looked like 307 was written on the key card booklet. We went to Rm 307 and a doorknob hanger showed SLEEPING. I told my boyfriend I would go to front desk which I did. The young man said the room was 301 - that room was the farthest from the elevator and sadly my boyfriend has mobility issues. The young man said that was the only room available with a King size bed. I showed the key card booklet to other staff in the morning who agreed that it looked like 307 and not 301. Throughout our stay, there was a different person at front desk. Initially it seemed like no one was at front desk when we needed someone. The hotel was in a good location. Just be aware that the entrance to the hotel from the street has another driveway. My boyfriend initially turned down that driveway but we noticed the error right after we turned. Anyways, I liked the hotel overall and that's why I gave it 4 stars. The service, due to the lack of staff attendance, was given 3 stars. The heated pool was nice. I recommend the Dorn's restaurant which was recommended to us by the young man who checked us in.

The property is beautiful. The staff are awesome. The only issue I had was a clogged toilet. I reported it to the front desk. They brought a plunger to my room for me to use, stating they had no onsite staff for issues like that. I had my kids with me and attempted to fix it, but I couldn’t. We used the bathroom downstairs off the lobby area. That was a bit disappointing.

Check in was efficient. Garrett was very friendly and provided detail information on amenities. Room was clean and bed was as comfortable too. Check out was quick and again Garrett was very helpful.

Pillows gave no support. Had to wait over 20 minutes to check in as the staff was throwing out garbage.

Great check-in, hot coffee available. Friendly professional staff. Would recommend this hotel without reservation.

Staff is amazing! Ian, who did the check-in, was kind and courteous. I felt welcomed at check-in. During my second day, Ian greeted me with a big smile and asked how things were going for my family. Ian is truly a wonderful asset to the hotel team.

Front Desk staff was missing a lot and could have been friendlier. Housekeeping staff was great.

The Hotel was a little far from restaurants.

Property is up and away from much of any view other than the school. Lots of dining along the road leading to the bay within 10 minutes

Overall happy stay, close to the beach, but located right next to a school and RV park. Wished environmental surroundings were better.

It was the first time we stayed at this particular Hampton Inn. The location was great as we went between Cayucos and Morro Bay. We found that when we walked down to the bottom of the street and made a left, there was a great path that takes you all the way to Morro Rock and some great restaurants.

Easy to get to, convenient location & close to the beach. The breakfast was good, staff was friendly & helpful and plenty of parking. We've stayed here multiple times & will return again!

The room was very noisy as it faced the highway. When we went to breakfast at 9:30 AM, there were no potatoes or scrambled eggs available, and the fruits looked very old. The person in the next room was snoring loudly, and we could hear it in our room, which made it difficult to sleep. Additionally, the body wash dispenser was empty. However, the staff at the front desk was very friendly, the facilities are nice and clean.

Clean, spotless, well maintained facility, secured. Good choices for breakfast, dining area is big enough. Staff could have been more receptive if they are smiling and attentive, most of them look so serious and busy even if customer approach them for questions.
